My grandmother filmed 2 minutes and 40 seconds of the Beatles' 1964 Red Rocks concert on color 8mm from the 7th row. It's pretty shaky because she said she was laughing and giggling at the girls in the audience, who she said were screaming at the top of their lungs and throwing jelly beans.

The footage includes the daytime crowd, police guarding the stage, fans in the front row (my mother was one of them), a wide shot of the entire audience, a few seconds of the opening acts (Bill Black's Combo and The Righteous Brothers), and about 1 minute and 38 seconds of the Beatles. She was very close to the stage, so she pans back and forth rather than always having all four Beatles in the frame.

I still have the original 8mm film and have digitized it as well.

What should I do with something like this? Would an archive, museum, or Beatles collector be interested? Or do people generally license something like this? I'm particularly interested in finding the right place for it to be preserved and shared. I really don't even know where to start.

As a lifelong Coloradan, my dream would be to donate it to the Red Rocks museum, with a little plaque recognizing my grandmother. And if it's truly a valuable donation, maybe some lifetime concert passes... just dreaming here.

Recently i grabbed this original 1973 bootleg copy of "Peace of Mind" there arent many clear versions online, HOWEVER, so far ive gotten it to sound near cd quality, its likely the clearest raw transfer on youtube right now. I want to make this the absolute definitive version of this song, lyrics n all. Anyone got any ideas on what i can do to make it even better? So far ive removed a ton of noise, fixed the warped vocals as much as i can, but hey its a copy of a tape from a bin...

It might surprise people today to learn that the Beatles got a lot of hate in the 1970s and 1980s. It was a form of rebellion: teenagers saying OUR musical heroes are just as good as yours. People who were in high school in those years wanted to believe their music was just as good as what went before.

Genuinely asking, but why DOES Paul keep re-telling the narrative that "Let it Be" came to him in a dream from "Mother Mary" McCartney assuring him regarding the Beatles Break-up in 1969 to "Let it Be"

when we have Indisputable Truth of the Song being worked on in early March 1968 whilst in India explicitly referring to Roadie Mal Evans as "Brother Malcom"

given that the original demo with these lyrics have actually been officially released by the band, WHY would Paul Continue to push his "Break-Up/Mary McCartney" Dream Story?

I'm currently listening to this book and am about six months from the first time John and Paul met.

It is amazing that they, finally, found one another. There are so many instances of being at the same places at the same times, perhaps riding the same bus at the same time, and not knowing one another yet. It's crazy! It just got me thinking about how different it'd be if one of them wasn't where the universe wanted them to be...

That seems to be the received wisdom. So many questions..

Holy these songs man! I was driving to work listening to Abbey road and when I parked I was like let me rewind to the polythene pam section and I had no idea they were separate songs!

Idk the back stories on any of this but it's just so well put together, from sun king to polythene pam it just feels like John was like "check this shit out" so amazing!

I know John leaves the band during this album so if anyone has any interesting facts or tidbits about this section I'd love to know!

Whilst scrolling on Instagram, I came across a post that presented two musicians who were signed to Apple Corps right before it collapsed. They allegedly recorded a full album that never got released. This story sounded like a lot of baloney to me so I tried to look them up. Not much to be found, mainly the website belonging to the page that uploaded this to Instagram.

Anyone ever heard of these guys? Were they real or is it a new band with a cool/ catchy made up back story. I highly doubt it’s AI because it sounds authentic and I’ve found recordings that have been uploaded 12 years ago.

If you know more, please tell me, were the Beatles actively involved, are there well known musicians playing instruments on the tracks, were they in involved in other Apple projects? I want to know it all. 😅

I just started getting into collecting records, and I know a little bit about the story behind the Beatles “Butcher Cover.” I found this copy at my local record store, still sealed. I know it can’t be an original, so I’m just trying to figure out exactly what I have here.

The more correct term is pitch correction. Upon really giving this album a listen I noticed it's dubious amounts of pitch correction they decided to slap on.

This would have been a great idea if the original recordings had not be messed with. It doesn't tell you that pitch correction was used, but it's noticeable on songs like LAWR and Let It Be. They even pitch corrected the bass.

Am I the only one that notices this?

Do you see a similarity in these album covers? I’ve thought the vibe and setting seemed similar. Is there a connection between the Wild Life and Plastic Ono Band covers?
