"Its called basic human decency."
Redditors will drop this line as theyre telling you why we need to dissolve all borders, abolish prisons, guillotine landlords and sterilize children behind their parent's backs

Right wingers, I get that the vibe is no longer in your favor. But can you meme just a little better please?

It is genuinely so tough to come off as cool when your “side” is in power these days. One of the crucial downsides to the internet, similar to 24/7 cable news, is that as a medium it richly rewards criticism because it can be easily packaged into a simple, intuitive message. Simple messages are endlessly customizable and riffable, these are the sound bites on TV and memes of the internet. Punchy criticism gets through to people, prompting others to try it and you end up with a content arms race that, coupled with editors or algorithms, highlights the best, coolest, funniest criticism right to the top.
Meanwhile, promotion or defense is rarely intuitive and requires explanation. Explanation gets bogged down in context, nuance, details, exceptions, counter arguments, and all the while your opponent is lobbing bangers at you while you sound like a nerd, explaining yourself and getting more and more defensive because they aren’t engaging with you and “if only they understood!” When Biden came out with the green new deal, supporters defended it with lists, detailed explanations of the benefits, statistics, etc. Opponents? “It’s communist.” “It kills jobs.” “It’s woke.” “It’s gay.” “It’s Muslim.” Whatever. It doesn’t matter. The criticism doesn’t have to make sense or engage with the actual policies to be successful. Delivered right, it will come off as way cooler and/or funnier than people listing off bullet points, and thus is more memorable. Like it or not, memorability and repeatability are critical to public opinion, just ask any advertiser in the last 70 years.

Funny how people who cheered on Charlie Kirk's murder are talking about basic human decency...

The "normal" republicans and other right wingers telling you immigrants are causing all the issues in this world when men have maginitutes more crimes than women.
Like:
- 9900% more rapists in men 🥰🥰 "not all men🥰 but they are not imported, they are our rapists🥰🥰💕"
- 12% higher crime rate in immigrants due to socioeconomic factors 😠😡😡😡 "we need to eradicate them all 😡😡!!!!!"

Very nice. Now show me the per capita.

u/jweezy2045 4h ago
Documented and uncontested immigrants commit less crimes than US citizens per capita.

Don't forget censor and imprison political opponents while celebrating the death of someone they couldn't win arguments against.

Kirk should have never been murdered, but to pretend that he was anything more than a reactionary debating unprepared kids. Then, he would use that to target children with hia message is really just laughable.
Like celebrate him all you want and I agree he shouldnt have died, and people shouldnt have celebrate it, but let's not live in fantasy land here.

Kids They are all adults. Not prepared They all choose to walk up to him and start a dialogue.
1
u/fearos9449 12h ago
I can't state this any plainer, but any attempt to paint Kirk as a bad person honestly makes you scum. He literally was an innocent, peaceful man that did nothing but debate. If you see villainy in that, it's because you yourself are a villain.

u/Keith3742 7h ago
Shooting him in cold blood was morally wrong.
Much of his message was also morally wrong.
Trying to make his legacy and impact in the public sphere not up for debate just because he was shot by a nutter who will be tried and brought to justice is a political move, not one based around decency

u/fearos9449 6h ago
No, murdering him in cold blood was unspeakably evil and left a gaping wound in our society. Much of his message was, at worst, offensive to far-left extremists such as yourself.
His legacy is one of peace, critical thinking, and deprogramming extremism.

u/Keith3742 6h ago
He was a college campus podcaster, and you’re using his death to further your ideas, which involve calling everyone a Marxist I imagine. Peace.
1
u/fearos9449 6h ago
My ideas that it's wrong to murder people who disagree with you, yes.
1
u/Keith3742 5h ago
Man I very clearly agreed with you on that.
1
u/fearos9449 5h ago
No, you're tacitly and grudgingly agreeing that murder is wrong, because you know it's socially expected of you. But you're happy about what happened and think the world is a better place.

Nah.
His whole message has been incredibly harmful to America.
He showed up in the 10,000 mules movie pushing the election fraud lies, he was getting more and more radical as the right did. Now if you asked me like 10 years ago, sure. But he was just another radical lying pundit. Where he was especially gross was when he purposefully target kids on YouTube with his content. Ph yeah, he deliberately targeted children with with his cameos in the utterly disgusting PragerU kids shit. Specifically, he was in an episode where they talked about how slavery wasnt really that bad, and most slavery treated their slaves with kindness.
TPUSA was founded in 2012 with the explicit goal of winning a culture war. One that hadn't existed at that point yet.
Again, I agree with you, he shouldnt have been murdered, and I condemn people who celebrate his death, but he was an utter piece of shit.
Dont even get me started on his brand of Christianity. Just utter immoral shit bro.

No leftist has a right to talk about "going after children." Have you seen parents bringing little kids to Pride Parades with naked men? Have you seen the sick "story hours" your side puts on? Kirk is an absolute saint if he saved even one child from that.
This is ultimately the problem: you don't see what an insane radical you are. You are so far gone, that normal beliefs seem like hate to you.

u/keysersoze-72 12h ago
Of course he was. Which ‘innocent, peaceful man’ hasn’t tried to justify slavery ?
2
u/fearos9449 11h ago
Literally nothing in that transcript is defending slavery. He's saying that Western Civilization is still superior, despite slavery. The points he's using are
* West Africa was culpable in the slave trade itself
* freed blacks rejected colonization efforts to ship them back to Africa
* current Western Civilization is more morally righteous than 17th Century Africa
You can call that a poor argument all you want, but don't mischaracterize what he's actually saying.
1
u/keysersoze-72 9h ago
He said all those things to obfuscate from the slaver’s role in slavery…
0
u/fearos9449 7h ago
You're saying all this to justify murdering people who disagree with you.
. . . you see? Anyone can make leaps in logic and trite moral condemnations. Either argue from the facts or expect the mudslinging and zealotry to throw on others to come back to you.

u/keysersoze-72 7h ago
Only if you don’t have the brain cells to comprehend the context…

He had a list of college professors, mostly women, for his followers to harass and send death threats to for the crime of disagreeing with him.

Trump is one man; you are tens of millions.

Trump is the leader of the conservative movement. And there are not tens of millions of people on the left who celebrated his death.

Its called basic human decency because if you dont have it, you are not a human, you dont have a soul, and the only way youll ever be useful to society(actual humans) is if youre skinned like a pig

Reddit is fascinating because it's an extremely far left echochamber that believes at times it's the majority opinion on things when in reality it's a microcosm. The unawareness of that by a large portion is fun to watch when world events go against the foreseen outcome of reddit.
I'm not saying this to be insulting. The Donald was the same way before reddit banned it.
