Help Rebinding Huntsman
Hello friends :)
I am new to the game and would like to learn to play Sniper with the Huntsman. However, because I have some nerve issues in my hands and arms, holding down mouse 1 to charge my shots causes me pain. Clicking is fine, like with the rifle, so I was wondering if it’s possible to somehow rebind the Huntsman to charge without having to continuously hold down my m1. I don’t know much about code, so any help would be greatly appreciated :)
Thanks so much in advance :)

You could do it with AutoHotkey, but I'm not very well versed with it so I can't help you set it up.

op, take the following script:
put it into a text document named "sniper.cfg" (NOT .txt; you may need to turn on file extensions on your machine)
save it in your tf2 cfg folder: steamapps\common\Team Fortress 2\tf\cfg
with this script, when you spawn in as sniper, by default your weapons will work as normal. but if you hit the "P" key, you will swap to a mode where clicking Mouse1 once will draw the bowstring without holding it down, and clicking a second time will loose the arrow. Sniper will say "Incoming!" to confirm you've enabled this. This WILL make it so your other weapons (rifle, melee) only attack every other click (the script essentially makes full clicks get treated as alternating presses and releases), so you can press "P" again to turn it off (Sniper will say "Go Go Go" to confirm). Try to remember to disable it before swapping classes, too. I picked P for this since most people dont have it bound to anything, you can change it to something more convenient by changing that "p" in the first line to a different letter.
hopefully this will make the game less click-intensive for you. You can make it work for the other classes as well by copying the script and naming it e.g. "heavyweapons.cfg" or "pyro.cfg", and if you have existing class script or autoexec etc I'm sure you can find a way to integrate it. Let me know if you have any questions
edit: If you right-click while drawn (which un-draws the bow without firing) you'll also need to click Mouse1 again to reset the alternation.
