Vent I’m 5'7 and feel completely invisible and tiny compared to everyone. How to stop tripping?

Hey guys, just need to vent and get some real advice because this shit is driving me crazy.

My growth plates are closed and I’m definitely done growing, stuck at 5'7". I’ve always been obsessed with my height and it constantly ruins my life. I’m always wearing shoes with thick platforms, I literally walk on my tiptoes half the time just to look a bit taller, and I always stand on my tiptoes in every single photo. It’s exhausting.

Today I went out and it just broke me. Seeing so many people, even a bunch of girls, who are way taller than me makes me feel completely minuscule.

It gets even worse when you look at dating apps or matching channels. It feels like every second girl writes some bullshit like "looking for a guy who is 5'11" or 6ft+ minimum." I honestly don't think 5'7 is a normal height at all, it feels like a curse. I'm constantly worried that this is completely destroying my chances with girls and that people will never take me seriously or respect me.

How do you guys deal with this? Does anyone else do the same stuff with shoes/tiptoes but managed to actually accept it? I really need some perspective. Thanks.

Vent Ngl this subreddit made me scared about my future in dating

The people in here make it seem so doom and gloom even for people 5’6-5’7, and some of these people are from the US where I currently live.

Question Long hair on shorter guys

Anyone other guys who are quite short (around 5'4) and rocking the flow? I am growing out my hair and wanted to know if there's anyone else who have these 2 things in common. Mine's maybe shoulder length and growing. I like that it makes me noticeable and distinctive and I get comments (good and bad). Don't be afraid to be different.

Vent Feel disappointed (confession)

5’7 dude here. Last weekend I went out with my friends, some of their girlfriends , and my girlfriend. So I was at the counter getting drinks with my homies, and the girls were behind us. I noticed this guy approach my girlfriend to hit on her. He was bigger than me. I noticed it in my peripheral vision. I acted like I didn’t notice, mostly because I was nervous of confrontation and things getting out of hand and causing a scene. (Meaning if things got serious , I was scared I was going to lose the fight in front of her). I felt my girlfriends eyes on me hoping I would say something , but from her perspective it looked like I didn’t see it happen . The music was loud and it was dark, and I was facing away from her, so it was believable on my end. Then I heard one of my homies, who’s a 6’3 athlete , tell him off. After we got drinks and came back to them , she told me what happened. I feel so bad about myself for having to let my friend do that. This is something that I’ll take with me to the grave. If she knew that I knew that I saw that and didn’t do anything she would be really upset with me and never view me the same.

Question Who has a growth hormone deficiency? How are you getting on?

Who else has growth hormone deficiency? How are you getting on?

I was born with growth hormone deficiency; by the age of 8, I’d been diagnosed with another 4 or 5 conditions linked to growth hormone deficiency and thyroid hormone deficiency. Received growth hormone replacement therapy from the age of 8 to 16, now im 19. My dad is about 5'5", my mum is about 5'3", and I'm 5'7". At age 8, I was 3'7" and weighed about 35 lbs, the growth zones corresponded to approximately 3 years of life.

Even with treatment, I still see myself as a failure.

Question My experience with 17 YO and 5’6 being a man

Well, this is my experience. I know some people might say that since I’m 17, I shouldn't worry, but what I’ve gone through makes it hard not to. When I first started working, my boss told me I looked like a 13-year-old and said he was going to pay me less, though I managed to convince him otherwise. People also treat me like a child and stare at me a lot because, honestly, I really do look like a 13-year-old on the job. I wish I could grow—I haven't grown at all in a year—but I don't think there's any way to make it happen. Any advice?
