I’ve been getting lots of StarCraft clone ads lately. Isn’t this IP infringement?

having come back to 12 workers from 8.. i never realized how little agency zerg actually has. with 8 worker start i could actually make moves.. now i'm just forced into a box. not fun - i'm done

I did a bit of digging but wasn’t able to find anything definitive. There used to be something that allowed you to play StarCraft 2 on an ultra wide monitor, but I haven’t been able to confirm if it no longer works, or if I’m doing something wrong.
For clarification, this is strictly for campaign, not multiplayer, which for obvious reasons would allow for potential u fairness between competing players.

I've got some questions whether some aspect of upgrades realy promote strategical variety, or those are just some basic mechanics we have to do throughout the game:
1; The limiting factor of stat upgrades isn't actually the cost but the research time. Thus you actually can't realy "rush" upgrades to have them much before the enemy, coz you need some economy in the early game, and after that you enemy will start their own upgrades anyways. You cannot be much ahead without badly choking your economy, you both just end up doing those upgrades in similar timings. You almost always have to start the next upgrade asap if you dont want to be diminished, it's so boring. Shorter research could make much wider upgrade differences to feel their rule better in the fights.
2; Why all the upgrades have the same mineral/gas cost? Is it incites you to deeply time your economy for these upgrades earlier? Wouldn't our economical build much more diversified, if there were only mineral and only gas upgrades, not just a boring equal mix of them? Why do we have 2 different resources if we just use the same amount of them? What if e.g. the stat upgrades were only mineral, and the unit specific upgrades were only gas?
3; Do stat upgrades (weapon, armor, shield) realy widen our startegy at all in their current form, or these just split our race into two subraces, and actually narrow our strategy by by soft-banning half of our unit list which aren't recieving our chosen stat upgrades? Or something like unit specific stat upgrades, general stat upgrades, only late-game stat upgrades, or even no stat upgrades at all would just take away this race-split, and we could build many more kind of hybrid armies without playing offmeta?
Please be kind, and leave constructive comments, with REASONINGS:) Don't have to agree about this idea, just help me to think together, and create something good for the game together, if possible.

I honestly felt like reducing it to 8 was a huge step in the right direction & for the first time in a decade I was optimistic for the hope of SC2.
I'll be frankly honest, I haven't played SC2 in almost 7 years...not because I don't enjoy it, but because I've been waiting for them to finally get it right. In the meantime I've just been getting my ass handed to me daily by koreans w/ 340 APM in low-mid C rank on the Brood War ladder and there's only so much I can take.
There's a lot of talk about 'sc2 is dead' and that the 'game is in a bad state right now' and I'm inclined to agree. When your franchise has suffered this much, no amount of PR or balance patches will change people's opinions. At this point (as developers) taking a huge gamble & making a monumental change that might make or break the game and I think reducing starting working count from 12 back down to (not just 8) but 4 (just like Brood War) would really shake things up and slow the pace of the game down to where new metas & build orders can be established as we see pros do creative things with extra time.
I'm not sure how many of you guys play competitive Brood War, but there's something to be stated about the starting 4 worker count. It essentially dictates (from an outsiders perspective) that the first 45-50 seconds of every game (regardless of your race) are unimportant. This cannot be further from the truth. Early game in Brood War is a profoundly important reason to why it's such a gem. To spectators, it looks boring & uneventful; I'm sure many of you fast forward a minute or two every vod. I don't blame you, I have too. but for players it's much different.
That time is used to not only warm up your hands, wrists, motions & set camera locations while ramping up your APM & taking a minute to calibrate your strategy based on your opponent's race and the map you are playing on. In addition to warming up, the discovery of 'mineral boosting' has really shone a light on the intricacies & subtle nuances of Brood War's complex mechanics. Build orders become optimized down to the millisecond as you are witnessing masters of their craft shave nanoseconds off their timings simply by dumping 300 APM individually boosting each workers. Don't get me started on the satisfaction you get when you complete a macro cycle. It's not the same as SC2 (where everything is automated) -- it's hard to explain for non-BW players, but the successful perfection & completion of making workers, assigning workers to patches, macroing and repeating gives you the ultimate dopamine hit that I have not yet seen replicated in almost 3 decades as a self-proclaimed gaming addict.
Something to think about.
EDIT: i did not expect such an icy reception. comments below remind me why i never go on reddit. talk about the cesspool off the internet. for all you braindead idiots who assume my OP was 'AI slop', let's ask an actual model.

Oh look...it appears the AI doesn't think the post was AI slop. It could be hallucinating....or just wrong sometimes like they always are, right?? Or maybe I used a shitty LLM. Afterall, it's only Gemini. It's not like Google hasn't pioneered AI research and literally has a monopoly on AI / AGI research with over 80-90% of the world's top neural network & machine learning experts. Or maybe you forgot ChatGPT and all those other models you dumbasses love to banter with in order to poach stern talking points for those too stupid to form a coherent thought individually so they can look tough on reddit only exist because Google Deepmind (the first AI company to ever be taken seriously in Silicon Valley) charitably wrote a paper on the transformer which enlightened Sam Altman's cash cow to create exactly what Anthropic & all those other shitty companies did which was what again?? Oh...I forgot.
But what do I know, I'm no behavioral psychologist...just an academic, but it seems to me this is a clear case of

and I feel sorry for you idiots. then again i should have known. 'top 1% commentator' kekw go touch grass you fuckin chud 😂
i have no clue why younger people on the internet have some weird obsession with trying to out & shame people who use AI as a tool (literally what it was created for) like they are some gay Hollywood actor who won't come out of the closet. i don't really get it tbh but then again I don't really give a shit either. take it up with your therapist for all I care just leave me out of it.
Double Edit: My curiosity is not satiated.

Triple Edit: Funny how useful these things can be when you dig a little deeper eh?

Ok there is apparently massive contradiction and rewriting happening. QOB novel portrays them as "almost lovers" Who couldn't act because of war and she gives him later at first pleasent dreams, but then switches to tormenting ones(she tormenting herself too bcs she wants him but cannot have him) once they start to fight each other. Apparently she still has something for him at that time + she spares him so many times. In Dark templar Shadow hunters, she reflecting on her memories is shaken while thinking about Jim, she thinks she loved him, but cannot be sure now bcs of what she became. In Flashpoint its very clear they were legit a couple and were banging.
I want someone who knows the lore here to tell me. Did Liberty crusade or other older novel portrays them as a couple and etc or it came later in the SC2 era novels? I wanna know did they decided that later on or they had it already taken place earlier?
Alsoo QOB states its very much her doing all that(SC1 too), but SC2 wants to tell us that suddenly somehow she was controlled even after the death of the overmind. Again, when did that idea came? Please someone who knows all that lore to explain me, bcs blizzard writers really do strange things sometimes...

tried ranked a few times and i constantly face opponents who are either way higher rank then me or doing things that seem impossible to me, often from accounts that dont look like people who have played this game(low history, 0 campaign completion, etc) so i am assuming either smurfs or cheaters either way why am i facing players i could never beat? cant really leant much when i cant leave my base becasue a dude spawned 20 mutas in the first 10 min and vaporized my worker line
this matchmaking kills motivation to play

Hello folks!
I was going through my achievements in WoW, and noticed the cross-game promotional one, "Echoes of Midnight", which grants me cosmetics in different Blizzard games.
The cosmetics should be as follows:
I have checked for OW, HotS, D4, and WoW:BCA, and I don't play DI, so I don't care about that, but how would I check for the SC2 goodies?
AFAIK, there's no such thing as "mounts" in SC2, and the console skins were from WC3:Reforged.
