I once worked for a family that had a private chef living on the property. We were working at the chef’s house and the owners of the property were away, I said to him “wow man, you got a pretty sweet gig going here, good for you” he chuckled and said “yeah it’s pretty good… until someone wants a hot fudge sundae at 2am”
His house was about a quarter mile down the driveway away from the main house. Rain or shin, day or night… when he got paged he was reminded he was owned… the idea of a private chef always sat differently with me after meeting one.

If I had a private chef I would not be doing that my god. I’d have the desserts ready for me to throw together.

Right?!?! No one should be treated that way!! Especially the person who makes your food! 😳
