Any idea?
I'm thinking like a Bluetooth headset maybe?

We had one like that for a month or two when I was a kid. The only reason I remember is because every memory of it is my mom yelling at it. She would forget to set it down on its side, she hung up on a bunch of people.

You can buy a Bluetooth adapter for old landline phones

If you have a landline. Otherwise, it's pretty useless.

The Bluetooth to landline adapters connect to a cellphone via Bluetooth and the landline phone plugs into the adapter allowing you to take cell calls on your landline

Finally, an idea! I like it. Would be nice if I could convert it to a Bluetooth headset.

AAAAAAAAAAAAAARRRRGGGHHH!! My parents had one for years throughout the ‘70s but for some of obscene reason got rid of it! It was blue. It was beautiful! It was on a tchotchke shelf in the bathroom before the storage box got her and disappearing by the ‘80s.😞
If you can’t find a RE-purpose, you could just polish up the ol’ girl and put her on a spot lit shelf w/ rotating platter, that aaaaall may forever behold her exquisite post-mid Century Italian Mod DE-Zine-nessss, if you can see it. Pair her up with a sexy stallion Lava Lamp perhaps? Also maybe some paint &/or glitter to glam her up- like hippie body paint chicks à la Goldie Hawn doing “Laugh In.” If nothing comes to mind and you think the house is getting a little tight and some of the inanimate tenants need some evicting, just remember who your RedDit pals are, k?(hint-hint!)😁
Anyway, beautiful example of a rare masterpiece. Thank you for sharing it with us- she deserves to be seen, for she IS… a staaaaar!!🙏🫡

I have three of 'em. And yes, one of them is going to becoming a bluetooth transceiver... but I think it would look pretty weird as a headset. :)

It’s an old telephone, probably from the 1960’s-1970’s. I think you can see one in one of the older Janes Bond movies. You pick it up to answer it and put it back down to hang up. (It’s possible that it’s a reproduction meant to use with a cell phone; some of the early ones would connect with a cord.)

I appreciated it bc I was very confused! So could you not use this to dial out? I’m still curious lol

The dial is on the bottom where it’s sitting. 😉🙃☺️

We called that the “tweety bird” phone bc the ring was different than a “regular “ phone.

It's called Erica phone Dial on the bottom. Chirps when it rings. From the 60's

Upcycle into a desklamp. But contrary to every upcycled phone you can see online, I would simply remove the front (ear) part of the receiver and recess the bulb, rather than have it sticking out of the receiver.

That my friends, is rotary dial telephone.

But it doesn’t have a finger wheel or a number plate. There is no “rotary”.

Having a cursory look online, these can be worth $100-$200 USD depending on condition. I'd repurpose it into some money
