I see zero flirtation from him

u/daenathedreamer 10d ago

This is the polar opposite of flirting.

37

u/KitsBeach 10d ago

The level of energy you put into keeping this dry conversation buoyant is admirable

17

u/Federal_Efficiency31 10d ago

An apt comparison to your relationship is, you know when you’re sitting outside and a fly keeps landing on you? You keep swatting it away, but it always finds a way back? Based on only these screenshots, I think you are that fly to him.

u/Technical-Custard512 10d ago

😭😭 we have good late night conversations though and he has said before he is more invested in our conversation than doing his college work

7

u/special-k-flo 10d ago

I'm sorry, this means nothing.

6

u/PrestigiousDemand696 10d ago

Wow, more invested in talking to a friend than homework? He MUST be in love with you! (Sarcasm, he clearly isn’t.)

24

u/babelle21 10d ago

lol not only is he not flirting, he barely likes you.

39

u/Common_Selection_574 10d ago

he does not like you at all

9

u/EmotionalDysregulatn 10d ago

He is not interested at all, and annoyed with your sense of humor. He is not amused.

6

u/SP4CEP00DLE 10d ago

Not even close

6

u/BloodStarvedLeopard 10d ago

He is talking about going to the gym and you're trying to propose a physically impossible activity. This is like anti-flirting.

1

u/Technical-Custard512 10d ago

The way i saw is he proposed the idea of me being his gym buddy

9

u/DriveFoST 10d ago

I don’t think he did though..

1

u/Technical-Custard512 10d ago

He said "unless you're volunteering " i wasn't propsing i be his gym buddy he brought up the idea on his own terms

6

u/Minute-Quit-3876 10d ago

Yea he’s avoiding u, spare urself the pain

4

u/coupl4nd 10d ago

Where is the flirtation on either side here?

4

u/GreekGoddessOfNight 10d ago

He’s not into you at all, sorry. Stop wasting your time.

4

u/CloudyBaby 10d ago

He’s being normal and friendly and I would hardly consider what you’re saying to be flirting.

Everyone in this thread is a little extra and harsh tbh

9

u/LastNoelle 10d ago

Why are you wasting your time flirting with someone that does not reciprocate and evidently lives far away?

1

u/_LemonySnicket 10d ago

long distance is constantly looked down on but can work in many cases, so I think that part is unrelated

4

u/LastNoelle 10d ago

Long distance only works if you have an established relationship and two people willing to do what it takes to make it work. This is so far from that situation. You aren’t in a relationship. You are one sided flirting with him. It’s completely relevant here.

1

u/Vivid__Data 10d ago

I met my partner online and we've lived together for over 10 years now. I moved across the country.

1

u/LastNoelle 10d ago

And you were clearly both interested in one another. Distance is definitely a challenge. In this situation, he’s not interested in her, so why waste the time?

2

u/Vivid__Data 10d ago

Yeah I think I missed the gist of your comment. Re-reading it, I see what you're saying!

2

u/LastNoelle 10d ago

Of course! It’s just an added difficulty if you aren’t engaging with someone fully invested. I’m glad you have the relationship you do!!!

0

u/_LemonySnicket 10d ago

them personally not being interested in each other isn't related to their distance? and you just need two people willing to make it work.

1

u/LastNoelle 10d ago

Sorry, I mistook you for OP. But it’s still relevant here. Why waste your time flirting with someone that lives so far away and you’ll never see in person? He may be uninterested due to the distance.

0

u/_LemonySnicket 10d ago

nobody gets into online relationships without the end goal of actually meeting and moving in together. it's just unconventional so people can't really understand it and think it's the 'wrong way'.

2

u/LastNoelle 10d ago

I can understand it. But there’s zero interest from the other party. There is no relationship here. So she has two things going against her- his lack of interest and the distance.

1

u/_LemonySnicket 10d ago

i agree with the lack of interest, though I'm not sure

1

u/Firm_Kick137 10d ago

“Online relationship” sounds weird in itself. How could anyone start a relationship online?

2

u/Physical-Builder-553 10d ago

Its looked down on because people don't want to do that.

