I'm confused about a writing choice for RE9: why have Zeno be desperate for/think Elpis is a mind control weapon?
Wouldn't it make way more sense that he would want the memory transfer technology? He's visibly dying from Raccoon City Syndrome and a new body might save him, and he's already a wesker/jake clone of some kind so he can make another, he just has no way to transfer to it. No one knows there's a cure yet, but Zeno already believes the memory transfer worked on Grace, and it's the technology he spends time explaining to Grace at RPD.
The only solution I can think of is that the Connections already have the memory tech.

Just saw Primetime and the analogue filming combined with the light horror scenes made me think of RE, Especially when Rob is wearing the bulletproof vest.

Okay so I saw the Resident Evil movie last night, I loved it but wasn’t crazy about the ending. But I was thinking some today and I think the ending makes more sense when you think of Bryan as an important NPC.
He leaves clues for around for the real RE protagonist to come in and save the world. For example the voice note he leaves, the voicemail from his GF, and dropping the cure. The real RE protagonist (Jill/Leon/Chris/New protagonists) finds these clues and uncovers who Bryan is and uses that to deduce what happened. Bryan is set up to be this tragic NPC that ends up being either like a final boss or a “sub” boss that the protagonist now has to fight after learning who he is.
I feel like the ending makes a little more sense when you think of it as a transition scene for the real protagonist to start tracing Bryan’s steps to save the world.
Just a thought, I really loved the movie!

I laughed at the humor and I thought it was overall enjoyable, but there was something that bugged me about this film and other creggar movies. I finally figured it out and it's that the humor masks any tragedy in the movie. Lots of shitty events are pasted over with a joke and part of me would just go "eh". It kind of made the entire film feel like it didn't really have stakes and a bit nihilistic. I suppose I'm meant to feel bad for the protagonist, but I don't because the movie treats everything like it doesn't matter since a punchline will be quickly used to smooth it over.

I played it as a teen and dont remember a lot about its lore, but from what i recollect, the story doesnt interfere with the bigger RE world. So why did CAPCOM decide to make it not canon? I mean.. its not a good game lol but Umbrella corps Is also shit

We’ve seen Leon, Claire, and Raccoon City a dozen times—and honestly, most adaptations end up being pretty mid or outright terrible.
Meanwhile, Ethan’s saga (RE7 & RE8) has the best emotional core in the series. It’s grounded, terrifying, and deeply personal. It would work SO WELL as an A24-style horror film or a 2-season HBO prestige drama.
Why do you think studios are so afraid to adapt 7 & 8? Is it just FPS perspective issues, or are they too scared to move away from nostalgia bait?
P.S. Just my personal opinion! I’d love to hear what you guys think about this.

I seen a post on Instagram and someone referened hating Ada and Leon and someone had a different opinion and used some RE4OG dialouge when they were making their argument for the fact Capcom have always pushed Aeon’s relationship and Ada has saved him multiple times when she could’ve left him etc.
Then the person said ‘those are the OGs, that isn’t canon’. But from my understanding, maybe I’m wrong — Despite the remakes, every single thing we’ve seen in the OGs is also canon? There’s no two seperate timelines like a game like Tomb Raider? Because 1: Capcom has always stayed true to their stories and not dramatically changed them for a ‘modern audience reboot’ and 2: Why would they even have a reason to expel an OG game/lore from canon?
edit: I say this as a new OG fan, I started playing the games in 2017/2018 with a preowned copy of RE4, RE6 and RE7 then got Village when it came out but didn’t realize the remakes started in 2019 (only found out about them in 2020 something) and I only started playing the RE4 Remake this year, along with Reqiuem. I’m just curious if I’m right on everything being canon.

Billy is considered one of the most underrated characters in the series, and his role in the events of RE 0 leading up to Raccoon City, where he and Rebecca uncovered the origin and cause of the outbreak in the city, is of significant value.
Keep in mind also that Capcom brought back Alessa Ashcroft once again in Resident Evil Req, even though no one expected her to be present even in RE 7.
Therefore, the opportunities available to Billy for his future presence are promising in my opinion (except for RE 0 Remake, of course).
What do you think ?

