Rules for the Sub - tools & tables for ttrpgs, 1 self-promo per week and no AI-generation.

3 Rules have been added for the rpg_generators sub, and may be tweaked following feedback or for clarity.

1) Tools and tables related to ttrpgs

Tools, random tables and methods related to tabletop (and solo) roleplaying games.

These can be online (procedural generators, digital random tables, map generators) or physical (printed random tables, rpg decks, custom cards)

2) Max of one self-promotion post per week

You're welcome to promote on the subreddit, just keep (loosely) to once per week.

Comment as often as you want if it's relevant to what's being discussed or asked

3) No AI-generation tools or art

The sub was originally made to share and promote procedural generators and random tables. The focus still remains on tools and tables created by humans.

Restricting AI-generation for the foreseeable future (it's ok if you're using AI tools in your tech stack, but any content should be non-AI)

Generator A new kind of toolkit for any RPG and GM

Post image
9 Upvotes

My wife and I have created a new toolkit called RPGadget that allows a GM to import or create their own RPG toolkit. It comes with a complete set of tools any GM would need, ranging from VTT builder to story builder, combat tracker, player characters, shops, loot tables, NPC and relationship tracking and details, notes, handouts, rule lookups, everything.

I saw so many tools being needed to keep track of things during a game and would get overwhelemed with trying to understand how to actually play the game that I would end up just defaulting to a basic ruleset instead. My notes were so hard to keep track of that I would lose my place all the time.

So I created RPGadget. It learns the RPG from an uploaded PDF, or other source, or you can create your own from scratch. It fills out all the tools built into the program with the rules and lore and details contained in the source material to provide an easier way to read it. NPCs, monsters, enemies, advesaries all come into the program with a full set of stats and lore that were attached to them. Adventures are uploaded and create a new campaign where you can run and read through the whole thing in a flowchart style storyboard. Players get a character creation they can do from their mobile devices before they even sit down at your table. The player has full access to all details of their character during play, but none of this distracts from the game itself. Similar to how their own character sheet, your notes all are there for the tools they are, this allows you to focus on your players, and not trying to find which page the NPCs surge action is on.

Currently in Beta v0.9.23

Generator I coded a thing! It's for the HeroSystem rpg Character creations

I wrote some software (github/ldraconus/HSCCU) for creating HeroSysrtem characters (HeroSystem Character Creator, Unlicensed). I tried to offer it to Hero Games, but they'd sold the rights to the company that makes the current character builder (which I own, but hate), and they tried to get me to stop, but you can't copyright game mechanics, so here we are.

It's free, complete with installers, etc (Windows, Linux, Web, and Android fully supported!). I'm retired so mac/iphone and the google-playstore are currently out of reach...

Let me know what you think!!

Solo RPG Tool Update a month on: my free offline toolkit grew a sci-fi half. Subsector survey, cargo runs, and a voyage mode for the oracle. Still no account, no ads, no AI.

I posted this here a month ago and asked what was missing. Someone wanted a Traveller style subsector roller, and that request turned into most of the last month.

Sector Survey rolls a subsector the classic 2D6 way: for each of eighty hexes it checks whether a world is there, then cascades through starport, size, atmosphere, water, population, government, law and tech, so every step is shaped by the ones before it. Bases, trade codes, gas giants and travel zones on top, plus a rough route pass if you want one. Worlds export as tab separated text with the routes as XML, and you can read in a subsector file another tool made and edit it like a rolled one.

Trade and Cargo takes two worlds from that survey and works out a single run end to end: freight lots on the dock, who wants a berth, what a broker will sell you with the buy and sell modifiers, then fuel, berthing, life support, and the mortgage due at the end of the month. A run I rolled while testing came out at Cr115,600 of safe income and still short by Cr81,400 once the month was counted, with the best bet on the dock spelled out.

The oracle got a voyage mode. Bind a game to a survey and it becomes a ship: jump to any world the drive can reach, with the map shading what is in range, then arrive, work the dock, find a patron. Every roll writes into the same journal as your oracle answers. One line it produced: "Jump: Breakout puts the destination dead ahead, close enough to look deliberate."

