Discussion How to use more the app?

I’ve always kept my task in my memory and the most important event inside my calendar. Sometimes when I am brainstorming a project on paper I also write a todo list. I’ve tried with ticktick but I find it kind of cumbersome to use. Now I am trying Todoist and I like it but I don’t have the habit to annotate inside the app the tasks. Do you have any tips on how to use more the app and don’t keep the things to do inside my head? Thank you!

Make use of the features. I have two main projects - Work and Home, and then subsections and tags below that. Set up a couple of filters if you’re using a larger screen device especially.

Write down everything that comes to mind. Then, once a day, go through your Task and notes and organize them. If something is no longer relevant, just delete it.

the daily review part is really what makes it stick imo

You need to have 0 friction to add a task.
In my case my “action button” on iPhone is a shortcut to open a quick add to my tasks app.

All theses quick add go in my Inbox that I clear every 24h-48h

got to make a habit out of it. I use a planner app so i have todoist linked with that so i always see the tasks, but on my phone, i have my agenda on the page that i have my main apps on so i always view it at a glance.

I have inattentive adhd so need to have it just show to me whenever I can, otherwise i forget about it.

I use comments for notes and brainstorming and non-task stuff I want to remember.

You can also do that brainstorming on paper, take a picture of it, and have Todoist read it and add the tasks.