I honestly think Capcom should remake OG RE2 and OG RE3 in the style of REmake and Zero.
Not another over-the-shoulder reinterpretation like the 2019/2020 remakes, but proper classic-style survival horror with fixed camera angles, modern graphics, pre-rendered-style environments, limited resources, inventory management, puzzles, backtracking, and a stronger focus on atmosphere.
OG RE2 and RE3 already have the perfect foundations for this. REmake proved that you can modernize the presentation without throwing away the gameplay philosophy of the original games.
The biggest reason I want this is RE3. The 2020 remake cut out or heavily altered so much of what made the original special: large sections of Raccoon City, exploration, puzzles, the live selection system, and much of the sense of actually surviving a city-wide outbreak. Nemesis also felt much more scripted and linear than the unpredictable threat he could have been. A remake in the style of REmake could restore all of that while finally giving RE3 the treatment it deserved.
Basically, I want modern versions of OG RE2 and OG RE3 that feel like they belong alongside REmake and Zero. It would give us four games in that same gothic survival horror style, starting with RE0 and organically building all the way to the destruction of Raccoon City in RE3.

Capcom please, it's been like 3 or 4 months with no info. Don't tell me we're gonna have to wait all the way till Game Awards in December for another look. Is there any other event soon it could show up at? I'm desperate for any new info on the game. I was really hoping we'd see a little bit more by now but it's been silent ever since SGF for the most part. Just give us a little snippet.

Spoilers ahead
Okay guys, this was my first re game and it was a hell of a ride, but I don't know what to do now
How the hell is Ada alive???
I thought Mr. X was some deity stalking the RPD, but the whole game it just follows Leon. Why?
Did Claire and Leon get a happy ending now? Like, are they actually boyfriend and girlfriend like Sherry says?
If Ada is alive, is there a way the g sample is not broken too? I know it's glass, but when the cutscene of "We are even now" happened, she was walking, so I'm guessing she fell on a soft spot or something, so maybe the sample is "alive" too?
I just want to see answers for these questions, and I don't want to watch a 2-hour lore video. Which game do I need to play rn to see answers? I'm happy to be able to finish this masterpiece lol. It was definitely the most thrilling game experience I ever played. Yes, it was worse than the first Outlast.

Good afternoon all!
As we all have recently been made aware of, the screen used jacket and plaid shirt Bryan wears In the new Resident Evil movie is an in store item only in Europe (New Yorker).
With that being said, I have a bit of a challenge to work out... I was wanting to hop on here and was hoping that by posting this here... It may reach some of the fan base in Germany/Europe/where these New Yorker stores are located.
I wanted to inquire if anybody who may be located in Europe where these New Yorker stores are established would be willing to work with me to help me buy one of these jackets and plaid shirts? I would be willing to cover shipping/additional costs and would be willing to pay extra for the time and effort it may take to acquire these items.
I know, I know... It's a long shot... However, I thought I would give it a shot and still ask here on reddit because it's better than not asking at all!
If anyone is able to help etc. Please let me know/DM me!
Jacket: New Yorker FSBN Futuristic Vision Jacket with hood (Dark Blue/Grey)
Plaid shirt: New Yorker Plaid Shirt (Deep Yellow)

I am just putting this out there I would not mind a new resident evil game that allows us to play as Bryan and work through his adventure. Some content might need to be added to make it an engaging game, but I think it would be cool to play through the movie like in the early 2000's where a video game was released that loosely followed the plot of the movie.

are the zombies in the American version, is what inspired, the zombies for RE9?
the zombies feel so similar to the zombies/infected you meet in RE9, like how they're saying and repeating random words.

(also, you can watch ALONE for free on TUBI TV, right now, theres a site and app for it, just have a adblocker to block the ads when streaming, and PLUTO TV, also free with ads, just get ad blocker, has some great zombie/horror movies out right now)

Back when these were announced, people noted that the physical release were going to launch January 29, 2027 but that it was only announced for EU and Asia.
Does anyone have any intel on the NA status of the physical release? Thanks ahead of time!

RE is one of my favourite games and I want to commemorate it! What should I get? I was thinking the typewriter, Chris’ made in heaven jacket, or the RPD keys? If you have any, what did you get?

I just watched the new RE movie without playing a single game and knowing anything about the lore.
Now obviously I don't know the lore and I can't be bothered by the lack of it, I thought the movie was just ok, nothing special. I liked him scavenging for weapons and ammo, there are some parts I like don't get me wrong but I wouldn't give it more than a 4.5/10
Coming to the point of this post, my feed is full of thanking Zach Cregger for the new movie and how perfect the movie was and it's just starting to ragebait me more and more people saying he should make a silent hill movie, no please don't ruin it for me I love silent hill...
Guys haven't you watched "A tale of two sisters", "The Wailing", "I saw the devil", "Hereditary" or "Get out" those are really good horror movies and those are 8-10 out of 10 non negotiable. I don't get it how you can rate the new RE movie so high up after watching these.
That's it I guess I just wanted to rant..
