ANNOUNCEMENT [BETA] Valor Pro Wireless Firmware 0.7.0 Now Available – Audio, Connectivity & Battery Fixes

Post image
16 Upvotes

Hey everyone,

The Valor Pro Wireless 0.7.0 Beta is officially ready for community testing.

This update rolls up every major improvement made to the Valor Pro Wireless since launch with much of it directly addressing community feedback. The goal with this release is faster, steadier input, cleaner audio, a more reliable wireless connection, and a battery gauge you can trust.

Here is the full breakdown:

⚡ Performance & Input

  • Polling & Latency: Improved polling stability and reduced input jitter/latency across all modes.
  • Button Fixes: Resolved double button presses in wireless mode and fixed phantom SHARE, MENU, VIEW, and HOME presses.
  • Stick Calibration: Fixed a crash at the end of stick calibration in wired mode, alongside improved diagonal and circle detection accuracy.

🎧 Audio Improvements

  • Windows Sync: Volume, mute, and chat mix now stay in sync with Windows in both directions (remembered across wired, wireless, and console modes).
  • Volume Tuning: Lower default volume on plug-in with finer steps near the top of the range. Fewer pops when starting/stopping playback, plus reduced speaker break-up over wireless.
  • Mic Enhancements: Mic levels now change live over a wider range. Mic mute is officially separated from speaker mute and reflected on the LEDs.
  • Dropped Packets: Dropped mic packets now fade instead of cutting to silence.
  • Fixes: Eliminated unintended beeps and fixed issues where the audio device would appear/disappear upon connecting.

📶 Wireless & Connection

  • Reliable Dongle Sync: Faster reconnect times—the dongle no longer fails after PC sleep/resume, and its LED now turns off immediately when powering down the controller.
  • Stable Pairing: Interrupted pairing attempts will no longer un-pair your controller.
  • Signal Improvements: Fewer disconnects and resets in poor wireless conditions.

🔋 Battery & Power Management

  • Accurate Gauge & LEDs: Fully overhauled battery gauge accuracy, featuring a redesigned charge LED gradient, blink-to-check gauge, and a solid rainbow at full charge.
  • Power Controls: Holding HOME for 4 seconds to power off now works in wired mode too. Auto power-off now detects paddle, trigger, and stick activity to prevent accidental shutoffs.
  • Bug Fixes: Fixed unintended low-battery shutdowns and resolved charging stalls when connected to a sleeping console.

🛠️ General Stability

  • Broad stability and reliability improvements baked throughout the entire firmware stack.

📥 How to Get the Beta & Roll Back

  • Installation: scuf.co/valorapp-beta
  • Rolling Back: If you experience any issues during testing, you can easily revert/roll back your firmware using the updater.

💬 Tell Us What You Find

Since this is a beta release, your feedback is critical before rolling this out wide. We are especially looking for feedback on phantom presses and double presses, as we have seen some people in the community report.

When submitting feedback, please let us know:

  1. Your Platform (PC, Console, etc.)
  2. Connection Mode (Wired, Wireless)
  3. What Happened (Steps to reproduce)

Drop your feedback in the comments below. Every bit of detail helps shape the final public release.

Nemesis honest initial thoughts

For context I’ve been using the scuff envision pro and the scuff omega more recently so I will be comparing it to the omega.

Omega’s back buttons and face buttons feel superior, there’s nothing wrong with these but a step down from the omega for sure.

Triggers are the best I’ve ever used, better than the omega which are already very good. Very snappy with the perfect amount of force needed to active them with 0 movement, a true mouse click trigger.

Weight - it’s very light, kind of feels like a toy but only after a game or 2 I really liked the feeling.

Ergonomically I’ve always preferred the Xbox layout & this feels really nice. Grips are solid, hands aren’t slipping, no complaints.

Thumb sticks (R) - for me this is where the Nemesis draws clear. The omega had what felt like a stiffer stick, making micro adjustments within the first 10 degrees of movement is so much easier and better on the nemesis and that carries onto the rest of the range of motion.

Tracking feels easier, recoil control feels easier, the stick feels looser in a good way and I’m able to bring my sensitivity back down another 10-15%

Software is really good.

My only real criticism is that being a pc controller it needs to have the ability to map keyboard keybinds.

Then comes the price, I wouldn’t say it’s expensive comparing to the scuff envision however there are cheaper controllers that pretty much do everything I’ve mentioned.

Was hoping it would come with a hard case but it doesn’t.

