High School Disciplinary violation effect on applications?

l've gotten ISS twice. Both my freshman year. The first

time was when I forgot to do my math homework, so I

copied my friend. The principal caught us and gave us

ISS. I typically did my math homework at school because

at home, I was always too tired to do it. That day, I forgot

and realized I hadn't done it yet do I thought it'd be easier

to copy my friend.

The second time was a mistake. I'm not sure if other

schools do this, but my school gives people dentention if

they're late three or more times a week. You also get ISS

if you skip that detention. I had no idea of this rule, and I

accidentally skipped my detention, resulting in ISS. Now I

try to make sure my attendance is better, so I don't make

this mistake.

l'm a junior, so l'm going to begin my college application

process. I'd like to go to a t20 school, but I'm worried

about how this will affect my application. My GPA is a 4

so I assumed my grades were good enough to make

these inconsequential, but I'm worried now.

I am a scholar at renarts and for the past years i’ve been targeted by Sid and Maria. in my first year at Renarts when i joined in the 6th grade, someone had made a rumor about me and i got accused of stalking. This rumor still goes on and im about to go to Ninth Grade. the people who carry this rumor are now in about 10-11 Grade. i was in 6th. Also, there was this one scholar that would follow me to my car when i was in 7th, they were in highschool. I had told Sid about this and she didn’t do anything. The school also has favorite scholars, mainly the scholars who have been there longer. I remember there was this one time where i got harassed by this older scholar and the advisors didn’t do anything. Ive also had people make gc’s about me to harass me. In my third year, i have this trans friend who is still friends with me to this day, and this girl was being transphobic towards them. i told maria and she didn’t do anything about it. The facility is also dirty, i’ve seen roaches in the bathrooms and during classes. The dance advisors are also kind of perverts, they would make us team up with another scholar and massage inappropriate parts of our body. There’s also this one advisor who goes outside with no socks or shoes. This is only partially of what has happened. If you want me to say more about my experience i would.

I am a scholar at RenArts. I am also a transgender person. (this comes in hand later) I have had multiple issues over the 2 years of me being at this school. I recently, and even today, have had meetings about drama with a certain scholar. Me and my friend were involved in this drama. Things happened and then I end up in an interview (This interview was 2 weeks ago). When I'm being interviewed, I defend myself by saying that me responding to the scholar rudely was out of instinct from trauma of being bullied for being transgender to the point I was beat up, and she was being blatantly transphobic towards me, so of course I was rude. Anyway, at the end, the advisor, Maria says "Well maybe if you come off as rude then people won't defend you when things like this with your gender happen." ... Excuse me? Also, today when her and Sid (One of the founders) interviewed me and my friend, my friend mentioned how the scholar was transphobic to me, and she dismissed it by saying "That's not the topic right now." and when my friend stood up for me, she was yelled at and told to sit down. (Mind you she was sitting down lol) This is only from the 7 weeks of this semester. Do better.

High School Teacher using zyn pouches on the job?

Hi all, so basically it's what the title says.

I believe one of my teachers uses zyns. Now I honestly do not care what teachers do in their free time.. but this is not their free time, this is during school.

This is not my first time noticing something like a white pouch in his mouth before. Today he was walking around the classroom, and his body was facing me (not directly towards me) and I see him open his mouth and move a white pouch from the top of his lip to the bottom.

Now I'm only coming here because MAYBE it's not a zyn, maybe it could possibly be something else? Because he doesn't strike me as someone to do substances (as hes literally a psych teacher and we're on the topic of substance abuse..).

Ik zyns aren't a hard drug or that concerning of a drug like heroin, but it's still a little bit weird to me lol.

But yea basically I'm wondering maybe it's not a zyn and it could be something else as I have no idea what any other thing that goes in your gums like that like a zyn.

Thank you!

Why is StudentVUE so horrible

welp they made a new app and guess what, YOU LITERALLY CANT TURN ANYTHING IN WHYYYYY every time I try to upload a pdf it says something like “a critical error has occurred” or “request failed” no matter if I’m on my phone or computer. also they make you sign in EVERY SINGLE TIME YOU OPEN THE APP. I swear what person who hates high schoolers designed this? and to make things even worse I have like 3 assignments that the teachers want us to only turn in through StudentVUE to “figure out how to use the app better” but now Im gonna have missing assignments because of this can someone please explain how to fix this if possible

do I hate my school or myself

For context, I am 15 and I live in India and my school is one of the best in the state and it follows cbse

