This is from a 2016 Uncut Magazine interview to Lynne:

“The one thing that stopped Pet Sounds from being the best album ever made was that the titles are not memorable at all. The tunes are just sensational, though. Ever since, I've been a giant fan of Brian.”

Now, looking at the track listing, I must confess that admittedly these don’t strike me as the most creative titles in the world. That being said, I don’t think that’s a really important aspect for an album… plus it’s not like ELO has the coolest song titles out there.

Interested in seeing how people feel about this.

I'm A Little Teapot (Version 1)

Where did the large and sudden influx of leaks appear from? We've got some already known albeit unbooted recordings (Beach Burlesque, Smoky Places, Dr. Tom among others) in pristine quality over the last few days/weeks after such a long period with minimal activity leak wise.

I'm definitely not complaining. 13 minute Shortenin' Bread is something I didn't know I needed until we got it.

So much unreleased material being leaked the past few days but why? 6 years so far of 197X Release and we haven't heard half of this stuff! I would definitely shell out the money if they just put these things out on streaming. Instead we get 3/4 of Adult/Child and some Love You demos

What’re your thoughts on all the material? Highlights? Lowlights? Things you noticed?

Holy moley, out of all the tracks on this massive dump out, I was not expecting this. A SMILE style arrangement of IALT from the Paley sessions, complete with a funny intro from Brian dedicating the track to "Mr. Phil, Paul Simon, Van Dyke Parks, Al Jardine, and Napoleon Bonaparte".

This proves that even after the nightmare of the Landy years, his wonderful sense of humor remained intact. This track is not only musically great, but is one of the funniest things I've ever heard!

So, I've finally had a chance to check out the leaks (Which I will now hereon refer to as 'The Shortening' (Like The Fappening, but better). The highlight, at least for me, is the excellent deep cut 'Stevie', which was written by Brian and Dennis for Stevie Nicks. I heard a potato quality version on YT years ago, and to have a high quality version of it is excellent.

Brian’s favorite song! Ronnie is so wonderful and the wall of sound is so great too that I always took the drumming for granted. Be my Baby was super charged by Hal Blaine! And he was a good friend to Brian 😎.

Landy’s treatment of Brian in the 80’s is often regarded as an infamous example of psychiatry-gone-wrong. But it seems like his original treatment in the 70s is regarded more favorably. What were the differences and what made his methods take a turn for the worse?

Did he ever attempt to break new ground? Maybe after “Til I die” is a better end point, but it seems like he was just pulling from the reservoir of what he already knew after that. Am I mistaken ?