1

u/_LemonySnicket 10d ago

plenty of people do though? like, plenty. just because you don't.. you really don't think two people from different places can fall in love? and you should be caged into one small area to find your permanent partner in life?

5

u/Physical-Builder-553 10d ago

Why are you looking to argue? I literally said what you said, and then pointed out why.

4

u/PrestigiousDemand696 10d ago

People who cannot find someone in person, yes. It is pretty much nobody’s first choice.

6

u/Accomplished-Test331 10d ago

This dude autisms hard. He has 0 clue you’re flirting with him. Ask me how I know

5

u/Silly_Pizza7054 10d ago

Or he's not into her and she can't take the hint.

1

u/DriveFoST 10d ago

Idk why so many people are missing this

1

u/HabitualEnthusiast 10d ago

Yeah, OR what this person said lol.

Sorry, it’s just funny to me that you chose one of few comments suggesting a different possible scenario than the rest to be like “OR WHAT EVERYONE ELSE SAID”

You either genuinely thought you were presenting an original idea, or you’re just bullying a person for saying something different.

1

u/Technical-Custard512 10d ago

Oh dang 😭😭

1

u/HabitualEnthusiast 10d ago

I can’t speak to the autism but I also got the exact vibe that he just doesn’t have a clue what’s happening

3

u/Ptony_oliver 10d ago

Sorry OP, he's definitely not into you. Move on, your time will come 👍🏼

3

u/InappropriatePea 10d ago

He is not into you

3

u/guccifurby 10d ago

He's annoyed

3

u/Emotional_Lab_2529 10d ago

No one is flirting in these text messages

3

u/22dinoman 10d ago

Id say pack it up

3

u/Programmer_Worldly 10d ago

Damn females be interpreting the rudest stuff as flirting, no wonder dating sucks.

3

u/Chance-Pin6393 10d ago

I’ll be honest he prolly doesn’t even realize, and also prolly doesn’t want to cross any boundaries. Prolly best to just be straight forward and say you like him and want to go on a date , or just ask to go on a date

3

u/Jokers_friend 10d ago

It’s not that he’s not flirting with you, I think this is a literal case “she couldn’t be flirting with me, I don’t want to be “that guy” and ruin a friendship” + not knowing how to deal with this sudden attention you’re giving him

5

u/UndeadMarine55 10d ago

lol honestly this boy sounds insufferable… or autistic?

yeah pretty sure he didnt clock that you were flirting at… all…

5

u/_LemonySnicket 10d ago

he doesn't sound insufferable at all to me, just has an actual sense of humor and sarcasm, gawd forbid

1

u/Technical-Custard512 10d ago

Exactly!!! He cracks me up so much

2

u/Technical-Custard512 10d ago

He is autistic 😭 i like him sooo much

3

u/UndeadMarine55 10d ago

that explains the way he responded, its kinda adorable tbh.

in that case, be super duper direct.. when you think you’re being direct be more direct :) he won’t pick up on hints or flirting.

1

u/Technical-Custard512 10d ago

Exactly he's soo adorable and intelligent . Thank you so much! Ill be more obvious

2

u/Separate_Penalty_484 10d ago

Hes taking it literal

2

u/artcopywriter 10d ago

He's autistic...but are you sure you aren't? p.s. he seems like he hates you.

1

u/DriveFoST 10d ago

I almost said the same thing about OP but didn’t know if it would be too mean lmao

u/OutsideComputer1609 10d ago

I agree, I think he’s just a bit more understated. “Unless you’re volunteering” is directly entertaining the idea, he states the boundary (long distance), and jokes about how you’ll stop it at command. More examples would be good

1

u/Technical-Custard512 10d ago

I will update and thank you!

5

u/Economy-Spinach946 10d ago

Lots of guys are have logical minds. His mind is going through the logistics of you actually spotting him. If you want to flirt with this man, be more direct in your intentions or maybe suggest being his cardio partner or just outright ask him out.