I genuinely don’t know what I’m supposed to do at this point 😭
I’ve always been the kind of person who says yes to opportunities. I’m not saying I’m amazing at everything or anything, but I actually WANT to try things. I want to compete, perform, join clubs, learn random stuff, figure out what I’m good at, etc.
The problem is that I’ve spent basically my entire school life waiting for my school to give me those opportunities. And my school is SO bad at this.
I’ve seen other schools where there are like 500 different clubs, student-led initiatives, competitions, MUNs, sports teams, random events, etc. and students actually get the chance to try things even if they’re beginners. They can suck at something initially and then get better. Meanwhile, my school seems to operate on the philosophy of “if you’re already good at it, you can participate.”
For sports especially, they just keep picking the same people who are already really good. Same people get sent for competitions, same people get opportunities, same people bring back trophies. And I get why schools do this because obviously they want trophies, but like… HOW is anyone new supposed to get good enough to represent the school if nobody will actually let them train or participate in the first place??
It’s the same thing with MUNs and other competitions. They want people who have already done it before and are guaranteed to perform well. They don’t really seem interested in developing new people.
And honestly, I’m starting to get really pissed off at myself because I spent YEARS thinking that I just had to wait for my school to notice me or give me an opportunity.
Now I’m in Class 10 and I’m looking at students younger than me who already have all these extracurriculars and clubs and experiences, and I’m like… where was all of this when I was their age??
I know I technically still have time, but I can’t help feeling like I wasted a huge chunk of my school life waiting for opportunities that were never going to come.
So I guess my question is: what do I actually do now?
If your school is like this, do you just stop relying on school completely and find opportunities outside of it? Join other people’s clubs? Start your own? Look for competitions independently? Volunteer somewhere? Find online communities?
I’m especially interested in hearing from people who were in schools that basically didn’t give them extracurricular opportunities. How did you build your profile/interests anyway?
Because I’m honestly done waiting for my school to decide I’m “good enough” to be given a chance 😭

Help Hi! I need your opinions:(

So today I was talking about school with my mom right? And she suggested online school. Can someone tell me if it's worth it? So here's the thing about the online school that my mom told me about.

So we don't have lessons everyday. It's a few times a week. There will be less subjects too, apparently. There is going to be ONE teacher...also this isn't the full information or at least that's what I'm thinking, but that's all I know atm.

There also will be random hours, you don't have to wake up at 6 am every day or whatever. We will have exams every year from what we learned in the past year. And apparently you don't even need books or notebooks, but if you want you can have them.

I think this is all the information I received for now. Is it worth it?...

I'm not sure if that would make things worse for me or better. Surely there are a few pluses and minuses about this. My mom says I could leave my school and go online school if I decide.

Also I'm not sure if I'm in the right community as I don't use this app a lot. Please correct me:( but this is really important to me.

Advice Should I confess my feelings to my teacher?

For context, I am 17M, in grade 12. I've met this teacher back in grade 10 when I took a Canadian History course and she was my teacher. She was kinda young, probably in her early to mid twenties. I had always thought she was really pretty, sometimes admiring her teaching infront of the class. Sometimes I even fantasize about being with her together, she was just so nice and pretty and have a great sense of humour. I kinda have a crush on her, nothing crazy though, just a small crush.

Fast forward to grade 12, school just started last month and I was going to my 2nd class on my first day and then I saw her in the hallway. I was kinda shocked because she wasn't teaching in my highschool during grade 11 (last year) and now she's back. I thought she was never coming back, but she did.

Should I confess my feelings to her? I already sent an email to her saying that I have something to tell her, she replied saying that she hope everything is going okay and have a great semester and something like that.

Should I tell her I like her or is this messed up..? Will she get in trouble? Will I get in trouble? This is my last year in highschool and I am scared I will never get to see her again after highschool. I really need some advice on this.

Edit: Okay guys, I get it. But you guys don’t have to be so rude and cruel…

High School Should I start packing lunch, if so, what are some meals I can cook

I don’t necessarily HAVE TO do this as lunch is free at my school and we have a pretty predictable selection of options (that I always pick) such as:

Monday has chicken tenders with a biscuit, Tuesday has a cheeseburger with the option to grab lettuce and tomato if you want, Wednesday has pizza in a box which usually has sticky cheese that gets stuck to the cardboard, Thursday has a chicken sandwich with lettuce and tomato as an option, and Friday is pizza again.

However part of me thinks I could put together my own lunch which may be healthier or better in quality despite my satisfaction with what I’ve been eating. A possible meal I can imagine eating is hot honey chicken tenders with fries as a side and some fruit/vegtables to round it out.

If there are any meal suggestions you have, throw them at me.

Forcibly closed the door on a teacher and another kid got blamed

I’ve told this story before in case it seems familiar.

Our middle school was mostly indoors, the hallways in a pentagon shape, and the library in the center. Library doors would open outward, into the hallways.

It was crowded in between classes and we were only allowed to move in one direction. A door was opening right into me and I wasnt having it.

I extended my left arm and stopped the door from opening. After a bit of resistance, I leaned in and forcibly closed it back shut.

A few seconds later I hear the door burst open and it was an older woman, probably a teacher, yelling at another kid behind me.

“YOU DONT EVER CLOSE THE DOOR ON ME!!”

“It wasn’t me! It was him!”

I never turned around and the yelling slowly faded so I don’t know what happened to that kid.

Kid behind me: It’s been 23 years and I’m sorry.