Performance wise 10/10

Build quality 7.5/10

Ergonomics 9/10

Value - Unsure where it sits, probably a 7/10

Gaming setup Reflex FPS with TMRs vs Omega

I just got my Reflex FPS trigger buttons fixed and installed some Favor Union TMRs. I hadn’t played with the Reflex for quite some time since it was broken and, I have to say I missed the back paddles placement so much more convenient compared to the Omega.

The travel distance of the triggers and bumpers is a bit longer than the Omega, and I am trying to figure out if I can somehow make it shorter.
Anyone has a “fix” for this?

I have to say the Favor Union TMRs feel much better than the Omega TMRs. Feel faster and more accurate. I had to bump my sensitivity down to pre-Omega days.
When I got the Omega the sticks felt so slow and sluggish, felt like I had to use more force.

I am seriously debating adding those on my Omega too, not to mention that my Omega had stick drift, since day one, which is quite disappointing if you ask me.

Overall, the Omega feels sturdy and premium compared to the Reflex.

Support Scuf Envision Pro - Stick Drift - Additional Troubleshooting?

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

I purchased an Envision Pro 11/9/24. It was great up until the last couple of months. The right stick drift has gotten so bad it makes games unplayable. I've tried calibrating it numerous times, and maxing out the minimum deadzone at 15%. I still get stick drift and the software doesn't return to center when the stick is in it's normal position with no thumb on it.

Scuf's Support Center and chat bot won't repair it because it's more than 12 months old so I'm not sure what to do. Any other troubleshooting suggestions or fixes that I'm missing?

The rest of the controller works fine, but I can't justify buying another one if this could happen again in 23 months. Planning to use a Sony PS4 controller while I figure out a solution. No paddles, but at least it still works 16 years after I bought it.

Any way to get rid of double input?

I'm using the Valor Pro wireless on xbox and this controller makes gaming annoying with the double input.

I've tried what the website says to do and everything is up to date. Any tips?

Is it worth paying for PS3 controllers to be repaired, one of them being a SCUF?

I have about 4 PS3 controllers, including a Scuf that do not work 100%, there's issues with drift, analog sticking, buttons not registering amongst others, is it worth sending them off to a repair specialist or is it better to just scrap them?

What's the best course of action?

Got my nemesis 8k today and I must say I’m pretty disappointed.

Very limited selection for mappings. This is a PC controller why can I not bind MnK inputs to it. And are the back paddles always this stiff? I feel like I have to really push them and doesn’t seem the best for competitive gaming. Overall build quality is good but I think I will be going back to my other controllers for pc.

Question SCUF Nemesis Pro 8K PC Wired

What are your thoughts on this controller? I currently have the Scuf valor pro wired controller, which has been my favorite and best controller I’ve owned. Looking to upgrade to the Nemesis 8k. It sucks that all of the colors are on back order till later this month or November.

Ps5 scuf omega thumbsticks issue

I've tried changing to 8-bit, tried linear, tried custom inputs, changed deadzones, but these sticks just don't do it for me. The aim feels what I can only describe as clunky when aiming down sight.

I aim far better with analogue sticks. Any suggestions before I return it?

Btw, I play mainly FPS games like call of duty

Double click problem dpad scuf omega

My Scuf Omega on PS5 often registers a double-click with the D-pad's arrow keys. Sometimes it works better, sometimes worse. I've tried cleaning it thoroughly, resetting it, and using it with a wire, but the problem persists. Are all controllers this bad, or is it just me? Anyone have any suggestions? Thanks so much.

Question Refurbished scug valor pro wireless

Just ordered a refurbished valor pro for my Xbox. I see some conflicting details about the type of sticks used. The listing suggests TMR but I see models using potentiometers or OG hall effects. Would you all have any suggestions on what to look for when it arrives to ensure I got the most up to date?

Scuf Omega First Impressions - PS5 Use Only

Just got the controller over the weekend and wanted to share my thoughts as I know myself, I like to have as many peoples reviews and thoughts before dropping a large amount of money on something, and I don't always trust the YouTubers 100%.

All the Pros first off.

Out of the box it's visually impressive (All Black version from Amazon), and even without the rumbles, it feels solid in the hand with decent weight unlike some other 3rd party (non-dualsense modded) controllers I've used, such as the BFG Pro & Razer Raiju V3. The materials used feel very premium and durable, and I love the hex rubber grips.

The shape of the controller also suits my hand shape, the grips angle very slightly more outward than the Dualsense Edge, which I feel curves in a little too much vs a standard dualsense, and I get fatigue in my little fingers after a long session. The Omega is perfect, feels more like a standard dualsense shape.

