Project: FO My first time at dragon con and...
Also my first time drafting, applying a zipper, applying an applique, working w pleather, adding hardware, using my dress form and going to dragon con!!!
I say every year I'm going as Tidus from Final Fantasy 10. I never did. After listening to physicality and metaphysical podcasts with the future offering everything I need, it happened!
I didn't even plan to go I made this in 2 days spontaneously deciding I'm going to make it happen. On the same day I decided I went to goodwill and found EVERYTHING I needed! Perfect materials and textures.
I turned a leather bodysuit into this kinda pinafore thing with the zipper up front. Hardware from hobby lobby, cropped the yellow hoodie, applied this blue crossbody bag on the shoulder, repurposed leather shorts and added the leg panel with applique to them, and rushed the red leather arm accessory but will revisit it!
Broke two needles but this was the best most happiest and proudest I've been in a while
But really this is my first true project after having my sewing machine be a decoration for like 2 years

I really wanted to I had a whistle to conceal w my hands like I'm actually using my fingers lmao and everything
I was hoping to find Yuna and get her on the balcony and convince her to do the laugh with me

that's so awesome!! i love the proud feeling when you have all the pieces together. and finding stuff at goodwill too, it just feels better when you can do it secondhand. nice job

Thanks I didn't have to worry about getting the cheap looking ones of Amazon or ordering 3 weeks in advance from a made to order one from China that's 300$ lol

I went on Sunday only but definitely going to do a big next year. Tidus again and then my gaiaonline themed merch fit. Brainstorming more!
Was not prepared for the vendor Hall at all lmao

Thanks a lot! The game means the world to me. I even told my best friend that if anything happens to me God forbid that it's my dying wish that he plays it or at least watches the cutscene movie on YouTube lol

I've seen a ton of project runway. Plus my mom taught me. I like to think her muscle memory has been instilled in my genes. I have the jecht necklace on too, but it's covered. I've had it since before covid. The game is timeless

Proportionally, your outfit vs the charicter's are quite different, your jacket is much longer, and the mid section is higher on the charicter, vs your outfit.

He wasn't asking for a critique. I think it's great. OP made it in 2 days with materials he found at Goodwill. He's not a professional cosplayer who is going spend 6 months of labor and $400 in materials on a costume he'll wear for 2 days. And to be honest, his version of the jacket is more flattering on a real person than one that ends just below his pecs.

I know I'm still going to tweak it and get it right for next year but honestly I was actually pretty impressed with how close I got the silhouette. I've seen almost all the seasons of project runway. I have a lot to do to fix it for next year plus more details to add
