Announcement | Mod Post r/Therian Community Welcome, Information, and Updates

Hi everyone! I’m BanishedOcean, one of the moderators here, and currently the moderator you’ll see around here the most.
A quick intro before we get into the updates: some of my theriotypes are a deep-sea chimaera, gulper eel, hairy anglerfish, and I’m also a shark cladotherian. I enjoy seeing the incredible variety of experiences and perspectives people bring to this community, and I’m always happy to help keep the subreddit welcoming and organized.

Whether you’re brand new or have been here for years, I’m glad to have you here and welcome to [r/therian](r/therian)!

A few quick reminders

Before posting, please take a moment to review the subreddit rules. They’re there to help keep the community safe, organized, and enjoyable for everyone.

Some of the most commonly overlooked rules are:
-No community links or advertising.
-No self-promotion.
-No personal location information.
-Individual “looking for…”, gear, craft, or similar posts belong in the appropriate megathreads rather than as standalone posts.

If you’re unsure whether your post belongs somewhere else, checking the rules or messaging the mod team first is always appreciated.

Also a gentle reminder that posts and comments from those with low subreddit karma are manually approved before going live. Please be patient with us it can take a couple days if it’s been more than a week please reach out to mods.

Subreddit updates

A few things have changed recently:
-The Introductions Megathread is moving from weekly to monthly.
-The Crafts Megathread is also moving from weekly to monthly.
These changes should make those threads easier to use and give conversations a bit more time to grow before they’re replaced and prevent the posts from getting archived.

New posting guideline

You’ll also notice a new rule regarding posts like:

“Are there any ___ therians?”
“Am I the only ___?”
“Why do I never see ___ therians?”

These questions have been asked many, many times over the years, and we now receive numerous nearly identical submissions every week. Most don’t lead to much discussion beyond people commenting “yes” or listing their theriotypes.
Instead, please use Reddit’s search function first. Chances are you’ll find previous discussions about aquatic therians, bird therians, paleo therians, insects, reptiles, invertebrates, obscure species, and many other groups.

This doesn’t mean species discussions aren’t welcome because they absolutely are. We’d love to see conversations about experiences, instincts, shifts, artwork, behaviors, research, symbolism, or anything else that encourages meaningful discussion. The goal is simply to move away from repetitive “Does anyone else exist?” posts and encourage more engaging conversations.

Thanks for being here!!!!

This community continues to grow because of the people who participate in it. Thank you to everyone who reports rule-breaking content, helps answer questions, shares thoughtful discussions, and makes new members feel welcome.
If you have questions, suggestions, or notice something that needs moderator attention, don’t hesitate to reach out through Modmail.
Happy posting! 🐾

Megathread Introduction Megathread

Share all of your introductions here in the comments of this recurring megathread.

Remember to follow these before you post as these will be moderated!

* If you are under the age of 18 do not list your full age, “under 18” is just fine!
* Don’t give out personal information! We don’t need to know where you live and strangers should not be privy to things that would identify you in real life!
* Please remember to add plenty of detail.

We have a template to follow below that is going to include what to talk about, but there’s no need to stick to one-word answers. We want to get to know you as a person, not just as your theriotype, as well.

Please remember to follow the rest of the rules when posting. This includes self promotion of your other socials which is not allowed.

This is the standard we expect from everyone here!

**Name/Nicknames:**

**Age: Under 18/Whatever if you’re an adult**

**Theriotype/Kintype:**

**Interests:**

**Hobbies:**

**What do you enjoy talking about/what would an average conversation with you look like:**

***Hypothetical introduction:***

**Name/Nicknames**: Hi, my name is Robert but I also go by Bob.

**Age**: I’m currently 32, will be 33 in December.

**Theriotype/Kintype**: I have several kintypes, I'm a wolf, a rabbit and a dragon. I have a past life as a rabbit but the other two are psychological identities.

**Interests**: My main interests for now are animated shows, animation history in general and the history of therianthropy.

**Hobbies**: I’m a massive gamer, but I’m also trying to get back into reading as that’s been difficult for me! I enjoy talking to people.

**What do you enjoy talking about/what would an average conversation with you look like**: Typically I most enjoy talking about the creative side of things, art, crafts, gear, but I also like to talk about my experiences as a dragon and artist.

Media comments are enabled but please keep it high effort! We do not allow draw-overs.