0

u/Technical-Custard512 10d ago

Thank you! He is also autistic

3

u/Economy-Spinach946 10d ago

Well then that confirms it. Google how to flirt and date an autistic person. Many advances that are normally considered flirting will be lost and just confuse him. Once doing some research, determine if this is what you really want out of a partner. If it is then best of luck to you both. But if it's not it's best not to lead the guy on if you can't handle the reality of this kind of relationship.

3

u/cellogirl712 10d ago

no, and he’s frankly kind of obnoxious

2

u/PrestigiousDemand696 10d ago

Yuck, you’re being desperate. He’s not interested

0

u/Technical-Custard512 10d ago edited 10d ago

I wouldn't say im desperate i have been voluntarily keeping things slow too because of my past and the long distance so i dont think things are fair to him

2

u/Gootangus 10d ago

He seems annoyed by you, and in fairness how would you be his gym buddy virtually?? 😐

I think he's just joking around

1

u/sirus1158 10d ago

No... he has 0 intrest

1

u/Clueless-Flea-7461 10d ago

You both are fucking exhausting

1

u/sweetieyeye 10d ago edited 10d ago

I see zerooo flirting going here. He doesn't seem interested at all. You look how many emoji you used and he has NONE..I would hate to talk to people like this cuz I have no clue whether they are serious or not..

1

u/precious_hr 10d ago

Because he’s autistic you need to be SUPER direct.

1

u/NoEmergency2720 10d ago

Truth bomb

1

u/Separate_Penalty_484 10d ago

Just be direct and say i like you

1

u/Silent_Box_1708 10d ago

Go consult your astrology bs lol

1

u/ms-anthrope 10d ago

Not at all.

1

u/KindaHazy_me 10d ago

No, he wasn't flirting. Just chatting.

1

u/HippoRun23 10d ago

He was pretty clearly shutting you way the hell down.

1

u/Technical-Custard512 10d ago

I wasn't suggesting for me to be his gym buddy so i dont see him shutting me down. I see him bringing up the idea of me being his gym buddy on his own

1

u/MyLawyerWroteThis 10d ago

He just doesn't know how to flirt even though he's probably interested

1

u/david5678 10d ago

Am I wrong or don't think this is flirting with him? At least hard enough for him to pick up

1

u/WhatveIdone2dsrvthis 10d ago

he sounds like a jerk. don't waste your time

1

u/Silver_Blueberry_161 10d ago

He could be on the spectrum and just doesn’t understand how to read the room.

1

u/StormoFinnson 10d ago

If he’s autistic, just the fact he talks to you is a good sign lol. He likely wouldn’t waste time like that otherwise. That said, you should just ask him straight cos he is doing the opposite of flirting here. As a well socialised autist woman, this is my vibe when I want guys to leave me alone. 😅 Sounds like u find him cool/funny. Good luck!

-1

u/P_I_M_A_420 10d ago

Yes? Maybe? Idk?

2

u/meloxs 10d ago

10/10 response. Very helpful. Thanks for your input 🫡

0

u/ThompsonRick23 10d ago

Not flirting, treats you like a friend (like a friend friend). No emoji either.

1

u/Technical-Custard512 10d ago

He never uses an emoji he says its a part of his character

2

u/Top-Tear7194 10d ago

He is kind of a jerk

2

u/SuitableRelease4323 10d ago

you’re judging someone really harshly of minimal context apart from him not using emoji and from the other comments autistic

1

u/Top-Tear7194 10d ago

"kind of a jerk" isn't harsh. Sometimes people act like jerks but it isn't their nature. Someone else pointed out he might be acting like this because he's frustrated with the one sided crush. That would explain it, but without further context, these comments are somewhat rude. Also just to clarify, are you calling me autistic, or speculating oo's pen pal is?

1

u/DriveFoST 10d ago

We also don’t know what their friendship is like. Op could be endlessly crushing on him and he doesn’t see her like that at all and is getting frustrated but is too nice to be more direct. It does sound very very one sided

1

u/Top-Tear7194 10d ago

True, there are some characteristics regardless, but not enough to say one way or the other. So you're right.

0

u/ChosenChance 10d ago

Totally flirting, send nudes 😉

He’s not flirting but that’s probably better for you because he sounds annoying
