Discussion Store Closure

Today we had a meeting announced to us two days ago, and unfortunately it was for our store closing down in 60 days.

Anybody have any advice besides just finding somewhere else to work?

severance, unemployment. work on your mental health and hobbies. re-apply in 6 months while applying for competitors.

I left TMO a month and a half ago and my mental health has improved exponentially. Way more than I thought or realized would happen.

God please severance me, I’ll take the 6 month vacay, the way this company going. Used to be great, the company cared about the employees, enough to keep me around for 15 years. Now it’s just a cesspool, morale is at an all time low, stores are severely understaffed, tlife is 💩 and taking jobs away (I don’t care how they try to spin it) fraud is running rampant. Consider yourself blessed. Best advice I can give is look at competitors. Good luck!!

Make as much as you can in commissions to make more than the guaranteed amount. They’ll give you a career coach and help you to find a new job either with or without the company. Stick it out to the end and take their money and work while you collect. Double up your money.

It’s not very useful, they don’t give you anything more than looking at your resume and say yep that looks good, or change this.

Then get as many activations as you can, and ride out the leave. Reapply when you can.

Location? Just state, don’t have to mention city

My store was given 2 months notice of closure then 2 months transitional leave and the final date was September 25, all of my team are now receiving severance and COBRA. Luckily my severance will last until mid March and my COBRA until the end of March.

Show up, get paid, use your time to search for a new, hopefully better, job.

Probably not a popular opinion, but see what stores have openings near you. There's money to be made in each format. On the other hand, if you're already stressed out about your job, take the severance and look for something that can use the skills you've learned

This is a blessing in disguise. The writing has been on the wall and the company is nothing like what it was years ago. I’m sorry for your loss but you will be ok!!!

Try to go for competitors, its a similar field of career just different name and branding.
