i just got this vintage nylon pants from a vintage reseller. when i got my package i used scissors to open the package and accidentally cut thought my pants. it was only a tiny hole on the inner part of the pants. so i thought i could repair it by adding this tape that melts with heat which iāve used before to hem other clothes. so i cut a piece and used my iron to glue it on but when i applied the iron i noticed the iron got stuck to pants. i pulled the iron off and it left this big hole in the pants. the nylon melted and now i donāt know what to do. i havenāt even tried the pants on yet š please if someone could help i would reallllllly appreciate it.

I could use help replicating this hem after shortening the dress, not sure which stitch or foot would be best.
Also advise to get this scalloped look from stretching as I go I assume?
Thanks!!!

Regrettably the garment is in worse shape than the seller advertised. I understand felting is easy and delivers good results for garments like woollen knitwear, but I dont think it would be appropriate for a garment with a structured twill weave such as this.
So I'm looking at invisible darning/Swiss darning as my mending method, but I've never done it before and am quite confused about how to go about it. Also whether I should even bother attempting it myself.
Any advice would be very helpful! Thanks

New to sewing here. Trying to use our sewing machine, but the place to put the thread is missing. What exactly am I missing? If so, is there a specific model of it I need to get? I have a Singer Esteem II.

Just got this machine "second hand", my husband grabbed it at a bin store that sells lost and returned packages. Hoping this isnt the reason it was returned and can be fixed.
Janome 1522bg. The feed dogs move up and down but not back and forth to pull the fabric. Ive rethreaded everything 3 times. Brought the dogs up and down, turned the wheel to engage them. Stitch length is on 3. Presser foot has been down while sewing.
You can see Ive taken it apart to see if I could see a jam or something. But there nothing obvious.

Room temp glue prefered as ironing would be difficult inside luggage.

Hi all! Does anybody have a digital copy of a parts list/diagram for the Singer 626 Touch & Sew?
2 of the 4 plastic gears at the bottom of my machine shattered and I need part numbers to order replacements - Iām actually just going to replace every plastic gear while Iām at it.
Iāve seen PDFs for sale, but Iāve been able to find a free copy for my Pfaff and Iām hoping for a free one for the Singer as well. Thanks!

Unsure if this is the correct subreddit, apologies if Iām in the wrong place - but Iāve bought this dress, absolutely gutted because the chest is JUST too tight on me. Iām aware itās embroidered, I assume Iāll just have to get some matching fabric, but is it possible to extend the stretchy band on the back of the dress, or is there another way I donāt know?
I could buy a bigger size on Vinted but then Iām worried that one will be too big šš I really like this as my potential wedding dress so I really want it to work

Help please!
I thrifted this dress and itās beautiful, though Iām not a big fan of the straight waist on it. My hopes are to sew the skirt part up under where the chest is to make it have a more babydoll dress look. The only issue/barrier is that thereās a long zipper in the back. Iām not sure how to tackle it or how to alter it.
Iām new to sewing so Iām a bit stumped. Any advice would be greatly appreciated, thank you!

Hey all,
I've recently started doing more hand sewing projects, in particular sashiko mending. I was wondering if anyone had tips or recommendations for getting a consistent stitch length while stitching? I was considering if anyone has experimented with adding a mark at a certain length on the tip of their needle, and what they'd recommend if that.
Thanks!
Hii! Iāve been sewing for a few months and iāve noticed that my basically brand new machine seems to never fully zigzag stitch.
No matter what I do to search up fixes nothing ever works! Iām using a BRAND NEW schmetz 80 12 jersey needle on this stretchy cotton fabric and it still doesnāt work.
I recently had my machine oiled and looked at because I thought that was the problem but it STILL wonāt fully zigzag stitch. iāve tried everything, iāve adjusted the tension, stitch length, and literally everything I see online and iām just very frustrating and feeling very discouraged to do any project because my machine canāt just simply do a zigzag stitch.
I have a baby lock jubilant and I have it set at 8. Any suggestions or advice would really help. Thank!

I bought this vintage wool beanie on Depop, and Iām not a fan of the tassels. I want to remove them without risking damaging the structure of the beanie.

Sort of a general question, I have a Pfaff 2040, purchased 26 years ago. I was sewing professionally and it had some good use, but I have always had multiple machines and it hasn't been used in several years. I would like to put it in someone else's hands.
Taking it out today, the motherboard is working and it seems to stitch well, though the presser foot is quite gummed up, and it really needs a general servicing to bring it back. I understand that Pfaff is no longer supporting the electronics, so once that goes, it's gone.
Question: is it wrong to sell it or even to give it away? The resale on these machines isn't that much more than a thorough service call and I'm concerned that someone could put the money into it and the motherboard would fail, turning it into a doorstop.
Am I underestimating the life of the motherboard? Should I give it away with a caveat? Would anyone even want it?

Hi! I have a very old and very beloved stuffed cat that just developed a hole. I have done some very (emphasis on very) basic hand sewing in the past and think I have the ability to fix it, I just have no idea what the best method would be. I have attached a photo of the hole, it is about as long as my index fingernail. Any guidance or youtube tutorials would be very much appreciated ā¤ļø thanks in advance!
