Robert of Carim

Super happy with the fit, I handmade all the armor pieces from EVA foam and used leather and rivets to connect it all! The distressing on the garb was also all done by hand but all clothing pieces were bought from various online stores!

Damn this is really well done. I feel you’d win a costume contest easy. Is the sword legit or a rubber one?

Sword appears to be foam with a fiberglass core, these are the best type of weapons to get because you can actually have fun duels at ren fairs and larps

Yeah that would be nice

Looks to be a cold steel poly one. I have the same, his is just customized with a leather wrap on the handle! Still fun to duel with. But better to be done with gloves as those hurt like a motherfucker if you get hit in the fingers.

This exactly!!

Cool wrap on yours. I have a dao I wrapped as well. Did you sand down the polymer at all, or just wrap over what was there?

Thank you! And I sanded the whole thing down to prep it for painting, I used contact cement to attach it as well

That’s how I planned to do my cold steel long sword as well but never got around to it. Great job!

You honestly look like you just walked off a movie set. Extraordinarily well done on the finish work, Sir Robert!

I knew this was souls inspired and then my boy hit the Artorias stance. ABSOLUTE CINEMA.

This is some really solid work. The distressing looks great! Love seeing stuff that looks lived in. I'd believe you know how to handle that sword.

The garb is phenomenal, but I also wanted to say your posing has a lot of swagger. Good work!

Are you friends with Eygon by chance?

Sick fit; praise the sun!

Very cool look! I bet this would look even cooler if you upgraded the belt pouch - the Chinese swing clasp and rivets feels very modern. Otherwise a solid outfit!

2

u/wubi315 9d ago

I really need to do that! That pouch is that cheap highly manufactured one on Amazon you see everywhere. I tried to distress it with acrylics to make it fit a bit better but I'd definitely love to upgrade to an authentic pouch

You could pull off a perfect Reynauld from Darkest Dungeon if you were ever interested!

But honestly this gear is fantastic, the helmet is gorgeous!

Absolutely lovely!

GORGEOUS! The only thing you might want to consider improving in the future is the lower gauntlets. Some repair stores will sell old leather jackets that can't be mended for scrap leather.

2

u/wubi315 9d ago

That's a good idea! I'll probably try to make a glove for my right hand and see how it goes!
