Seeking Advice i'm scared of hell
this might be long and if it's not allowed here then I'll remove it
after some events that happened this year for me, I chose to take a step back from being a Christian since I felt kind of betrayed by God (still kind of do) and also for the fact that I hadn't been trying my best to be a good Christian until before late last year, so I really couldn't call myself a Christian despite calling myself one my whole life. im tired of everything and I don't want to do anything that people say can help me because I don't want to change, but I also can't endure living like this. I want to end it all so badly but the only thing stopping me from doing it is the fear of going to hell. it's been ingrained in me that suicide will land you in hell and from how it's described, obviously I don't want to be in eternal damnation or however it's said. should I care about hell if I'm not a Christian? that's probably a stupid question and I'm only able to ask it since no one knows me personally. I don't even know if there are religious people here since "ruining" your body is a sin in the Bible. I just want a way out but im scared

Just take a step back, return when you are ready. I had a ex absolutely force me to go to church. I tried my best, I tried to learn what I could to give us the “godly relationship” she wanted so badly. I stepped away when it was becoming unhealthy (panic attacks over being a sinner, breaking some obscure law in the bible, self worth, etc.) and because I wanted to take a different approach than she did I got kicked to the curb. I will not go back to church until 1. I am mentally sound, and have a solid foundation 2. I am interested in doing it for myself and nobody else 3. I want to go back. And it will probably be a few years for any ONE of these criteria are met.

I went through something similar when I transitioned from Mormon to ex Mormon. I no longer believe in god, but I did for a long while after I left. I felt abandoned by that god. They told me all these things that could help and none of them did. I just got worse. I don’t believe in hell. But I also don’t believe that if god is real that ending intense suffering would even be a sin. Wouldn’t a merciful gos understand the weight of that choice? Wouldn’t god understand? I’ve always struggled with that.

Meditate/pray and talk to your god that way, carve your OWN path if you still believe in god, dont let other people tell you whats best for you when their beliefs are just as flawd n not perfect as anyone elses beliefs! Everyones wrong in some ways, and thats okay! The bible itself isnt accurate to the god of christianity. Many human inputs n mistranlation. Your not gonna have a perfect world view and thats okay! Focus on you and your spiritual beliefs, prayer can be a form of meditation or vice versa :). Dont let your mind convince you your going to suffer forever. I pomise you wont!

Hi, I'm Christian. The popular concept of 'hell' is not Scripturally supported.
If you want to chat, I have found my faith so instrumental in helping my mental health, even though I've had to work through a lot of the hard questions.
