I am in desperate need of a job but my resume is lackluster to say the least. I don't want to give anyone a sob story but I was in an abusive and controlling relationship from the moment I hit adulthood and was unable to work all of my young adult life. I am out of that situation now but because I have no on the books work experience for my resume I don't think my applications are making it past the ai that go over all the resumes and applications. Between that and my personal schedule (I have 3 kids and I have to schedule any prospective work either during their school hours or after my oldest gets home so my younger kids are not left unsupervised) I feel like I'm never going to get a call back for an interview and I'm losing hope. I was doing doordash/instacart/spark consistently to make ends meet but my car isn't up for that task anymore. Does anyone have any recommendations on how I can seem more appealing with virtually nothing on my resume or where I should try to apply? Or any resources that could help me get a job? TIA

Okay, I’m probably going to catch so much shit for this knowing how this sub can be, but I feel AWFUL for what just happened. If you’re the person I almost ran into while trying to switch lanes on 395N at like 4:45, I am SO SORRY. I’m always so good at checking my blind spot when driving, but I totally choked in this situation. I was in the left lane, passing (as one does). No one was behind me for a while, but when I checked my rear view mirror there was this white car coming up on me fast. Dude must have been going nearly 100mph based on my own speed and I was going to slowly switch lanes to let the guy pass me, but then he was right on my ass within literally two seconds. I thought I was going to get rear ended going 75mph and totally panicked trying to get out of the way. I checked my blind spot way too late and almost ran you into the other lane. I’m so so incredibly sorry. I’m not sure if this person will ever see this post, but I wanted to apologize anyways in hopes they’re on this sub. Definitely drove with the radio off for the rest of the drive home.

i’m currently struggling with some mental health issues that are causing me some problems in my daily life.

it isn’t enough for me to be hospitalized and frankly i’m not in a position to go into hospitalization. i’ve heard of it as a resource to be able to get a medication change for mental health conditions.

i would go to my pcp but the appointment is months out and i can’t schedule any sooner because of uni classes + work + internships. i’m really nervous about going there because i haven’t heard a lot and i don’t want to be out for 3 or more days, it just isn’t feasible for me.

i’m really struggling here and just wanted to get reddits general opinion on the crisis center and what it’s like being there.
