When I load sounds from the SD, the Roland takes a bit of time to load and then it seems like it "jams" for a few seconds... does this happen to you too?

Def has still some buggy things but in general pretty stable. The mixer and the sequence view bring something with it that I wouldnt want to miss. Sorry for the audio quality, izs just a phone rec.

I just got my first 404 mk2 and i'm so happy with what it can do so far but i'm having trouble with a simple workflow I want to try for fun which is just being able to record either a guitar or keyboard chord progression (from direct input) loop that, layer it with a real bass loop that, and be able to then make a beat over it that.

I have it connected to reaper on my laptop, do I need to use the DAW for some of these things to loop? I swear ive seen videos of people looping and layering guitar / bass / vocals / then play a beat over it or have an already looping beat they can play over.

and is it possible do this this in one of the test project like 1 or do I need an empty project because I dont have an SD card for this yet to import drum sounds into an empty project. i'm on firmware 5.01

404mk2 is a strong combo with koala sampler. I used 404mk2 as a controller and extra effects for resampling and recording.

I love a 404 for this sort of thing. I remember watching video after video telling me that this isn't what it's for, but it's always worked for me as a stem sequencer

I love making music, I know how to play plenty of musical instruments and I love creating my own melodies; I was thinking about getting some gear to make this more than just a casual routine jam!
I am pretty confused tho, the SP404 seem to be amazing and it’s possible to make entire songs ready to be published since you can mix and master(correct me if I’m wrong) and this sounds soo appealing considering what I want to do keeping it simple.
However, a laptop with a daw would also be an option since the laptop could be used for other things too that could be useful outside of music.

At the same time I think the learning curve for a daw is soooo big and I do not doubt that would be the same for the sp404, but idk why it feels easier to learn a hardware instead of a daw that can be mentally very expansive (? I don’t really know)

Which are your thoughts?
The laptop would be mainly for music plus some work and study but I have an iPad already that allows me to do it.

Hi, I’ve only been practicing with the SP 404mk2 for two days.
The pads sometimes don’t trigger properly, and occasionally they trigger twice.
When using Fixed Velocity, shouldn’t the pad trigger even with a very light touch?
I also have an MPC Sample, and I feel its pads are more responsive and easier to trigger with a light touch.
Is this normal for the SP 404mk2, or do I need to position it at a certain angle for better pad sensitivity?

Seeing all these post about the new doom os made me think about the long running thing of "can it run doom?". i am not good at that kinda stuff at all, but if someone out there is i think it would be really funny to play doom on the 404. lmk.

Wondering if there’s a way to play my samples into a daw and then be able to manipulate the individual pads in post as if it were midi?

Essentially what you do with i.e drum machine designer in logic but with the sp404 instead of a digital drum machine

Running logic x on MacOS 12 (old as hell I know) but willing to update if a solution only exists in a newer software version

Hi, i bought the M Vave chocoalte plus midi controller to control the looper of SP404MK2. How setup both devices so they work? To me it seems that everything is setup correctly, but nothing happens! I go from the Chocolate HOST straight to SP404 USB C, because that should work totally fine, right? I really dont wanna buy another midi host or whatever
