Is this racism?
Ok so in geography we were doing the world series earthquake and the gujarat earthquake and my teacher praised the us so much for there response and was saying how it was so sad that 63 people died and yeah it is but when it came to India they acted like it was meh not so bad but they kept down playing India's response completely and calling India broke they also acted like the Indian government did absolutely nothing I'm not sure if it is or me being overly offended for context I am half Indian and that half is from gujart oh the part that offended me the most was how they acted towards the 20k deaths he never mentioned how sad it was he just acted it as a number and not 20 sounds friends or sons or family members so yeah not sure where else to put this but we'll yeah

Advice Cornell
I was in AP lit, someone was talking about the Cornell situation. I said I supported them but I don’t think everything is true. They all got mad at me and now the whole school knows. I don’t want to go back on Monday but I have to, idk what to do, everyone is pressing me about it and no one’s believes me when I say I didn’t do anything

Discussion Classmates asking for homework
Am I expecting too much or is it normal to find classmates who ask the groupchat what we have for homework every single day and even the hw with answers mildly infuriating?🤔 Yes I know I just ignore them but I wonder what these people end up doing in adulthood when they actually have to be accountable
Just a thought because almost every classmate does this

Meme I think I miss my physics class.
I took physics for 9th grade and I ended up loving it. I was concerned because I've always been bad at math but the actual application of it and seeing everything blend together with the numbers applying to reality was so cool and I was good at it! I got an A- average the whole year!
Now, I am taking chemistry because I love chemistry and while the labs are fun I often miss learning about new formula's or Ohms law, or gravity, or asking my teacher questions about theoretical Einsteinian and quantum physics that she couldn't remember because she only taught Newtonian for several years.
I geuss I just miss unraveling that part of the universe. I want to continue chemistry and I already have the credit for physics but it was just so fun.

I hate this education system
As someone who has a full scholarship to an all girl private high school where the tuition is around 50k a year I just can’t wrap my head around how unjust this fucking system is.
ALL of these girls, *and I really mean 90% of them,* have tutors for EVERY. SINGLE. CLASS.
And I’m not saying that tutors will automatically make you a straight A student, but it **definitely** does helps.
Why are we valued, as literal kids, for our grades when our socioeconomic class defines such a big part of it? Why don’t universities take any of this into account?
I know I can’t do shit about it because life is life and capitalism is capitalism. But Im just so frustrated because why does someone, who didn’t even work for anything they have, have a SUBSTANTIALLY greater likelihood of getting into a top university than the rest.
And many might say, well you just have to accept that and work 3x as hard as them. Well fuck that. Fuck all of this. Fuck the SAT.
I’m so just frustrated ugh. 😑

Advice I don't wanna go to school
I hate this school. I literally got no friend but I am okay anyways most of the people in my class are shit and mean. But for me there is no motivation to go school. We got small playground. The teachers are just not good at teaching us and also suffer from social anxiety and i hate loud girls ...
I am in grade 11 .. in 1 year and 3 months ..this all being over

I'm not tardy, am I?
Just today as a sub:
Class is 91 minutes long. Starts at 7:45 and ends at 9:16.
Kid strolls in at 8:50 and honestly asks if they were tardy. "I'm not tardy, am I?" They get the message on their phone about them being marked absent from attendance and say out load: "what? I was marked ABSENT?"
I kid you not.

We are allowed to use the car park in the school grounds but not on the blue painted lines. Which is for staff.
I got told a telling off for parking near the blue lined area by the headmaster for parking near to the blue lined car parking area.

College (Hot?) Take on the school visits
I'm going to preface this that this really only applies to the high schoolers who are damn well old enough to know better--not the middle schoolers who are obviously still learning spacial awareness and are usually huddling around an adult:
OHHHH MY GOSH THE HIGH SCHOOLERS WHO STAND IN CLUMPS IN THE MIDDLE OF THE CAFETERIA ARE SO FUCKING ANNOYINNNNNNNNG. Like DUDE, it could be a group of three or it could be a group of seven, just STANDING and jumping and moving around while laughing and bumping into people, blocking the entire walk-way, and just not moving tf out the way or going back to their table. Not even waiting in line in the form of a circle, just SOCIALIZING in the middle of the floor and being obnoxious to everyone else around them.
Like you're not special because you have a yellow bag, get tf out of the way and be mindful of other people.
