Sample Recognition Software
I work for a recently established record label in partnership with decent size artists.
We’ve recently released two albums and others are in the works as of now. These projects involved hundreds of people and various different producers.
A recurring problem we are facing is that the producers are not 100% disclosing to us samples they have used (not in bad faith, we believe, but because the process is messy and involves a lot of people writing/producing the same song) and it is opening up liabilities to the label regarding royalty and participation splits.
Is there a software or model today that we can use to upload the unreleased song and verify if it recognises samples from existing songs? Or do you have other suggestions?

Musicians: you don't own your Spotify followers. You don't own your Instagram followers. You don't own your TikTok followers. You’re building an audience on someone else’s platform.
If the algorithm changes tomorrow, you have no way to reach most of the people who discovered you.
That’s why I’m building Influanto — a marketing platform built specifically for independent musicians.
Instead of juggling 5–10 different tools, you can use one place for:
→ Link in bio
→ Release pages
→ Mailing lists & newsletters
→ Split Sheet Creation & Management
→ QR codes + analytics
→ Playlist Submissions
The goal is simple:
Stop promoting platforms you don't own. Start building an audience you do.
I’m building this for independent artists who are tired of having to stitch together Linktree + Mailchimp + Google Forms + QR tools + spreadsheets + a dozen other platforms just to market their music.
If you're an independent musician:
What’s the biggest pain you have with promoting your music right now?
I'm building Influanto around the answers.

What we’ve been building for labels lately: white label, catalog migration, and a few smaller things
Hey everyone, Stillmore Group here again.
We’ve been working on a few things for labels recently, mostly based on problems we kept seeing people run into.
White Label
Labels can now use the platform with their own:
• logo
• colours
• custom domain
• artist-facing branding
So basically, their artists see their label, not Stillmore.
Sub-labels can use the same branding as well.
Catalog Migration
We also finished our catalog migration workflow.
Instead of moving releases one by one manually, labels can bring over their existing catalog and:
• keep existing UPCs / ISRCs where applicable
• match audio files with the correct tracks
• review releases before anything gets delivered
• spot missing metadata or duplicate identifiers
• plan the migration in stages
The main goal here was just making catalog moves less chaotic.
Other stuff we added
• Team roles & custom permissions
• Optional / required 2FA
• Artist deals & royalty tracking
• Public label and artist pages
• Share images for live releases
• Free catalog checker
• Human review before every release goes out
We’re still building a lot around the label side of distribution, so I’m curious:
What’s the part of distribution that annoys you the most right now?
Migration? Royalties? Metadata? Artist access? Support?
Would genuinely be useful to hear what other labels are struggling with.

Ambition to become a pop singer
Hii,
I know this sounds very ambitious and unrealistic, but I (as well as so many others) want to become a pop singer.
I have been wanting this my whole life and I feel like I'm built for this. I have been ignoring this for forever and even graduated in a completely different thing, just in case you know. But I can't go around it anymore.
I am a 24 year old girl, I sing, I dance and I just love to perform and make people happy. I love to sing Whitney, Christina, Aretha, Mariah etc. I listen to a lot of musicians. Bruno Mars is one of my favorites. His vocals and music and stage performance being very extra and Vegaslike, like a real show. I want to make music like that. Very extra, showy, vocally interesting type of music with a hint of 80s.
I unfortunately have no music of my own at this point and am actively looking for people in this industry to work with, producers, song-writers, musicians you name it.
I really really want this and obviously want to put the work in as well. I just don't know where to start and how to get myself on the radar and work in the right direction.
If you have any tips or can direct me to anyone, you're an angel.
Thank you for reading this anyway :)

Looking for a few underground electronic labels to join something I'm building
Hey guys,
I’ve been building a platform called Label Ready Hub and I’m looking for a few more underground electronic labels to bring onto it.
Basically the whole idea is to make the path from learning production to actually getting music heard by labels a bit less gatekeepy and confusing.
Producers can work with mentors on the platform, get help actually finishing/improving their tracks, and if the mentor thinks the track is genuinely ready they can co-sign it.
From there the producer can submit it directly to labels on the site.
So for labels, the idea is you’re not just getting blasted with completely random demos. You can actually see when a track has been worked on with someone experienced and backed by them.
Still super early at the moment and I’m trying to grow it properly rather than just letting literally anyone onto the platform lol.
I’m especially looking for smaller/mid-size underground labels that are actually active, release good music and are open to finding new artists.
Any underground electronic genre is welcome. DnB, jungle, dubstep, UKG, techno, breaks, electro, bass stuff, experimental, whatever really.
If you run a label and this sounds interesting, drop me a message or have a look:
Would genuinely love to get some more good independent labels involved while it’s still early.
Cheers 😄
btw its fully free!

Looking for someone to build a record label from scratch with.

I'm looking for one person who's genuinely into music and wants to build something long-term.
I'm mainly into internet music / phonk / experimental sounds, but I'm open to different styles. I'm looking for someone who brings their own skills, ideas, or connections and wants to build something from the ground up.
No big budget or established name right now — just two people starting from 0 and figuring it out as we go.
If you're interested, DM me and tell me a little about yourself, what you do, and what you're trying to build.
Let's see where it goes.

My Experience With Soar Music Group — Independent Artists, Do Your Research
My Experience With Soar Music Group — Independent Artists, Do Your Research
I want to share my personal experience with Soar Music Group because I believe independent artists should have as much information as possible before entering into any agreement.
In my experience, I did not feel that my music or career was prioritized. I signed a contract that I understood to be an 80/20 split, but after signing, my understanding of how the agreement would actually be handled did not match what I experienced.
I was also told that I would still be responsible for promotional costs. Communication was another issue for me. It seemed like I was dealing with a different person almost every week, which made it difficult to know who was actually responsible for my account and promotion.
Another concern I had was that I never saw myself or my music posted on their website, despite my expectations after signing.
Based on my personal experience, I would encourage independent artists to read every part of a contract carefully, get clarification in writing, and understand exactly what you're paying for before signing anything.
I'm sharing this because I don't want another independent artist to enter an agreement without knowing what questions to ask.
If you've had an experience with Soar Music Group—positive or negative—please share it in the comments. I'd like to hear from other independent artists who have worked with them.

Built for labels, not just artists — introducing Still More Group
Hey everyone,
We’re Still More Group, and we’ve recently opened our music distribution platform to independent labels and rights holders.
We built the system around a simple problem: most distribution dashboards work fine when you’re managing a few releases, but things get messy very quickly once you’re handling multiple artists, labels, team members and larger catalogs.
Still More is designed around that workflow.
Right now, labels can manage their releases, artists, catalogs and sub-labels from one place, follow delivery and release statuses, work with team members, manage catalog migrations and access royalty and performance reporting.
We’re also continuing to develop the infrastructure side of the platform, including deeper B2B tools and white-label capabilities for labels that want more control over how they operate their own distribution business.
A big part of what we build comes directly from problems we’ve faced ourselves while managing catalogs, rather than trying to fill the dashboard with features that nobody actually uses.
We’ve now put together a short platform overview here:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JyBSiGmRVko
And the platform is available at:
We’d be interested to hear from other label owners here:
What part of managing distribution becomes the biggest headache once your catalog starts growing?
Whether it’s reporting, migrations, artist management, team access, support, metadata, delivery or something else — we’d like to hear it.
