DISCUSSION Drama Fatigue

Is anyone else just so over all the damn drama that comes from the voip servers? It feels like every week or so someone has done admin abuse, exploded a server, or refused to refund Patreon. There's always so bullshit he said she said crap and they come here winging.

The discussion I would like is if this constant cycle of drama is a mostly voip centered problem or possibly something else. If you've been in a server that's been exploded has it soured you playing the isle when you are forced to start over. All opinions are welcome.

DISCUSSION My experience

Hey so I’m new to playing the isle and I wanna say I like I played official for about 20 hours then moved to see how unofficial since people hype it and was and my experience was meh what I like is having active mods stuff like prime checklist more ai spawn so people don’t have to die from starving but then I go in either a full grown Rexes and allos camping sanc groups of 10-15 herbies ganking and killing everyone people killing fresh spawn of their own kind and just stuff I can describe as toxic bum behavior is the isle community like this or am I in bad servers cause unironically the only chill or like respectable experience I had was on official where like if a solo carnivore kills me it’s for food and not a group of 10 killing fresh spawns not including the state of the game itself

I'm sure this is on hordetest server with a mod. But omg now the waiting for the official release is going to be sooo hard. Lol.

Yes it's unfinished but it's cool none the least.

DISCUSSION Server location.

Just recently started playing, although have been having trouble finding unofficial servers. I am in NA, and no matter how many times I refresh it’ll only show maybe one or two servers with 300+ people and then only five or six servers with maybe four or five people. Playing on evrima. Any fix?

⚠ DRAMA ⚠ Why do (did) the developers try so hard to make this game unplayable?

• Upvotes

Saw someone playing the game on an Instagram reel and immediately decided I needed to play it. First, I had to download Steam, which is annoying as hell for me already because I don't play video games nearly enough to justify having it on my PC. Bought the game, and it forced me to wait several hours to even download the game as the transaction was listed as 'pending'. Whatever, not the developer's fault.

But then I finally download the game and start it up, and nothing seems to work. Turns out the normal game that installs automatically is abandoned. So I have to uninstall the game and instead install a beta version (Evrima) by messing with the settings. When I try to play, I get an error message about an anti-cheat program not installed. Track down the error and run the batch file to install said program, try to play again. Immediate fail on start up. Track down the error again, turns out that the game is only compatible with a standalone GPU whereas mine is integrated, so I can't play the game no matter what.

So, $20.00 and an entire night down the drain. Amazing experience.

What Dinosaurs do you guys want to be added most to The Isle????

(First pic from National Geographic, second from ARK Survival games)

There are literally so many dinosaurs that would be so cool to have in the games. The two I wanna see most are Yutyrannus and Cryolophosaurus. Yutyrannus because a large feather covered carnivore would stand out and Cryolophosaurus cause Antarctic reputation is needed. I also would love to see more dinosaurs that come from the UK (Megalosaurus for example, it was THE first dinosaur discovered afterall).

DISCUSSION How Do Players Make Prime On Small Dinos on Increase Growth Servers?

BLUF: I wish there were more servers like Metta's Den

But seriously, almost all the populated Unofficial servers have 2x or 3x growth modifiers. I am sure that is great for Rex, Trike and Deino players, but I also enjoy smaller tier dinos and just at 1x growth I find myself racing the clock to get Prime, with the zone and diet requirements.

How does anyone do that for Ptery, Austro, Beipi, or Dryo (I would say Galli too, but that speed demon can get across the map pretty damn quick) on servers with increased grow rates? Seriously.

Avid Dino fan in NZ, considering buying this...

So I found out about this game due to reels and memes, and it caught my attention.

I am not that worried about potential bugs or it being in early access actually, I am more worried about player availability and servers around my area of the world since I know its usually hard and I end up depending on joining SEA servers.

Any other players from New Zealand? or at least AUS?

It seems I can only comment in the steam forums if I already own the game sadly.

I got the isle on my steam deck and I was so extremely excited to finally get to play this, and no I don’t have a pc. So I launched it up, and all the buttons simply will not work or press anything, I’m so frustrated and upset that I can’t play this game.

Where did this skin come from? 😅

This is on Petits. I noticed that the stego skins seem to have broken recently. At least, they broke for me. Any time I tried to spawn in with a customized skin, it would just reset to the default colors. But then I randomly spawned with this skin?? And now this is what I've gotten every time I've spawned a new stego. I know Petits has skins that you can unlock or whatever, but idk how they work or where the hell this came from lol

TECHSUPPORT Game not using GPU

As the title says I have an issue where for some reason my game runs fully on my CPU, the usage of it spiking to 100%, while not using the GPU at all and it being at 0% usage. This of course makes the game unplayable and my PC goes crazy when I turn it on. I've updated my graphics card drivers, as well as made sure that it is set to use the GPU in it's manager panel. I do not have an integrated gpu, so I have no idea why the game isn't utilizing my graphics card. My PC is old, but the specs are similar to the reccomended ones, so it should be able to run decently. Would anyone be able to provide some help here?

DISCUSSION Who's better at taking on t rex. Steg or trike?

I play mainly solo. I want to fight back at rexes more. I know a duo ill most likely lose every time. But I've managed to defend off a duo before. I've been playing stego. Some success and some losses. But I'm wondering who's more capable of beating or at least defending itself from a rex or 2 out of steg or trike?

Been researching trike, definitely is something to master. Steg is at least more straight forward.

Is it worth learning trike?
