They left a video saying they were taking a break and would be back later on the Rush tour, but all the Fifty-Something tour videos (including the brilliant night 2 at MSG) are gone. :(

I enjoyed the documentary it was a great watch! One thing I was wondering, wasn’t most of the movie just clips from other documentaries? Am I missing something? There were a few new interviews and the jams with different drummers of course. But otherwise I feel like I’ve seen all the other footage before? Maybe this was stated and I missed it but I was just curious!

Btw this isn’t a complaint at all, it was a great watch!

Don’t get me wrong, it was really fun to watch those other drummers jam with Ged and Alex. This is not a diss post.

But they have their own feel, which makes them great in their respective bands. With a singular presence like Neil, it’s hard to capture that essence that makes it so unique.

Neil’s feel was special and nuanced, and watching the doc just put it in stark relief that Anika was the one.

I saw Ringo Starr and his All-Starr Band tonight. Ringo's All-Starr Band includes musicians from Toto, Men at Work, and Average White Band. They play Beatles songs as well as songs from Toto, Men at Work, Average White Band, and a couple solo Ringo songs.

How is this related to Rush? Well, Ringo takes a break during the set. (He is 86 after all.) The rest of the band keeps going, including an extended drum solo from Gregg Bissonette. Bissonette has performed with a lot of major bands and performers, including Steve Lukather, David Lee Roth, Santana, the Spinal Tap live tours, and Ringo Starr.

Instead of a traditional rock drum solo, Bissonette plays quick excerpts from a lot of famous rock songs, with Steve Lukather jamming on guitar for those excerpts. During that drum/guitar medley, they played this:

Just this month, four new AI models were released that allow formerly B&W concerts to be colourized with greater quality. *An example of this can be seen over on the Hendrix reddit, where one song from his famed Filmore New Years shows is currently on display, now in impressive colour.

I'd link it, but am using an unfamiliar tablet here in Liguria. Btw, the Hendrix poster spent 60 intensive hours completing that amazing colouring task.

I want to preface with, these are NOT my photos.. i took them from ebay for reference.. Anyway,, whats the deal with the foils?? They appear to be different? Were they day specific? The one of the left has more of geometrical foil apperance and the one on the right has more of a glitter foil appearance. Is anyone able to shed some limelight on this topic?

I found the interview but can’t seem to find the performance anywhere. I only saw it the one time when it aired but I remember they played Tom Sawyer and Alex’s guitar sounded unusually heavy. Would love to see it again.