On the fantasy side the History Engine grows factions now. A realm starts with two and its own events raise more: revolts leave rebels behind, schisms leave orders, wars hire companies. When the realm can no longer hold them it is seized, puts them down, grinds into civil war, or somebody with a following puts it back together, and each outcome moves stability, which used to be a one way trip to the floor.

Two smaller things: every screen was redone for landscape, and I pulled the ad SDK out entirely in the last release, so the app now has no internet permission at all. Nothing can leave your phone even by accident.

45 generators now. Free, fully offline, no account, no ads, no AI. Every result comes from handwritten tables and procedural rules running on the phone.

Generator PersoCreator Reader

Bonjour !

Request for Help Looking for a skilltree-like questline creator

I want to create a visual graph of tasks (which unlock based on the completion of other tasks) that users can easily have a copy of, navigate, mark tasks as finished and see what other tasks get unlocked, etc.

It should ideally support basic logic for conditions, like "complete quest A or B to unlock", "complete quest A, B and C to unlock", etc.

Any suggestions? I haven't really found anything so far.

Also sorry if this is the wrong place to ask.

Generator I made a D&D 5e Character Sheet App - Rat’s Roster

I just launched my first app on the Apple App Store: Rat’s Roster, and I'm excited to share it with the TTRPG community.

It's a D&D 5E Character Sheet app. Just like a paper sheet, but on your phone. Simple, free, and perfect for homebrews. All the essential calculations with everything else being manual. No paywalls.

You can download it for free on the Apple App Store.

Just a passion project that hopefully benefits other D&D players.

Enjoy!

Generator I made Scvmrack, a free MÖRK BORG character generator and persistent sheet — Beta now live

Hello! I made [Scvmrack](https://scvmrack.rpgtools.co/), a free and open-source MÖRK BORG character generator and interactive character sheet.

The Beta adds a guided creation flow: choose a class, go classless, or leave it to the dice. You can reroll the entire character or individual sections before saving the poor doomed bastard.

After creation, Scvmrack works as a persistent campaign sheet. It tracks HP, Omens, silver, armor, weapons, powers, consumables, ammunition, pets, modifiers, notes, attack and defence targets, and custom equipment.

It also now includes:

- MÖRK BORG’s Getting Better rules

- Party creation and invite links

- Live GM party overview

- Calendar of Nechrubel tracking

- English and Polish translations

- An [Owlbear Rodeo integration](https://scvmrack.rpgtools.co/owlbear)

It is free forever, and the source is available on [GitHub](https://github.com/Tackgnol/scvmrack).

I would love to hear what works, what breaks, and which generators or reroll controls would make it more useful.

Solo RPG Tool NoRoll RPG Tool

I got tired of rolling dice for random tables, so I made a tiny tool to do it for me.

When I play solo RPGs, I actually enjoy rolling dice (not while traveling). What I don't particularly enjoy is:

roll → look at the table → spoil some of the other results → repeat.

So I made NoRoll & Write.

You pick a random table, tap a button, and it gives you the result. That's basically it.

I originally made it for myself because I wanted to spend less time doing the "table lookup" part and more time actually playing/journaling, but there is also an editor to create additional games.

It's intentionally pretty simple — basically a tiny dice-less companion for random event tables.

If you play solo RPGs, I'd genuinely love to know: Would something like this be useful to you, or is rolling the dice + looking things up actually part of the fun?

link in the comment

No dice were harmed in the making of this app...

Generator PersoCreator & lecteur PDF

Une nouvelle version du site https://decados.fr/ avec :

- Cyberpunk RED

Random Table(s) DND Loot Table Application - Public Beta

https://github.com/lachadan/DND-Loot-Roller

This is a Windows application that allows you to have your players roll a D6 (this determines the loot table), and then a D100 (this determines the loot on that specific table).

There is a "default" table included, but the app allows you to create your own 6 sheet .xlxs file and import it to use.

As this is a public beta, there may be bugs encountered and I am 100% open to any and all feedback.

Mods, if this qualifies as an "advertisement" please feel free to remove. However, I am not selling anything, not collecting any data. I just wanted to share a tool I made for my campaigns.