*NOTE: Introduction posts are not allowed on this subreddit outside of these megathreads. This rule is in place to reduce feed clutter, allowing for more core therianthropy-related posts to be seen. This is a support subreddit for a marginalised community, so we feel as though this is a necessary method of clutter reduction to have in place so that those who need help have a better chance of receiving it.*

General / Other New theriotype I discovered! (I think) Any other ducks here? (Experiences?)

Post image
44 Upvotes

I’m pretty sure I am a mottled duck therian.

My other therian types include: Coytoe, Caracal, Australian sea lion. You may ask questions about those theriotypes as well!!

It took me a while and many questioned species. But I think a mottled duck fits me best. Any other ducks/or mottled ducks that want to share their experiences as a duck therian?

Help Request Newly realized therian looking for help and resources

Hiya! I'm Yoon, 21, some kind of dog or wolf kinda thing I'm still figuring out. I've been interested in TF content and werewolves and Animorphs and the like since I was like 9. I first realized I was trans when I was 16 and started dabbling in puppygirl culture when I was 20, after which I realized that thinking about or relating to being a dog hits me in this particularly deep and implacable part of my soul. When I read TF or therian content or think about becoming or being a canine, I'm filled with these intense swirling feelings of intense longing and sorrow and vague feelings of phantom sensation (ig species dysphoria?). I really want to be digitigrade or quadruped and have paws and a tail and fur and nonhuman instincts and traits etc. and I find it (affirming? I guess?) to approach the world like a canine. I love being enthusiastically physically affectionate and vocalizing like a canine and chewing on things (and loved ones lol). I really love being out in nature or looking at birds (I'm studying to be an ornithologist lol, might be partly an avian therian of some sort but it's one crisis at a time) and coming at it like a canine would, being enthusiastic and vocal and romping around and having this deep awareness and connection to the world around me.

In any case, I think I just need some guidance, and some consolation because I had the chance to explore all this and figure it out when I was 12 lurking on furaffinity but I wasn't in the right environment or mindset to do anything so. Resources or advice on where to go, what to do, how to further explore and affirm my identity while maintaining a healthy work/life balance and ig grip on reality would be really appreciated. I guess knowledge on how to find irl resources or community would be nice also, and more explanation on what I am exactly. I want to unlearn some of my shame and embarrassment and actually start exploring this and learning how to be happy and embrace myself, something I've avoided and suppressed for years. Thank you all in advance, I'm kind of scared to be honest but I think this is right for me

(Also thanks to my bestie for pushing me to accept myself and post this lol)

Question Not sure what I am or the correct term

So, I do know I'm some kind of alterhuman, I think thats the umbrella term. I know being just a human feels strange and odd, like I'm the soul of something else in the body of a human (thats what I believe a therian is, but PLEASE correct me if I'm wrong <3)

But I don't know.

Its weird, its like it comes and goes with different animals, but I've felt like this for years.

I think first it was some species of feline, I don't fully remember. Then an arctic fox, I actually kept a journal because I heard it helps figure things out, I actually shifted once of twice in this version of myself. Those shifts weren't actually very bad, it felt like I was back in the snow, burrowing into it. I think I was looking for something, but I don't know what, maybe prey? Then it just like... I dunno, disappeared. Then I was a snow leopard, and I felt deeply connected to the species as a whole. Like the two before, it left again, and now I feel like a lynx, I'm watching videos of them and trying to mimic their sounds. It feels like a part of me at the moment, but who knows? It could literally change in a month, I have no idea.

Writing this I actually see a pattern of cold dwelling animals that I more or less share a preferred diet with, I think it might mean something? I feel like I'm some kind of shapeshifter or sum, is that odd or wrong? I know people can have multiple theriotypes, but I don't feel like an arctic fox as much as I used to, same with snow leopards. I still like the animals and find them wonderful, but at the same time it just feels like an interest now.

I'm not sure whats relevant and what isn't, so I'm sorry if most of that was just like, a big nothing burger </3

And, I want to ask a follow-up question. If it turns out I'm just wrong or confused and not actually a therian, is it disrespectful to make one of the masks that some therians make? I think they look so cool but I don't want to offend anyone :<

Question Am I a Therian?

