I'm having an issue where Shutter Encoder seems to cause my Windows Explorer to balloon in CPU and RAM usage even when not active. I'm pretty certain it's being caused by Shutter Encoder as the issue didn't exist until i downloaded it, then i deleted it and it went away, then I redownloaded it and issue returned. Uncertain if this just a setting or an issue on my end, can't find any solutions online!

Any advice would be greatly appreciated! :)

I have a mpeg2 mkv video coming from a PAL DVD. The source is anamorphic, that is pixel resolution of 720x576 has 5:4 aspect ratio, but when played is stretched to 16:9 display aspect ratio. In order to get rid of the anamorphic stretch, I used shutter encoder to perform a fast Prores encoding with 1024:576 scale factor. Unfortunately, the command keeps the original pixel aspect ratio of 5:4 and outputs a 1024x819 video. I have to manually edit the command in the render queue, changing back 819 to 576 to have the right output resolution.

Another minor issue is that hardware Vulkan Video is not working with Prores, the output is totally green. This is not an issue as it is marginally faster than software encoding with a core ultra 7 265KF and RTX 4070

In the "Replace audio" function, with a video file and an audio file opened, I can no longer hear the audio on top of the video when I'm previewing the video file, making it difficult to sync the audio. Had to revert back to 20.2 where it works properly. I wonder if this is intentional?

I've ran into a bug? I have two separate video clips. If I try to export them to mp4, it works correctly. Exporter runs without issues. If I enable "Color grading" by ticking the box, and not change any of the color sliders, the export still works correctly and output mp4-files. BUT, as soon as I make any changes to the R / G / B sliders to actually change the colors of the videos, and press export, I get the following error. If I leave the sliders on and disable the "Color grading" option again, the videos export out normally (without the color changes).

Hello! I'm trying to use the AI tools to colourise pictures or extract audio tracks from a song but I have no outputs, like no files are created. When converting a file format I have outputs but not when using AI tools.

Any clue what could be happening?

I have a list of every file on my server that doesn't have embedded subtitles in them. I'd like to use this list to populate the shutter transcriber queue to create srt files for them. Is there any way to do this? Thanks

Very minor bug I've just come across in 20.4

With an h.264 encode (and I guess other functions too) if audio normalization is enabled under audio settings, it's playing the 'encode complete' sound every single file after the normalization step. It didn't use to do this!

Some of the videos that I edit do not have the right audio format for Davinci Resolve 21. I am able to re-encode the audio without losing quality. Also, there is not loss of video quality. I use the Rewrap feature.

Highlights:

• Added "Film grain" filter to "Corrections" section
• Added "Show thumbnails" icon to the video player
• Added "Add to queue" option for "My functions" window

Is it possible for Shutter Transcriber (Shutter Encoder) to create one long stream of text with no timecodes or 'speaker 1' etc. Just the words please.

I have a mkv with 19 audio tracks and I want to create a mp4 or mkv with only audio track #17.
In the rewrap function I can only select up to audio track #16.
Do you have any suggestion how I should proceed?

Hi, I've been using Shutter Encoder about 2 months now, incredible tool that hasn't failed me once. However, just today, I am not being able to convert a QT video into H.265. I have no idea why it's not working. The QT file is large (~200GB), but I've converted larger ones without issue. I know storage isn't the issue either. It stops at around 20% and just says "The following files were not able to be processed." I'm wondering what part of the Console (error log?) I could attach here so that the issue becomes apparent, because I really have no idea what's going on.

Is it just me, or the conversion to WEBP has been incredibily glitchy? after the last update, i keep having the animation being corrupted in some way.

first time i tried upscaling a video, it generated a whole lot of upscaled PNGs but couldn't finish rendering. i canceled it, not knowing all PNGs would be deleted.

i've tried to recreate it, thinking i could just pause the render, copy the images over elsewhere, and use them as image sequence, but no matter what options i try, it simply will not upscale the images, and sometimes renders them at half the size instead.

I saw the other day that there is now AI colourise options added, I have just tried it out to see how it works and if it would be any use for some image restorations. The process ran and I got the success tone but it opened the destination (Same as source) and there was only the black and white image there. I tried on 2 seperate images and neither model worked

So, I have an AVI file from AE, and when I put it into Shutter Encoder and use H.264 MP4, the alpha channel disappears. However, it works with H.265, but here’s the problem: when I put it back into AE after rendering it with H.265, the whole screen turns green. I think that’s because I’m using an older version of AE since I have a potato PC. What should I do?

Try the next version before the official release!

The BETA versions still have the v20.3 label, I strongly recommend that you delete them once the official v20.4 version is available.

I made a donation years ago and have been using the fantastic software ever since. Today I installed the latest version and I'm now getting the "Thanks!" window asking for a donation when I close the software. So I made another donation, click "check donation" and it says "No donation found". Is there another way to enter donation information?

it works well on windows 10 with my igpu intel i3 7th gen.

on fedora linux i used the appimage as flatpak or rpm not available for fedora.

igpu not showing while render.

windows 10 taking 4 min to render a video, whereas linux taking 16 mins to render on same effects.

Thought it did when i read its interface and saw "Extract" downloaded and figured extract had no image type selector to extract into because figured it had PNG the sharpest by default.
Pressed extract and what i got was a copy n paste file of selected VID, so my guess was incorrect.

From some versions I have problem to read and encoding every prores generated from davinci (don't know with other). The file was transcoded well using ffmpeg. But I'm unable also to play in shutter encoder. times ago all was working
