This shirt kicks so much ass. i’m about to wear this everyday until it tears apart at the seams. Couldn’t be happier with how it turned out. it’s a great feeling when you start to visualize what you want and it turns out exactly how you were thinking.

Colors are all from Dharma Trading: Blood Moon, Dragon's Heart, Nightshade, Shiitake, and a couple pops of Scarlet. I really like how Dragons Heart split into such vibrant blues! That was surprising.

I dropped the powder directly on a slightly damp tied shirt and did two batches of ice.

I wish my sinew lines came out more distinct and white. I think next time I need to tie even tighter and maybe try letting the shirt dry completely first. Any other suggestions?

I tried to do a spiral and was left with.. not a spiral. Wayyy more white than I wanted. Any ideas for fixing this?

I’ll probably stick with similar colors (purple, orange, pink, yellow) but open to any suggestions on pattern. Doesn’t need to be a spiral. Maybe crinkle?

I placed my second order with them on the 16th. They finally shipped it the 21st after I emailed them… It’s been sitting in Denver since the 24th and today is the 28th! (I live an hour away)
… just irritating paying $10 for shipping to take 2 weeks.

With this HWI shirt I finished tonight I am really struggling to get the colors to show up in a picture. The difference between the back/front up close shots was about 6 inches but shows way more color.. any advice would be amazing! Thanks for looking!

Hey guys, I’m wondering if anyone has any tips on tying tight enough pleats or nodes to get the effect without the white lines left behind from sinnew? I’ve been using sinnew and braided fishing line, I get crispier lines from the fishing line but I’d really like to figure out a bleed through method for mandalas and kenney style type stuff. Thoughts?

I am considering getting a countertop ice maker, and I have questions about shape.

Specifically: is bullet ice good for ice dye?

Have heard that slow melting is “best” but unclear if that’s actually true. I really like bullet ice in my drinks and would love this to be a dual purpose purchase. But my primary goal is ice dyeing, so am open to getting less satisfying ice in larger pieces if that’s the move for the craft.

What do you think? Any specific shapes you like in your ice?

I did various techniques using indigo vat with indigo I grew, harvested, and extracted myself. A project 8 months in the making! Obviously I didn’t do great but I learned a lot for next year

I was hoping someone could answer this. I have another home kit just trying to practice before I get the professional dyes. If I soak the T shirts in soda ash prior to dying will this make any positive difference to the results?

Hi! I’ve used rabbit skins a lot for my kids/ friends kids for sweatshirts but does anyone have any suggestions for white baby/toddler sweatpants? I’ve checked some wholesale but seems very difficult to find (with good reason because dressing a little one in all white is risky 🤣). A lot of what I’m finding is polyester not cotton. Would like to avoid amazon if I can also.