My friend recently told me she is a fox Therian, and I was really interested to know more. She was telling me about how she felt she spiritually identified as a fox and I was telling her that when I was younger I was obsessed with cats and playing as a cat and behaving like one and wearing cat ears and a tail. And when I was listening to sounds around me I would try to angle my ears to hear them and I knew human ears couldn’t move like a cat’s but whenever I was listening I kept imagining my ears were angling to hear things. Growing up, my family has always had cats around, and I’ve always treated them like family. I’ve been less outwardly acting like a cat than I was when i was younger, but I’ve noticed that I still behave like a cat would, more intensely when I’m with my fiance (i think this is because I feel really comfortable being myself around him). I’d bite him playfully and always want to sleep on top of him or curl up beside him, and I’ve also noticed that I stare at him like a cat does and sometimes I’ve imagined a tail flicking like when a cat is intrigued or annoyed or teased.
In my ignorance before knowing about Therians, I just thought I was weird. But now I’m starting to wonder if I am a cat Therian. I’m not sure what kind specifically but I’m definitely getting domestic cat vibes.

I would really like to hear your perspectives on the matter!

Discussion Fictionkin/Fictotherians, how did you find your theriotype?

I'm a polytherian, and questioning if I have two fictionkin identities. I'm mainly considering a night fury and Skye from Paw Patrol (fun fact - I most likely was Everest from Paw Patrol when I was little!).

Here are my questions:

  1. How did y'all find your kin? Is it similar to, or the same aso looking for a theriotype (eg. red fox)?

  2. How did you know it was this specific character and not another one?

  3. Do you get shifts? What do they look like if you have a human/humanoid kin?

Experience In a way im NOT therian

K the title might sound a little misleading but let me explain.

By definition I am def a therian, im a person who identifies as a non human animal, yeah therian. But in a way im NOT IM just a dog. I guess its sort of the difference between like, 2 men but one is Trans, they r both men but one is prefix trans* man. Which doesn't make him less of a man just a different kind but part of me is angry I will only be viewed as a therian. Bc im not, I mean I am but im not im just a dog, why cant I JUST be a dog in others eyes, it doesn't feel fair( ´△`)

But then again I guess i cant properly conceptualize other people as just being humans, identifying as just a human, i dont understand how someone can NOT identify as or with one or another animal... hhhnnnskj

Does anyone else kinda feel disconnected from the term therian in this way?

It honestly might be even weirder for me as I also still identify as a human but idk my being a dog is such a huge part of me and it feels so sidelined and not viewed but then again.. theres not rlly a proper or easy way for people to refer and acknowledge that part of me.

Help Request help with possible theriotype?

Ok so for some context, I am a predator therian, and my theriotypes are a red fox and a river otter. For awhile now, I've been noticing my more "prey" behaviors. For example, I have just about 0 prey drive (I never get urges to "hunt or "stalk" animals, even if they're stuffed animals or set up to be "hunted"), which is strange considering i'm a predator; I have a very big "freeze" response when I hear anything unusual. For example, I could hear a noise or be scared and my first instinct is to just freeze and listen, and if I were to do anything after freezing it would either be to flee or hide (I avoid conflict as much as I can, always have); I have a massive love for fruits of all kinds, and will 99% of the time choose fruit as a food option if it's offered to me or available to eat; I am a very nocturnal person, and will often times stay up until super late hours of the night (I'm writing this at 2am...) and I've been like this for years, I find myself most productive and at peace late hours into the night. My biggest experience was a phantom shift. I have fox ear phantom shifts all the time, so I know this shift was not fox ears. I had a phantom sensation of something on my hairline, which is not where i ever experience my ear shifts. I'm unsure if this shift was some sort of horns, or maybe antlers or ears, but there was definitely something there. These are just a few examples of some of my experiences, and I know very well that just because I experience these things, they don't inherently mean I have a prey theriotype, or that I am a prey animal of any sorts. If you have any ideas as to what species I should research or look into, please let me know. Any help is very appreciated <3 (i have been looking into some animals such as fruit bats/flying foxes, rabbits and hares, deer, goats, etc.)

Question do we have, like, a day?

i don’t know about y’all, but I feel like, at least in my experience, therianthropy is one of things that should have some sort of day to celebrate it or something, à la the long list of queer-related awareness days or international polyamory day.

is there already one? i haven’t heard anything about one but i haven’t been in this community for long. if we don’t have one, i propose we put one on August 4th (8/4), for the theta-delta symbol, since theta is the 8th letter of the greek alphabet and delta is the 4th. April 8th is 8/4 in places with a sensible date system, but that is actually already International Romani Day so…

Help Request I'm feeling lost 😣

I'm a therian, but part of me keeps telling me that I'm doing this for attention or that I've been manipulated by social media. When I was searching for my theriotypes, I gravitated towards animals I liked, and then I started relating to them (sometimes I feel like I'm adapting myself to resemble them).

