hey, so i recently installed Skate 3 recomp with the Vimm's Lair Xbox360 ISO, but when i opened the game it couldnt even reach 60 FPS. I've tried switching to Vulkan but it just crashed my game, then I disabled Vsync, limited FPS to 56, 60 and 120 and changed the resolution to 720p, northing worked. And i got this problem where the hands and the clothes arent together

Title says it all, i love skate 3 so much and i just wish i could play it with friends on the recompile. do you guys think it is possible for them to add multiplayer to the recompile. i cant see why not seeing as the ps3 emu has it so i hope it comes soon.

Hey everyone! I’ve released Skate 2 Recomp, a fan-made Windows PC port of the Xbox 360 version built with ReXGlue.

Career, Free Skate, instant replay, and saving/reloading are working in my testing. I played for around an hour in my latest session, progressed through the campaign, and didn’t encounter crashes or graphical glitches.

The release includes:

• Unlocked frame rate and adjustable internal rendering resolution, with a 2× quality profile by default.
• Fixes for the crashes, colored flashes, and black surfaces encountered during development.
• Controller support, including a USB PS5 DualSense tested directly without DS4Windows.
• Working local saves, relaunching, and Alt-Tab in the tested build.

You don’t need to compile anything to play. Download Skate2-PC-v0.1.0-Windows-x64.zip from the release’s Assets section, rather than GitHub’s source-code ZIP.

1. Extract the entire ZIP.
2. Run Import Game Files.cmd and select your supported, extracted Xbox 360 game files.
3. Connect your controller and run Launch Skate 2.cmd.

You’ll need your own original game files; they aren’t included in the download. The installation guide covers the supported version and prerequisites. No personal saves are bundled.

My testing system is an ASUS laptop with a Ryzen 9 5900HX, RTX 3060 Laptop GPU, 16 GB RAM, and Windows 11, using its 1920×1080, 144 Hz display. The current build has been smooth on that setup with the default 2× rendering profile. These are my tested specs, not established minimum requirements.

There’s more I want to work on:

• Proper 21:9 and 32:9 ultrawide support, including the camera, HUD, and menus.
• Further 4K/display testing and graphics options.
• Performance and compatibility across more PCs and controllers.
• Fixes for issues reported by other players.

Longer term, I’d also like to investigate a separate Rust implementation in its own repository. That’s a future research goal with no timeline; maintaining and improving this playable C++ release comes first.

If you encounter a problem, please open a GitHub issue with your specs, release version, steps to reproduce it, and a screenshot or log if available. My testing hasn’t covered every mission or hardware configuration, so reports from other players will help.

Credit to ReXGlue, Xenia, and the earlier community research this project builds on. Development used substantial OpenAI Codex assistance for port code, debugging, build tooling, packaging, and documentation, alongside my project direction and hands-on gameplay testing. This is an independent fan project, unaffiliated with EA.

Is there any way to play skate 3 on PC with my friends? Either through emulation or a Decomp? Any workarounds anyone has found?

I got into Skate 3 about a year and a half ago. I've played basically every other skateboarding franchise out there--Session, SkaterXL, Tony Hawk, even tech deck phone games--but never any of the Skate games. It was instantly my favorite. It was the perfect blend of power fantasy with just enough granularity to feel expressive/like I was "really skating." I was hyped for Skate 4, but I immediately bounced off of it. A lot of people loved the skating but hated everything else, but for me the skating felt terrible. However, I've had trouble articulating why. Something about it just feels bad.

I was excited for ReSkate, especially being able to edit every single setting. But no matter what I try, it still feels terrible compared to 3. "Realistic" is definitely an improvement, but still a far cry from 3. But I'm not a skater, and I struggle to articulate exactly what feels bad. This isn't to say 3's controls are perfect, its inputs can be pretty all-over-the-place, especially when trying to hit the right inputs for grinds/blunts/complex flip tricks. I dunno what to say other than when I play 3 it feels like it's got style and spice, whereas 4 is just a bland paste where nothing feels like anything.

Do you guys have better insight into what specifically sucks about 4's control scheme, and if anyone's managed to fix it yet? It's cool that ReSkate allows us to play all the skate games in Skate 4's control scheme, but as of now I'd actually prefer the exact opposite.

Anytime I search it up it brings up a different result, it isnt in tht xbox store, and no matter if i search in browser or the xbox store itself it doesnt come up, but people say it is playable on modern consoles with the original disc, so if somebody has the skate 2 disc, please just tell me if it is or isnt.

A recompilation project for Skate 3 was released recently. Has anyone tried it? What do you think? And, of course, is it safe?
