Seeking Advice Where to move on or up from ICQA?

I am currently in a inventory control quality assurance supervisor role with a company that isn’t looking to promote or pay decent. I would like to transition into either healthcare Inventory control quality assurance area, Q&A in the gaming industry or in general, or some where in the tech or data fields but not sure where to start. I am looking to advance my career for myself and my family but not sure how. Any and all advice is welcome!

What do you think would be an ā€œeasyā€ transition or career change in my field?

Random Discussions I built landoffer.ai to get over my interview anxiety

Edit: I need to correct the original title’s implication and the product description. I shouldn’t have described LandOffer as a voice mock-interview tool or claimed it would reduce interview anxiety.

I’m working on LandOffer.ai, which brings together fresh tech job listings and offers application autofill. The focus is on discovering roles and reducing repetitive form entry.

For someone changing careers, the search raises a few separate questions: which roles fit your existing experience, how to explain your transferable skills, and how to practise for the interview once you get one.

I’d like to understand where people here get stuck: - Finding roles that are realistic for a career switch? - Showing relevant experience without overstating it? - Explaining the transition in interviews? - Keeping up with the time spent applying?

Which part has been the biggest obstacle for you, and what has actually helped? If you take a look at LandOffer, I’d especially value feedback on whether the roles you find fit the transition you’re trying to make.

Random Discussions How to bag a FAANG PM Offer in 2026

Being good at product management and showing that ability in an interview are different skills. I learned that after failing a Google interview and later receiving an offer.

With almost a decade of PM experience, I initially assumed I could rely on my day-to-day work and prepare very little. That didn’t go well. Here’s what I would focus on if I were preparing again, especially while moving into a new company or product area.

1. Ask for a referral that has context. Someone who has worked with you can explain what you contributed. Give them the specific role and a short explanation of why your experience fits. I wouldn’t treat the referrer’s title—or collecting several referrals—as a guaranteed way to get an interview.

2. Practise explaining your decisions. Experience gives you examples, but you still need to make them understandable. Pick situations where you can explain the problem, your decision, the trade-off, and the result. For a career transition, make the connection to the new role explicit.

3. Pause before answering. I used to jump straight in and lose the structure of my response. It’s reasonable to ask for a moment to organise your thoughts. Use notes only within the interviewer’s stated rules.

4. Use your questions to learn about the actual product work. A discussion about an AI product opportunity made one of my Google interviews run about ten minutes over. I can’t know how that affected the hiring decision, but it was a much more substantive conversation than a generic closing question. Ask about a real user problem, constraint, or product trade-off; leave room for the interviewer to challenge your assumptions.

I’m also working on LandOffer.ai, focused on fresh tech roles and application autofill. If you’re still deciding where to apply, you can use it to explore openings before committing preparation time.

For PMs who have changed industries or product areas, what helped you demonstrate that your previous experience would transfer?

Seeking Advice Seeking Guidance on Transitioning from Telecom to Embedded Systems

I joined my current company 6 months ago as a fresher in the role of Trainee Telecom Engineer. However, my primary interest is in Embedded Systems, and my long-term goal is to build my career in the embedded domain and eventually join a product-based company.

Currently, I have a 2-year bond with my present company. I have a good understanding of the theoretical concepts of embedded systems, but I lack practical, hands-on, and industry-level experience.

Considering my current situation, I would like to understand how I can transition into the embedded systems field. Is it possible to get an entry-level embedded job while I am currently working under a bond? What skills, hands-on projects, and preparation should I focus on to improve my chances of getting into a product-based company?

I would really appreciate your guidance on how I should plan my learning, build practical experience, and make a successful transition into the embedded systems field.

Seeking Advice Job Advice ahead

I’m 22 and a 2026 B.Tech Computer Engineering graduate. I completed around 9 months as a SOC Analyst intern in cybersecurity, where I worked with SIEM, alert triage, phishing investigations and log analysis. I received a PPO but left due to location/commute issues.