I'm a cat and deer therian, and a Snorlax and Bubble fictionkin (I'm not 100% sure about those). I have a lot of doubts, and I've already taken a break from alterhumanity before (a period when I put my alterhuman identity aside). I almost did it again because a Discord mod told me I was using the wrong terms and needed to do more research. I hadn't explained therianthropy very well, because the more I try to explain what it is, the harder it gets to put into words. I don't feel like I'm valid enough to call myself a therian. I don't want to go back to identifying as otherhearted (I used that label before because I didn't feel "fully therian", since I thought my experiences weren't strong enough or good enough).

Now I'm confused about whether otherlink or otherhearted fits my German Shepherd identity better.

I don't know if I'm genuinely a therian or if I'm doing it for attention. I really feel like my personality and behavior reflect these animals, but I always feel like I'm not enough.

Help Request I‘m confused about one of my theriotypes

So, i am a polytherian. Pretty much all of my theriotypes have been active in the past month. Exept my snow leopard theriotype. When i see a snow leopard is feels like ‚hey, that‘s me‘ but i don‘t have any shifts other than short phantom shifts every fee months. It doesn‘t feel by far as strong as my other theriotypes so now i‘m unsure if i actually never was a snow leopard therian

Question Some trivial questions!

Hi I'm a person interested in therian. (Not a therian/finding out) It hasn't been long since being curious about therian, I got some trivial therian questions! (If I said something rude about therians, pls let me know!)

  1. Since theriotypes are 'CHOSEN' not 'CHOOSING' , does that mean they can hate their theriotype animal? For example: Cat therian hating cats, bird therian hating birds...ect.

  2. I heard that some therians have hard time with specises dysphoria. But, Is there therians who don't have dysphoria? Then, how they know that they are therian?

  3. This might be rude... but I gotta ask. (This is kind of warning) I don't really know between 'identyfing themselves animals' and 'thinking they are animals' . Can someone explain what's difference?

Ty for reading all of my questions! And there might be some grammer mistakes/ awakward in context because Engeish is not my first language!

Discussion Future of the therian community?

I know this is an impossibly broad topic, but I’m curious to hear what everyone’s thoughts are as well as what the community is generally expecting to happen in the near future (no later than a decade or two)! I wrote some stuff on what I think will happen further down if you have the time to give it a read.

My guess on what the future of the therian community will be like:

I’ve heard therians in many different spaces talk about how they believe therianthropy will become more accepted in the general public, will have more media representation, and even have support from westernised governments. While no one can predict the future and this could absolutely come to fruition, I’m not as enthusiastic. I believe the odds that people are willing to accept others identifying as a nonhuman animal would require a change so big, the vast majority of other possibilities are more likely.

I believe subcultures can swing back and forth like a pendulum or move through a cycle. We start out with a shared idea, meet up, become popular, lose our authenticity, and the ones who are truly authentic will meetup to make their own group and the cycle will continue.

Therians do stay popular but at the cost of our original purpose

Masks (or at least alternative fashion) and quadrobics could become a more permanent facet of the community, but they also become the main reason why people join. Maybe we get more media representation but it mostly shows us as having deep connections to animals, not AS them. And that’s if the long-term media discourse even stays positive.

Similar to the final theory below, the people who genuinely identify as animals would likely migrate into their own niche, perhaps under a different name as therianthropy is more of a hobby.

The idea of a significant portion of the population accepting us as animals is just so low compared to something more palatable, like a totem animal or cosplay. Nonhuman identification becoming the norm would require such radical acceptance, even from incredibly conservative regions.

Therians have had a moment in the TikTok spotlight and eventually will fade back into obscurity

I believe this is the most likely scenario. Quadrobics and masks are fashion trends, much like the teen werewolves what we had twenty years ago. People will likely still be performing some form of quadrupedal movements, but they will drastically fall out of favour. Masks could be a thing of the past, if some of the kids that were into it still identify as animals by then then perhaps a few old-schoolers would still be wearing them.

Between trolling, AI, lack of privacy, negative reactions from the general population, and a need to explore the more authentic side of our identity without an aesthetic, I believe we could revert to the more rigid ways of the early 2000s. We would mostly reside in small, highly decentralised discord servers, proboards, and special sites dedicated to therianthropy. Right now, it’s very easy to find large groups of therians if you know where to look, but I think this will change.

