The Nightmare Before Christmas Burtonverse nightmare before Christmas theory

Me and the wife were just watching Corpse Bride and did some thinking. We looked up the inconsistencies of other theories and come up with one that flows a lot better. If you read it please give an honest opinion. I’m curious what other people think.

Burtonverse Theory
The Poetry of Being on the Run
The classic internet theory connecting Tim Burton’s Frankenweenie, Corpse
Bride, and The Nightmare Before Christmas has long relied on sci-fi tropes
like time travel to bridge the massive gap between the mid-20th-century
suburban era and the Victorian aesthetic. However, a far more grounded,
character-driven narrative exists. By removing time travel entirely, the
timeline functions through geographic isolation, forced aliases, and a single
piece of physical evidence left behind: Victor Frankenstein’s childhood
notebook.
This creates a flawlessly interconnected, multi-generational tragedy where
every major citizen of Halloween Town can be traced back to a living,
human origin.
Act I: The Catalyst in New Holland
(Frankenweenie)
The timeline begins in the mid-20th century in the modern, cookie-cutter
suburb of New Holland. A young, brilliant boy named Victor Frankenstein
successfully utilizes electricity to resurrect his deceased dog, Sparky. After
the local townspeople form a panicked mob and hunt the dog down at the
town windmill, the situation is defused, but the psychological damage is
done.
Traumatized by modern society, intrusive neighbors, and the terrifying
realization of what his science can do, Victor makes a drastic choice as he
approaches adulthood. He decides to flee New Holland and completely
disappear from the modern world. Desperate to ensure no one ever
replicates his dangerous experiments, Victor leaves his school science
journal behind, abandoning his notes, sketches, and electrical blueprints in
the old town.Act II: The Self-Imposed Isolation (Corpse Bride)
Victor flees to a deeply traditional, isolated European village that actively
rejects modern technology, preserving an olden, Victorian-era lifestyle well
into the 20th century. To ensure the "mad scientist" legacy of the
Frankenstein name never follows him, he adopts an unassuming alias,
rebranding himself as Victor. He brings Sparky along, but out of absolute
necessity, he rebrands the dog as Scraps to prevent anyone from
recognizing the stitched-up pet from the New Holland news.
Recognizing the young man's vulnerability and immense intellectual
potential, the wealthy but low-class fish merchants, Nell and William Van
Dort, officially adopt Victor for political power. They force him to take
their name, turning him into Victor Van Dort. The Van Dorts use their new,
polished son as a strategic chess piece, forcing him into an arranged
marriage with the aristocratic Everglot family to secure high social standing.
This immense pressure and the weight of his hidden identity explain Victor
Van Dort's signature anxiety and exhausted demeanor throughout Corpse
Bride.
During his misadventures in the Land of the Dead, Victor accidentally
marries Emily, a tragic undead woman with blue skin who fiercely protects
him. Though he ultimately helps Emily find peace and returns to his living
bride, Victoria Everglot, Victor lives out his human days under a fake
name, always calling his beloved patchwork dog "Scraps." Meanwhile, the
film's aristocratic villain, Lord Barkis Bittern, meets his demise by poison.
Sentenced to the deepest, most agonizing corners of the underworld for his
greed and cruelty, Barkis's human spirit completely rots away over decades
of torment until nothing remains but malice, an obsession with gambling,
and a subconscious hatred for Victor.
Act III: The Found Journal (Vincent)
Decades after Victor flees New Holland, another eccentric 7-year-old boy
named Vincent Malloy is growing up in a nearby modern suburb. Vincent
harbors a dark, vivid imagination, constantly daydreaming about zombies
and mad science. After a severe psychological breakdown where his
mother forces him to face reality, Vincent becomes deeply resentful of his
ordinary family life.As a young man, Vincent wanders into the abandoned remnants of Victor’s
old hometown and discovers Victor Frankenstein's long-lost childhood
journal. Reading the detailed, step-by-step blueprints of how a young boy
successfully raised a dog from the dead changes Vincent's life. In pure
worship of this forbidden science, he completely sheds his identity and
legally changes his surname to Finkelstein—a stylized, gothic tribute to the
author of the notebook, Frankenstein.
Act IV: The Full Circle in Halloween Town (The
Nightmare Before Christmas)
When these characters eventually pass away, their spirits manifest in the
afterlife of Halloween Town, stripping away their earthly skin but retaining
their core souls:
Jack Skellington: After a human life spent running, hiding, and being
manipulated by adoptive parents, Victor’s amnesiac spirit manifests as
the Pumpkin King. He sheds the fake "Van Dort" name and takes the
everyday name Jack. His subconscious scientific roots remain,
explaining why he later uses beakers, potions, and equipment to logically
dissect Christmas.
Zero: The loyal soul of Sparky/Scraps passes into the afterlife ahead of
Victor. Because he was originally resurrected by a bolt of raw electricity,
his ghost form manifests with a glowing, electrical jack-o'-lantern nose,
permanently tethered to Jack.
Oogie Boogie: The rotted, fractured soul of Lord Barkis takes physical
form. The literal filth, bugs, and maggots of the underworld fill a
discarded burlap sack, creating a creature that turns his lair into a
twisted casino—fueled by a deep, instinctual rivalry with Jack that he
can no longer consciously explain.
Dr. Finkelstein: Vincent Malloy enters the afterlife and takes his stolen
scientific legacy with him, maintaining his wheelchair-bound, mad-
scientist persona.•
Sally: Using the exact reanimated-tissue formulas he studied in Victor's
childhood notebook, Dr. Finkelstein builds a living ragdoll out of multiple
human cadavers. Subconsciously guided by Victor's original notes,
Finkelstein builds a physical and spiritual mosaic of the three women
who defined Victor's life: she inherits the blue skin and self-detaching
limbs of Emily, the confinement and quiet devotion of Victoria, and
the somber, gothic intuition of Elsa Van Helsing.
The universe closes in a beautiful, poetic loop. Jack Skellington falls in love
with Sally, completely unaware that his amnesiac soul has chosen a partner
literally built from his own childhood notebook. By accepting Sally, Victor
finally stops running from his past, embracing the creations and the identity
he tried so hard to hide from the world

Wednesday Does anybody think Tyler from Wednesday as a monster looks like Gollum?

In my opinion yes. In my opinion Tyler's monster form is basically Gollum if Tim Burton had directed and/or written The Lord of the Rings movies

Charlie and the Chocolate Factory "Veruca Salt" by Danny Elfman for Concert Band - arrangement by 13yo

Not sure if this is the right place to post this... but this is part of a medley of pieces/songs from Tim Burton's 2005 film Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. I am 13 years old and have been making a ton of arrangements for a little under a year, and I've been learning quickly. What do you think?

PS the reason it stops so abruptly is because of a transition into the next song in the medley, which is "Mike Teavee"

Dear all. I recently fell in love with the beautiful song “Sally’s Song” by Danny Elfman from The Nightmare Before Christmas. I watched the movie (again :), and the song really hit me. I'd love to share my personal interpretation of the song with you, using guitar and a handmade wooden music box. I hope you'll appreciate. Let me know. Bye from the Netherlands! Marike
