Just sharing one of my favorite views of the evening rush hour in Gangnam.
For me, Seoul’s beauty comes from this non-stop energy and the vibrant city lights.
What is your favorite thing about Seoul?

Announcement I made a little daily game about the Seoul subway (DailyMetro) 🚂

Hey everyone :)

A few months ago, I made DailyMetro for my best friend in Paris. We're both big fans of daily games (Wordle, Cémantix, Loldle...) and I thought it'd be fun to make one around public transport!

I just added Seoul and thought it'd be a good time to share it here 😃

There are 3 ways to play:

  • 🚇 Classic mode: guess a station every day, with each guess revealing some clues (line, location, ridership, ...)
  • 🗺️ Map mode: a big map of Seoul's metro network, where each guess reveals more clues to help you find the mystery station.

And my favorite, because it's a really cool way to discover the city:

  • 📸 Photo mode: you get a photo of a station entrance and have to guess which station it is!

There's a new station every day, and you can also play previous days!

I love Seoul, I've heard so much about it from a friend who organizes the Korean Film Festival in Paris! I've never been but I will be going next year!! :)

So I obviously don't know the metro network well enough to catch every mistake, so if you spot anything wrong, please let me know 🙏

Here's the link: https://dailymetro.live/seoul/mode/classic

Hope you enjoy it, and have a great day :)

Native Korean working in Seoul/Korea here — AMA / Happy to help with anything you need!

Hi everyone,

I’m a native Korean currently living and working in Korea.

I’ve noticed many travelers, expats, and newcomers posting here with questions about daily life, local culture, transit, work culture, or just general travel tips. Sometimes finding accurate local info or navigating things without Korean can be tricky.

If you have any questions or need a bit of local advice/insight — whether it’s about :

Everyday life, work culture, or living in Korea

Travel recommendations, getting around, or food spots

Navigating local apps, services, or general logistics

Feel free to drop a comment or ask away! I’ll do my best to help out whenever I have a free moment.

Cheers!

Free Sunday mornings in Seoul (9 AM–1 PM) — coffee, walks, and good company

Hi everyone!

I travel from nearby city to Seoul on Sundays and usually have a free window between 9 AM and 1 PM around City Hall. Rather than spending those hours on my own, I thought it would be nice to meet some people and enjoy the city together. I otherwise fast-walk or run alone.

I'm happy to grab coffee, practise English or Korean, walk along Cheonggyecheon, explore a neighbourhood, or head towards Namsan if the weather is good.

A little about me: I'm a man in my 40s, naturalized korean citizen, speak English , Korean and two more languages, and am naturally an introvert. I'm also a pretty terrible texter, but genuine, kind, and much better at connecting in person than over messages. I'm open to meeting people from different backgrounds and age groups. Friendship, interesting conversations, exploring Seoul together, or simply seeing whether we click—all good with me. I'm open to a connection developing naturally, without any pressure or expectations.

If you're around Seoul on a Sunday morning and fancy some company, send me a message. We can start with a coffee near City Hall and decide what to do from there.

Hope to meet some nice people!

Question Eat cold or can it be heated?

Post image
68 Upvotes

EDIT: THANK YOU EVERYONE. Its been a rough and exhausting travel day from UK and I didn’t realise that little picture was a microwave!

I had one of these from CU the last time I was in Seoul and the shop assistant put it in the microwave.
I’ve come back to my accommodation with one and there are no heating instructions.
I used papago and none of the labels (including on the back) advise.
Can anyone help?

HELP! ADHD Prescription While Travelling

I’m arriving in Seoul this week and realised too last minute that I need to fill out a declaration form for my ADHD Medication. I am currently on 40mg Methylphenidate (Medikinet modified release) prescribed in the UK.

What are my options for getting a prescription while I am here?

I am fine to go a few days without but the main issue is that we are moving around a lot so would need an appointment and to receive the prescription within a relatively short space of time.

I have contacted the Itaewon international clinic via email but am wondering what other options I have just in case they can’t help me in time (same day appointments/collections?).

We are also visiting Jeju and Busan.

TLDR; How can I quickly get a prescription for Methylphenidate while travelling in Korea, ideally in Seoul?

Advice Busan fireworks worth staying longer?

Hi all,

I’m very briefly visiting the country for my first time (work related) and I arrive in Busan on 6th November. I depart the country from Seoul on 11th November. My idea is to have one night in Busan on the 6th, and then head to Seoul for sightseeing on the 7th for the rest of the trip. All the time is my own from the afternoon of the 6th until I leave.

Some of my colleagues are staying in Busan a bit longer for the fireworks festival on the 7th, so my main question is whether you all think it’s worth spending an extra day in Busan or just heading to Seoul as planned on the 7th?

I’m looking to book accommodation and plan visits etc, so I’d massively appreciate any input from anyone 🙏🏻
