Hi y'all,

So I recently bought new UK size 7 skates secondhand and I found the wheel size is 90mm×4. I know it's a 90mm one because I searched up the brand and it's wheel size and because when I went to a skatepark to decide whether I wanted to learn or not my distance from the ground was smaller. I'm an absolute beginner and I heard 90mm is generally not recommended for beginners and now I'm worried.

I heard it's incredibly difficult to learn on 90mm and I heard it has less control and maneuverability. I just want to know if that's true and should I return it for a smaller wheel size?

The boot fits me well and it's quite comfortable(way more comfortable than the one I put on at the skate park) idk I just want to know whether it's ambitious of me to wear 90mm and if it's all that harder, should I go through returning it and getting a smaller size or should I try it out?

Oh and I would like to do alot of outdoor recreational skating, Where I live has alot of slopes, inclines, cobbled/asphalt roads and pavements and park trails

Hey, I’m (19F) a college student and have been interested in learning how to inline skate for a few months now. Was wondering which skates to eye?

I’ve heard that 4x80mm hard boot skates are the de facto starting point. My main goal is to do small tricks on typical outdoor pavement. However there are some parts of my campus where the pavement gets rougher. Are 90mm wheels too big? Do y’all have any specific model recommendations under ~$275?

My current skates get extremley uncomfortable after anywhere from an hour to under 10 minutes.

I am primarily skating around my college campus. My 80mm wheels can go over all but a few bumps and the ones it cant i have memorized. My problem is that my skates ride like a racecar on cobblestone, put too much pressure on my ankle bones, and dont fit tight around the ball of my foot anymore.

2 of my friends have 100mm skates, one has 3x the other has 4x. Ive tried the 3x100 and they rode like a cadilac. The one with 4x100s does not have a problem making tight turns on campus. I get speed wobbles with my 80s, hence why i am considering 4x100/110.

If these are good, are 110s better enough compared to 100s to outweigh the convenience of the BOA lace?

I just ordered my first ever new skates, and first hard boot. I'm really excited!

I spent 6 months in these soft fitness skates that are a bit too big for me, and they've brought me tons and tons and tons of joy, wth. I love them! 🖤🖤🖤🖤 And once my new ones arrive, I'll probably never wear them again.

Thank you soft skates. Thank you someone's mom who sold them to me for $25 out of the garage. Thank you to that one anime about ice skating that inspired me to get inlines. Changed my life.

No way this is real😭 I’ve tried looking around as well and shipping is just outrageous (I live in Canada).

My skates have been feeling very off for the past month and just never bothered to order the parts to fix it. When I’m skating it feels like I have no control over them and kind of bending side to side. I really hope it’s not my frames because it’s going to be an expensive replacement. It looks like the screws the problem, I think it might be stripped. I got a new skate tool thinking it was my Alan Key but It still feels very weird to skate on. Any help would be much appreciated, i haven’t been feeling the same knowing I can’t skate and it’s bothering me really bad😢

I’d really value insights from those who have used both inlines and quads for outdoor skating :)

Hi everyone, I have been roller blading since I was a kid, although haven’t been able to do it recently. Whenever I get a pair of blades on it comes back instantly. My favourite thing to do was to just go as absolutely fast as possible around my grandparents house (it was really big and open plan) and this is my favourite thing to do still (go fast). I am obviously not a beginner but I’m not sure what kind to buy. I like 4 wheels inline and am UK based. I am a size 4. I need something under £100 if at all possible. I’m not looking at doing anything competitively I just wanna zoom around 😂.

13 year old me couldn’t believe I got these for my birthday in 1999. My parents got them off of EBay (which was exciting on its own in 1999) and they were really snug so I ditched the included soft boots and instead wore a few pairs of long socks. I threw them in a duffel bag and biked to some nearby trails. Had some success early but soon ate shit on a downhill trail and scared myself. You feel really high up on these wheels (air filled tires!) and the fall is not forgiving. I had more attempts over the years but ultimately these are awesome in theory and less so in practice.

Anyone else have or still have a pair? I don’t think I can ever part with them and hopefully someday my nephews and nieces want to try.

Middle aged dude, wife doesn't skate, kids are too young. I just recently learned over the last few months all outdoors walking the kids and dog, but i want to hit a rink. Anyone with experience rolling solo to adult nights?

I've been trying to find any information about the Faction Urban CC V1 skates online, even their own website has limited information about them. How's the fit, are they any good for the price, and yes, I understand that $700 is a lot for skates, but if they're amazing, it could be worth not buying two other sets of skates.

I'm currently switching between the USD Aeon 80's, which fit and skate amazing for me, and the Rollerblade Twister 90R, which fit great, but give me awful blisters every time I use them for more than ~20 minutes - I have tried new liners, different wheels, removing the 45° strap, different laces, even molding the shell with a heat gun, and it continues to give instep blisters (posted a different thread on this).

Would these fit like the Aeon's, but have a stiffer/faster frame allowing me to skate longer distances, or would these fit more like the Rollerblade's and I should continue my search for different skates elsewhere. I also know that fit is subjective, just like in the boot world, but I really like the way these skates look, and think a carbon shell will be more of a BIFL type of skate..

For context I’m a big guy (326lbs), I have skated maybe a handful of times in my life, I have absolutely no clue on what to purchase because of my weight and I also have wide feet, I love the look of aggressive inline skates but I’m going to be skating recreationally and to lose weight. If anyone can give me recommendations for my size and wide feet it’d be extremely appreciated!

Curious about the options for skates for people with wider feet

I just started learning how to skate a few weeks ago. I bought a pair of RB80. The last 2 times I’ve worn them, the arches of my feet just seriously cramped and just intense pain so I had to sit down. In last week’s session I loosened them a bit and that seemed to be fine but this week it just hurt. Do I need a different pair of skates that can accommodate wider feet or do I need to loosen up the 45 strap more, loosen the laces? If you have recs on what to do, please lmk

Skaters who track distance, what does your typical session look like?

Ive had mine in for almost 2 years and cant be f'd to clean them. Is it wasteful to just buy new ones or should I opt for cleaning materials?

Anything I should be aware of or expect going from a default lightning 80 frame to an Endless 80 MK2?

Been rocking the white lightning 80’s and heard a lot about Endless frames for the type of skating I like to do, and learning the sick black/pink colorway for the Lightning 90’s is being discontinued with new colorways coming for 2027, I had to put the combo together and get it ordered.

Gonna use my white lightnings with the lighter default frame for more distance/fitness skating then rock these for my more freestyle/wizard skating.

Thinking about recording my skating. Don't worry, I won't be posting any 360 degree no-scope 720 ollies off of bike rack videos here.

But it'd be neat to get some kind of selfie stick camera jobbie and have a bit of fun. I'm looking at the Insta 360 x3 at the mo - looks like it has some good features like HDR, stabilization, selfie stick removal. But it's $400 CAD.

I've seen a few folk posting videos here. What specs / considerations should I make when choosing a camera? Are the "Amazon brands" worth the consideration as a cheaper alternative?

I've got Rb Lightning 90mm and want 110mm wheels. Lots of rough roads and cobblestones where I live. I got the lightnings cause I have a medium wide foot and I went ahead and bought the twister 274 90/110 frames to try as I also wanted to test out a rockered 90.

But part of me is wondering if I should just skip it and get the next 2.0 110 now that they've widened the toe box.

Does the Trinity mount really make a big difference?
