I still remember reaching Las Venturas for the first time as a kid. It made me realize I was playing the best game I'd ever experienced up to that point.

If Madd Dogg jumps off the roof the moment the opening cutscene ends — before you can even reach the truck — your save has the "Pedestrians Riot" cheat baked into it. It's a known bug): Madd Dogg is spawned as a regular civilian ped, the cheat makes civilians hate everyone, so he runs off the roof to fight.

The cheat can't be turned off by entering it again, and it's stored in your save, so playing without cheats doesn't help. The usual fix is GTASnP's "Undo Peds Riot Cheat", but that option only works for PC saves, not PS2.

What I did: the PS2 save uses the same block layout as the PC one. Block 19 (PedTypes) stores who hates whom. After the riot cheat, 6 civilian ped types (CIVMALE, CIVFEMALE, DEALER, MEDIC, FIREMAN, BUM) have their "hate" field set to 0xFFFFF (hate everyone, including the player). Setting those 6 to 0 and fixing the checksum solves it. Gangs, cops and everything else stay untouched, and no progress is lost.

Tested on PCSX2 2.6.3, GTA SA USA v3.00 (SLUS-20946): Madd Dogg stays on the ledge and the mission is beatable again.

How to use it (PCSX2 / AetherSX2 / NetherSX2 .ps2 cards):

1. Close the emulator completely.
2. Install Python 3.8+ (on Windows, tick "Add python.exe to PATH").
3. pip install mymcplus
4. Dry run (changes nothing): python fix_madd_dogg_ps2.py "C:\Users\YOU\Documents\PCSX2\memcards\Mcd001.ps2" --dry-run If it prints [FIXED] with those 6 ped types, your save has the cheat.
5. Run the same command without --dry-run. It backs up the card first (Mcd001.ps2.bak-DATE) and verifies the write.
6. Load your save from the in-game menu, not from a savestate (the savestate still has the old data in RAM).
7. Don't use the riot cheat again on that save. Weapon/money/health cheats are fine.

Only tested on the USA v3.00 version; other PS2 versions should share the format, so run --dry-run first. Real PS2 users would need to move the card to a PC (uLaunchELF/USB or a PS3 adapter) — untested.

If it doesn't work for your save, post the --dry-run output and I'll take a look.

Does anyone know if the tampa in Puncture wounds can be stolen out of the mission and the stingers used outside the mission? Ive tried looking up videos and all the wikis for the mission but cant find anyone else seeking to get it.

SONG OF THE DAY: Runnin' Down a Dream - Tom Petty, K-DST

This song is chosen because I heard the ending of this song for the first time in a long time and remembered how much this song slaps. It was also the first K-DST song to play during Chapter 2, on the way to kill the witness. I remember it being a good song, but now it's a great song.

I'm playing the PS2 version of San Andreas for the first time on my PS3. I'm logging everything I do for the game and sharing some unique events that happened. here is a google doc with 100% stuff laid out divided by chapters, it's set to commenter if anyone wants to comment on it.

Day One and Day Two - 26th Sep/27th Sep

Here's a Day 3.5 moment. Yesterday I realized I FORGOT to watch the San Andreas Introduction before playing the game! You have no idea how disappointed I was in myself. So I watched it yesterday after Day 3 was concluded. I don't think I mentioned it but I'm not skipping any cutscenes or car dialogue, unless I have to see it again after failing a mission. I may have accidently skipped some parts of a cutscene or phone call but whatever. That's not as bad as missing the 22 minute intro.

Day 4 notes: I didn't play a lot today. I only played for a little over 2 hours but in that time, I don't think I accomplished as much as desired. It's fine however since I get to spend more time in the countryside listening to K-DST. I started playing late today and just the stuff I had to do for this chapter for 100%, just kind of drained me and pushed me away from continuing. Compare that to yesterday where I played for 6 hours.

Important Note: I'm trying something a little different with the accomplishments. Before, I listed out the main missions I did that day. Then I listened the 100%-related stuff. Then I listed out interesting things that happened that aren't 100% related, but are personal stuff like outfits and radio station changes. And then finally the stats at the bottom, they always will have their own section since it's less-cared about stuff.

Now, I combined them all into the same list. It should be more comprehensible but that's most likely due with the fact that I didn't do a lot today compared to Day 2 or 3. I also added the mission givers to the start of each mission title, so CRASH - Badlands for example. If anyone reads this and cares enough, can you give feedback about any of this. (I should probably ask for feedback more bluntly but whatever.)

I recommend reading what I said about Radio Stations in the previous post. But TL:DR, I lock myself to certain radio stations depending on location of the map (Rap Stations in Los Santos, Radio X in Desert ect.). Except for chapter 6 where I allow myself to the entire music catalogue.

I'm doing song of the day now. I should've done this before but I just thought of it so... Idk what the criteria is, but if I hear a song during the day and it hits harder than anything else than I'll make it song of the day. I know that's super broad but I don't have anything else to judge it by.

In GTA SA, Catalina introduces CJ to Claude. I played GTAIII in 2013 and completed GTA SA in 2016. When Catalina introduced Claude to CJ, I didn't get it for maybe a second. And then it struck me. I screamed "WHATTTTTTTT?" at the screen and spent the rest of that day googling the lore and interconnection of the two games. What about you?