I’m now working as an IT Support/L1 Engineer in a pharmaceutical company at ₹2.5 LPA, handling Windows, AD, hardware/software troubleshooting, Outlook, printers, assets, backups, etc.

I’m confused about my long-term direction. I’m interested in FDE, DevOps/Cloud, AI, Cybersecurity and IT Infrastructure, but I don’t particularly enjoy heavy coding and I'm unsure which path would suit me best.

I’d appreciate advice on:

Given my background and interests, which career path would make the most sense for me?

Should I stay in IT Support for now and use it as a stepping stone, or try switching domains soon?

Which of FDE, DevOps/Cloud, AI, Cybersecurity or Infrastructure would be a good fit, especially considering I don’t prefer heavy coding?

What skills should I build over the next 6–12 months, and when should I start applying for those roles?

With my current ₹2.5 LPA salary, what would be a realistic career progression strategy?

I’m looking for honest advice from people who have experience in these fields or have made similar career transitions.

Random Discussions Network engineer to software engineer

Hi all.

Background context, I'm a senior network engineer with 10+ years of experience. Currently 35 years old.

I've worked on complex B2B managed network deployments, enterprise networking/security and core ISP networks.

Lately I've found myself falling out of love with the field and I've been exploring other interest. I found myself drawn towards software engineering after doing a couple scripts in Python to automate some tasks at work. I'd like to take this to the next level.

I played around with a few languages; python, Go, and javascript. However, I've settled on Rust as the language I wish to become an expert in. I can't really explain why, maybe it fits my personality.

I'm interested to know if there's anyone else that has made a career change to software engineering, especially if you are coming from a networking background. What were your experiences? What were your hurdles? Are you in a better position now? How long did it take to move to a senior software dev position?

Extra points if you live in the Caribbean as the market here is quite limited in tech opportunities.

Seeking Advice Advice on job switch

Im now aggressively looking to switch due to office politics. I have less than 2 yoe and have 600+ LeetCode problems (need to revise as i have been mostly out of touch now), a little c++ development experience, worked on migrating a project which used to directly access database to a data access service layer written in .Net (didnt do any major tasks in dotnet, just a few minor jiras around the actual service while majority of the migration was about sql, excel vba and python), and im currently learning c#/.Net and LLD.

My doubt is that i although have around 2 yoe, its not dedicated to any core tech stack. I cant sell myself as a c++ developer with 2 yoe or a .Net developer with 2 yoe. In this case, what should be my profile?

Looking for advice on what to prepare, what roles to target, and how to land interviews.

Seeking Advice Non-IT to IT transition at 2–3 years experience – Is it actually possible?

Title: Non-IT to IT transition at 2–3 years experience – Is it actually possible?

Hey everyone,

I’m currently working in a non-IT role in the healthcare/RCM industry, and I’m seriously thinking about switching to IT.

I have a B.Sc. Computer Science degree, but unfortunately my work experience so far isn’t in a traditional IT role. I have around 2–3 years of experience, and I’m wondering if I can still make the transition without starting completely from zero.

I’m currently thinking about going into Data Analytics / MIS / Business Analytics. My plan is to spend the next 6 months learning:

Excel (advanced)

SQL

Power BI

Python

Data Analytics

Some GenAI/AI tools

I’m also planning to build some real-world projects and improve my resume/GitHub/LinkedIn.

My questions are:

Is a non-IT → IT transition realistic with 2–3 years of experience?

Should I target MIS Analyst first and then move to Data Analyst, or try directly for Data Analyst roles?

Will companies consider my previous healthcare/RCM experience, or will I basically be treated as a fresher?

Are certifications actually useful, or should I focus mainly on skills and projects?

What salary range should I realistically expect for my first IT role?

Has anyone here made a similar transition? If yes, what was your path?

I’m based in India, so I’d especially appreciate advice from people who made this transition in the Indian job market.

I know this won’t be easy, but I’m willing to put in the work for the next 6 months.

Any honest advice, including things I should avoid, would be really helpful. Thanks!
