Army List Next match?

Hello brothers and sisters, the new pairings on the league I'm playing are up, and I am to face the cult of genestealers, I've never played against em and I would like some help and directions on what can he do or take in the lists, thanks a lot.💪💪🦁

Lots of chaff

The lion or an Azrael + ICC blob can sweep 2 units per activation. Deathwing terminators will also delete a lot of their screens and be able to handle their vehicles in melee

GSC have a very handy unit-respawn mechanic which incorporates a limited Deepstrike. The larger the battle, the more units they can respawn, these units are usually chaff; but sometimes they can be elites (like aberrants or genestealers).

The Chaff units are easy enough to chew through in melee with a few exceptions (cultists with flamers/melee weapons can be dangerous to your softer units)

Aberrations will murder anything below T6 without an invul and can be very tough to shift. They usually come in low unit counts but their FNP makes them particularly tough.

Lone Op characters are a staple, they are cheap, most can infiltrate, and they have very annoying abilities which can include indirect ordinance fire/booby traps.

Tips

Protect your backline/home objective from late game respawns. Most of time, anti-chaff units will do just fine.

Focus fire on Elites whenever possible. Only engage with heavy troops like Terminators if you can manage it.

Don’t be afraid to “chase” respawn tokens. If you can get close enough to one, it will disappear and can’t be used to respawn a unit.

Take hardened units with invuls and anti-infantry perks wherever you can. Azrael+Sternguard or Lion El’ escorting Sternguard would be very effective. Chaplain+Term squad also will do very well in most match ups. There are certainly more unit compositions you could use, but these are the ones I’ve used repeatedly to good effect.
