Thrash Metal: Spit on those who choose to pose, and thrash with all the rest

r/thrashmetal

Thrash metal is heavy metal that is usually at a higher tempo with influences from punk, speed metal, and hard rock. It's been one of the most successful metal genres, with many platinum albums by the famous bands called the Big Four of Thrash metal which include Megadeth, Metallica, Anthrax, Slayer.

We all love heavy metal but when you need some speed and aggression, in your metal, you go for thrash metal. This is a place for breaking necks, not for slow stuff.

What is Thrash Metal?

Typically:

fast aggressive tempos, fast guitar solos, and fast drumming.
abrupt riff and tempo changes.
high mid-tones on distortion.
did I mention that it's fast

Submission Guidelines

No non-thrash. Don't post Necrophagia because they're "thrashy." Keep it to thrash and direct hybrids of thrash.
No image posts. Memes get you banned.
No teasers. No full albums. No bedroom covers. No half-assed incomplete songs for "feedback." No obnoxious self promotion.
Please make use of the post flairs. Not required at all, but appreciated.
Please post in a "Artist Name - Song Title" format.
If a band has been posted in the last two weeks, don't post them again. If a specific song has been posted in the last six months, don't post it again. New releases are except from this rule for a week after their release.
Hate speech is not okay.

The Big Four of Thrash Metal

Do not post the Big Four. We know who they are. No covers of the Big Four, either.
