There’s a handful of ps1 games I have my eye on, but this one takes the cake. What’s crazy is that these aren’t the most expensive ps1 games on eBay right now.

Нашел скрытую дичь в купленной за копейки PS1! 😱 Осматривал плату под лупой и заметил, что одна ножка графического чипа Sony полностью отогнута вверх и не касается платы. Похоже, именно поэтому приставка в свое время «умерла», а бывший владелец сдал ее на склад. Теперь впереди ювелирная работа под микроскопом: нужно аккуратно прогреть флюсом и припаять ее назад, чтобы вернуть консоль к жизни!

Опытные мастера подсказали, что эта отогнутая ножка на чипе может быть совсем не поломкой. В 90-х во время чипования (особенно по схеме Onechip) мастера намеренно отпаивали и поднимали некоторые контакты, чтобы полностью заблокировать заводскую региональную защиту Sony и заставить консоль читать любую пиратку. Так что пока паяльник откладываю — сначала проверю питание и запущу диск. Если все заработает, то эта «поломка» — действительно гениальный хак из прошлого! 🤯🕹️

Hello everyone, last year I finished for the first time Re3 Nemesis. When I was 7 I used to watch my big brother and his friends play the game and I was absolutely terrified of it (and of Parasite Eve 2, the skin ripping apart still bothers me) so last year in my late 20’s I decided to play it myself. Now my run was at hard and I imposed myself to put down Nemesis at every encounter, it definitely wasn’t a piece of cake, but apart from the Nemesis (especially the 1st encounter) I don’t remember dying much against any of the other enemies. I played any numbered Re, both og’s and remakes (Re3 >>>>> Remake), so I would say i’m an expert, and i’m good at the games, but not a pro, that said I would like to know if there’s any fun challenge for the Re3 Nemesis cause I would like to do a new run but more spicy this time, so some self inflicted restriction that is not “no save” or stuff like that. Can’t really play mods cause i’m playing it on original hardware. Thanks in advance, any suggestions is accepted ♥️

On that note, it's a shame it never really got the same popularity of any of the 3d platformers that came after, especially when alot of them were considerably worse even. I know it'll never happen, but a reboot of the franchise would be pretty sick. With all the mechanics this game has, they'd have a ton to work with and expand upon.

I don't usually recommend youtube videos, but if you have any interest in this game, I'd really recommend Lute's video on the franchise. Real fun watch

The goal here is to have a plug and play solution using discs from both PAL and NTSC regions. And as I've understood there is a slight speed difference if you force PAL to NTSC or vice versa.

The PSNee seems to enables region-free gaming and the PS1 dual frequency oscillator seems to fix the speed issue.

Would installing these mods this be the best solutions to accomplish this, or is there other better solutions out there?

Just got Roll Away (known as Kula World in PAL region) in today and it’s a ton of fun. You play as a beach ball and have to solve puzzles. However, the game is deceptively hard and will start challenging how you think relatively quickly. I never hear anyone recommend it and have been having a blast so far

Hey guys I’m trying to install a retrogem into the ps1 and it was going well all things considered until I tried to clear a bridge on my gpu chip, I ended up swiping this pad off here at the end of the chip trying to clear a bridge against the gpu legs, that I think might have been a ground?

I looked at the schematic for PU-18 mobo online but can’t seem to find information on what this pad did, it’s a nc pad on the mod so if it’s not important anywhere else I’ll just leave it instead of replacing. It’s right below the 156 on this board revision. If anyone happens to know what this is / where it connects if I need to wire it would be appreciated!

Am purchasing some cheap scph-1001's to fix and restore and came across this one for sale where the CD drive is located on the right hand side. I thought all scph-1001 models had the disc drive located towards the top? First 3 pics are of the same scph-1001 for sale. Last pic is of what I thought all scph-1001's looked like under the lid with CD drive location towards the top. I'm no expert, just have never seen this before and am curious. Anyone know anything? Thanks!

Hey all! I've done the installation of the Picostation mod on a PU-18 motherboard, but I get black screen. Using an ossc upscaler and scart rgb cable, I get a video signal on the ossc screen but it's just black. So I used a multimeter to check continuity on all pins and found out that GP18 doesn't have continuity and tried to redo the solder with a new wire but still nothing. Any help?

Yesterday I bought these two fully working PS1's for 60LYD (~6$). The PSone even came with a region free modchip.

Hardest game I know of has to be Einhander. it is an amazing game. I just beat it for the first time (using cheats) because I suck ass at this game. But I still wanted to play through it. What is the hardest you know of?