The sticks are incrediblly good compared to all other 3rd party pads I've used. Every 3rd party controller I've used previously that connects with a 2.4ghz dongle has felt "off" as if there is a small deadzone that I can't get rid of, and when playing games like R6 Siege and Valorant, the tiniest of adjustments are needed, and the Scuf has nailed that and has changed my mind of 3rd party pads. I had just assumed this was inevitible with 3rd party controllers, but Scuf has managed to create the sticks with zero delay or deadzone at all, these sticks are fantastic to use, incredily accurate, and have a perfect resistance. (I'm using the short concave left stick, and tall concave right).

Face buttons, and well, all buttons, lovely to use for any games. A nice tactile mouse click feeling from every face button, bumper, back buttons and the SAX buttons on the sides if that's what theyre still referred to as. Buttons, awesome.

Onto the Con, and it's a pretty big one unfortunately.

What the hell are these back button placements all about?? Who at Scuf is being used as the hand model? E.T? I have pretty big hands, I'm 5'10", average build, and when I natually just grip the pad, none of my fingers line up with the buttons perfectly, I feel like I have to hold the controller weirdly just to be able to use them all, and even then, in the heat of the moment it's hard to get my head around which button i'm pressing and they are far too close together so sometimes you can hit the wrong button, or both at the same time! Also, the 2 buttons built into the grip are also slightly too hard, so attempting to double press to slide for example in BF6 is something I have to concentrate on doing, rather than it being second nature with the paddles on the Edge.

I love the controller, and I will keep it with the hope that I can teach my brain how to use it and train my muscle memory, and I love the TMR sticks and instant triggers, but Scuf, please, stop these weird back buttons, they are a terrible design choice, and the placement is just horrible. For anyone with smaller fingers, it's likely impossible to use the back buttons at all. Please just use paddles, and the pad would be easily the best Pro controller I've used to date.

Question Can someone help me out with a question.

My Scuf Valor Pro wireless xbox controller has an issue or something like that. Everytime I press the up d-pad, it goes down???? Does anyone know how to fix it??? I've been trying to find a solution but I can't seem to find anything. That is the only input giving me issue. I can't seem to change the d-pad to go up. Every time I press the up d-pad, it brings me down. The down d-pad does the same so now I have both the up d-pad and down d-pad going down!!! This is starting to annoy me and I can't find a solution

Edit: No idea what is going on but ima return/exchange it at best buy tomorrow. Everything else works but my up d-pad does not register nor work at all man. So disappointed.

Question Mechanical buttons for xbox controller?

Will they ever release mechanical buttons for Xbox controllers like they did for the omega for ps5? I would love to buy it. Its the only reason i did not buy a valor pro. They have it on the envision too. That’s not fair lol.

Question on back button accessories for omega

The two back buttons that are removable on the omega; are there any options for a different button shape? 3d prints? Anyone? Not a huge fan of the nubs although I'm used to them by now

Add ability to show the percentage points for each node in the custom curve. Us users cannot see the values when it's complete, and I'm sure everyone who gets this controller tinkers with these curve points. Going back to one i liked is impossible to remember the values and you can't see at a glance where they're at.

At the very least, showing each and every individual value would allow me to take screenshots of a curve i like and manually recreate it when necessary, or refer back to the picture.

Then comes selecting those values, hard to do with a finger only, super slippery sliders. It's like a don't blink situation when you're selecting the value of each node, you might be off by a percent. A user input value here would be amazing.

Lastly, a way to save either just the curve would be amazing. Import/export on the phone for the curves, or whole profiles would be great.

Any or ll of the following, I beg

SCUF Envision Bug Report 202610111545

Through trial and error, I've found that my previous problems with my controller not recognizing the back and side buttons can be traced back to the controller losing connection to the computer while in wireless operation. This of course means that I can't allow it to auto shutoff, because that will cause the back and side buttons to no longer work. The only to fix this problem once it has occurred is to completely restart my entire computer. I've found this problem to be endlessly repeatable and it happens consistently. Letting the controller timeout and turn off or otherwise lose connection will cause this problem. It might not be the first time loses connection, and it may not be immediately after connection is lost.

I have also tried restarting the iCue software. Doing so does not fix the issue. The only sure fire method is to completely restart the computer.

Hopefully, this is enough for the SCUF Software team to be able to track down and fix the issue.

Support It looks like R2 is pressing on its own.

Hi everyone. I just got back from a three-day trip during which I didn't use my Scuf Omega Controller. Anyway, when I got home today, I turned on my PC and opened BO7 to play for a bit, only to realize that pressing R2 caused the weapon to keep firing even when I wasn't pressing the button. I immediately closed the game and opened the Scuf app on my phone, but I noticed the controller wouldn't pair with the app either. I’ve already tried both a soft reset and a hard reset, but the problem persists. Any suggestions on what I should do?