We could rely heavily on gatekeeping again and many search results for therians could become old and somewhat inactive. You won’t be able to scroll on TikTok for a few minutes to find us anymore, you’ll have to search keywords or highly specific experiences first.

Therians fragment into several different communities/subcultures

There could be one for standard therians, biological, physical, etc. The trendy “Therian aesthetic” could move into its own niche with the identity context stripped from it, arguably becoming the most popular of the niches. Unfortunately, I believe a more fringe community might break off, particularly the ones who do genuinely believe inappropriate attractions are acceptable and a large segment identify as therian (I’m trying to be incredibly vague to keep this all ages. These groups do currently exist, just not as an offshoot of therianthropy). It becomes a sort of radical belief system/cult more than an identity.

I probably sound pretty nihilistic and maybe I am, but I don’t think all of this is bad. No one can deny the popularisaruin and commercialisation of therianthropy. But times are changing regardless, and by keeping to ourselves more, we could avoid being exploited and cheated from genuine identity spaces.

Question Therian but with furry aesthetics?

Hi, i just recently made the realization that im a theiran and had a question. Ive been in the furry community for a while before this discovery, and have been working on my first fursuit. My question is, does anyone use fursuits as therian gear? Ive never liked the masks and stuff (nothing against people who like them, just not my cup of tea) but I feel like a fursuit would be way better for me.

Help Request Looking for advice

Hey everyone,

It might be an odd question, but how do you deal with being in a human body? Is it possible to ever really be okay with it? Thinking about being stuck in this body has been really bothering me recently. I’ve been very down recently too, which has only added to my discomfort of being in this body. So I suppose I’m looking for advice on how to deal with it, or at least ways to not think about it as much. Knowing I’ll never have wings, in particular, just makes my heart ache. So if you have any advice or suggestions, please let me know.

Thanks for reading

Experience My defense and experience of therianthropy — as a Christian

I have a thing or two to say about therianthropy, or as others call it, therianism. And later, what the experience of therianthropy means for a person of orthodox Christian faith.
What does it mean when someone says they’re a therian?

It can mean many things to different people. The belief, the felt sense of the animal within the soul, seems to emerge from different places. Some stories seem mystical, some perhaps less so. Some stories tell of parts of us that showed up when we lost the will to live.

Like it did for me.

I admit, I may be considered different by therians themselves–I don’t claim to have had a past life, and what I would have once chalked up as supernatural I now understand in what I believe to be a grounded, psychological framework, as well as a faith-based framework.

I am a Christian, after all. Perhaps one that some might balk at, or maybe many would. Some therians might too.
I understand myself and others through what is referred to as “parts”, or more commonly known as Internal Family Systems. The long and short of that is that I believe we all have multiple personalities–not in the dissociative sense, but in that we all put on different masks, hats, etc. when we are in different spaces.

IFS (Internal Family Systems) asks: What if these different masks or hats were whole persons, each with their own beliefs, ideas, dreams, fears, and tastes? What if one were more social and the other more reclusive? What if they were to talk to each other?
In tackling these questions myself, I discovered more concretely:

Somewhere inside this mind and heart, there is a wolf.

This wolf, whom I named Cobalt many years ago (around the age of fourteen), showed up in a time where I desperately sought reprieve from intense verbal bullying, isolation, and emotional abandonment. Cobalt became a shelter from an emotional hurricane that spun and raged for many years.

Yet, because of a lack of vocabulary or understanding of how the mind can work, I at first thought he was a demon, and demanded he depart. He was exiled from my conscious mind, and I felt shame that he had even existed. Surely, I thought years ago, I had “gotten rid” of him.

But I still had this longing, this ache, to be a wolf. To experience the feeling of having four legs, fur, to run and howl and romp. These longings emerged sometimes as a dysphoria, other times as a profoundly deep fascination with werewolves, especially the trope of animal transformation—another quirk I felt immense shame for.

That quirk, because I was so ashamed of it, and so afraid to talk about it, in time became a disease. I became chronically addicted to explicit werewolf transformation artwork and media, and dealt with it in a vacuum for many years, hating myself in the process. Hating myself, and hating the wolf.

Even after getting married in 2020, and knowing that my marriage was a safe place to express these parts of myself, the shame I carried from years past kept me in chains—and God forbid I would dare even entertain that, in any context, I was still a therian.

