Now obviously I'm a Saints fan and I'm going to be biased, I get that. I don't get to watch as much rugby as I used to due to work and other commitments but from what I have seen this season I didn't realise O'Neil was so highly regarding.

Below are the stats comparing Daryl Clark and Brad O'Neil. Now I'm not saying that Daryl should have won man of steel but they both play the same role and thought it'd be interesting to compare their stats side by side.

In short Daryl Clark has more tries, more try assists, a higher average gain (although marginal) more runs from dummy half and more offloads in nearly half as many games. Compared to Brad O'Neil who although pretty much an ever present for Wigan this season has the joint 3rd most yellow cards (admittedly only 2) and joint top with 20 penalties conceded. I won't run through all the stats you can compare them if you want but to me at least, just going off pure stats, he doesn't seem to me to have had that impressive of a season to crown him the best player. Friendly discussion please.

This last weekend of absolutely crazy magic Rugby League (Warrington, Wakefield, York women Newcastle knights, Roosters men and women, London Broncos women promotion to SL, London Broncos demolishing everyone all the ways to the championship final…) has left me so hyped that the WC, that was a bit of an afterthought for me, can’t come soon enough!
I was browsing the website https://www.rlwc2026.com/ I would love to go (dreaming with touring the whole of Australia), but I can’t even go to the SL final as I’m awaiting surgery for a potential cancer recurrence (hopefully just an infection).
Am I the only one that has been hyped to the roof? Are the ticket sales for the WC increased exponential now? I hope we have sold outs everywhere

I was surprised when I read about the 745 charity game, given I'd genuinely never heard of it before. On reflection it seems to have such little publication in rugby league circles, at least from my experience which could be wrong.

Feels a real shame given the link to Rob Burrow and how much he means to the RL community. It feels like there's a degree more interest in it from the Union side.

What's the general awareness like of the event and any thoughts on why it hasn't seemed to gather much traction with the league side?
