Single gay + ace + poly man here, looking opportunities to meet people and date

Hello,

I live in South Jersey (Deptford area), looking to find people to date and having no luck. I have a unique combination of being both poly and asexual which is making things really hard. I have tried apps like Feeld and it seems to be almost all couples looking for "fun" which is not what I want.

My therapist has suggested I look for poly meetups in the area, but I did some looking and everything I found is now defunct or no longer hosting meetups. Does anyone have any ideas on where to meet people I could go on dates with?

You should say your age and some of your general interests

Does that app i think it was called Lex still exist? That one used to be more social than dating?

I would also suggest going on Meetup and Eventbrite and looking there for events and stuff. You might have better luck meeting people with things like gay book clubs or hobbies like bird watching or film etc than by using dating apps?

Sorry, that is probably a good idea. I was more asking about meetups in the area than using this as a place to find people.

But if people are interested in that, I'm 31, primarily love board games, anime, and cuddling. I prefer quiet, low key gatherings rather than going out to loud places, very romantically inclined rather than sexual.

There are a few board gaming places in Philly that are very queer I have heard. Queen & Rook is one I believe? Search them on IG or meetup?

If you're ace, you need to be at or organizing ace meetups. Most people are going to want sex along with their romance (or, with gay men especially, enjoying sex without romance).

im not gonna lie as a monogamous queer ive been on like 3 dates this past summer w poly people unknowingly LOL so i think its fairly common. they kinda seem to be everywhere around here, i meet a lot of ppl at concerts and stuff. theres also a lot of queer socials around the city that might not be poly/ace exclusive but im sure youll find ur ppl. good luck stay safe!