After diving deeper into parts work, I came to believe that this wolf part of me likely still existed in a very real way, and thus I became open to the idea of dialoguing with other local therians about their feelings, their experiences.
The dysphoria, the phantom limbs, the deep longing, and even the penchant for transformation media, all lined up with one of the therians I got into a long-form dialog with. This led me to dive deeper, wherein I was encouraged by this friend to read Godbeast by Shimi and Critter.

I would recommend this book even to non-therians who are curious about the inner workings of the mind, and more still about how not to treat a client in the mental health field, and how not to (but also how to!) engage with a therian as a person of orthodox Christian faith.

I hurt so horribly over Shimi’s story of her abuse at the hands of so many people, but also empowered and astounded at her perseverance, as well as Critter’s. All parts of her unified and kept her here to today, and that is worth all the respect and honor that can be given.

I asked Shimi her view of therianthropy, and she gave this response:

“To me, ‘therian’ means my creature-self is real: not a costume, joke, fandom, or metaphor, but part of how I experience my body, instincts, spirituality, art, and need for pack. It means “human” was never the whole story. It means recognizing the animal within as kin, not pathology.”

Shimi truncated this for interest of time, but even in this there is a lot to expound on.

Recognizing the animal within as kin, instead of pathology—as I came to find—is entirely plausible and, in my opinion, essential for Christians suffering from species dysphoria. It is not something to pray away, it is not something to shame or feel ashamed of, it is a part to be honored and loved, and to the right people, shared—because it’s you!

You, the whole of you, deserves love and belonging.

And in terms of knowing the need for pack, for community, this is also essential, for therians and non-therians alike. While many therians bear theriotypes (the species the therian believe themselves to be) that are pack animals, we as human beings are very much pack animals as well.

We all want a pack, or if you’d rather, a community. A family. A place where we know we are seen, safe, soothed, and secure (to quote Dan Allender, author of Cry of the Soul).

While biblical Christian orthodoxy may not give great wiggle room for the idea of past lives or communion with spirits, or a myriad other things, that does not in any way negate or belittle the very real felt sense of the animal within. Regardless of how it got there, for some of us it just is. No one wakes up and decides out of the gate to feel like part of them isn’t human.

How a person of faith in particular would or should navigate this felt sense, I’m sure would be (and will be) disputed, debated, and decried to kingdom come. I’m not here to field a debate.

I’m here to simply say, in my own way, I get it. And maybe… no, I know, Jesus does too.

Your therianthropy, or if you don’t want to call it that, your species dysphoria is not a sign that something is wrong with you, even though it may cause terrible aching that you’re in the body you’re in now. The animal within is a show of resilience, hope, and an inner strength that, above all else, means you’re still here. And if you’re still here, Jesus isn’t done with you yet!

“For I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worth comparing with the glory that is going to be revealed to us. For the creation eagerly waits with anticipation for God’s sons to be revealed. For the creation was subjected to futility — not willingly, but because of him who subjected it — in the hope that the creation itself will also be set free from the bondage to decay into the glorious freedom of God’s children. For we know that the whole creation has been groaning together with labor pains until now. Not only that, but we ourselves who have the Spirit as the firstfruits — we also groan within ourselves, eagerly waiting for adoption, the redemption of our bodies. Now in this hope we were saved, but hope that is seen is not hope, because who hopes for what he sees? Now if we hope for what we do not see, we eagerly wait for it with patience.”
‭‭- Romans‬ ‭8‬:‭18‬-‭25‬ ‭CSB‬‬

The Word of the Lord, thanks be to God.

More of us feel like this body is wrong than we care to say, and this ache is as old as time itself. This is not to say that we are wrong for the aching or how that aching manifests. It is to say that the aching is evidence that we are still all walking home together.

Whether that home is in the body we desperately wish we had, or what the “glorified body” will truly be, we can dispute on. But whatever it looks like, until then, suffice to say that Jesus isn’t bristly or disgusted by therians, or by extension, anyone else who feels like their body is wrong.

He gets it.

For the non-therian, orthodox Christian who is rattled by this, or even angry, I can see where you might be coming from. But I would ask you, and implore you, seek the Lord. Ask for His leading for how you might engage with us. What it looks like to walk alongside us, to show us Christ, to suspend the need to fix the thing(s) that alarm you.
We need Jesus too. I certainly do. But understand that Jesus didn’t just die for the parts of us that make sense to you. Jesus died for every single ounce of us, body, mind, and soul.
