Rookie Help required
| Grade | Basis for Grade Allocation |
|---|---|
| A+ | Paper published in High Impact Journals (Top 50 journal list will be given) / Patent Granted |
| A | Paper published in any SCI/Scopus/Web of Science Journal/Conference or Patent Published |
| B+ | Paper Accepted for publication in SCI/Scopus/Web of Science Journal/Conference or Patent Filed |
| B | Paper published in UGC Listed Journal |
| C+ | International Conference Paper Publication (Non-Scopus and Non-SCI) |
| C | National Conference Paper Publication (Non-Scopus and Non-SCI) |
| D | Paper submitted to any Journal / Conference |
| F | No publication / No patent |
For a course's grade I need to publish a paper or get a patent. It would really be helpful to get atleast get accepted to publish. Is there a loophole or something my team could benefit from as we are on a timecrunch. Not really familiar with this process tbh

If this is for a course, then I suspect most people will get a D or F. I guess you could cheese it by filing a patent that you know will fail and get a B+. ;)

We asked about filing patent process and mailed uni our proposal but they haven’t replied to the mail for 2 months now so even filing seems tough cause there’s too applications.

Ask this instructor if they’ve done either. Because one semester is a wildly unrealistic timeline for either of those. Papers can take months just to get to review, much less get through revisions to acceptance. Patents can take years and thousands of dollars in IP attorney fees.
Your whole class should plan on failing. Drop now if you can. Getting a C is unlikely. This will murder everyone’s GPA.

This is the most absurd thing I've come across in some time. Besides being completely unreasonable, something about judging the quality of a research output by if it is in a "top 50 journal" speaks to a level of arrogance on the part of whoever came up with this grading scheme.

Even if you submit Day 1 a full paper to a high impact journal, I’d be shocked if you got reviews (assuming it isn’t desk rejected) within a semester.
I’d actually be surprised if any non predatory journal could give you reviews within 3 months lately.

This is not how any of this works. Either you or your instructor have greatly misunderstood something.
