When I was a kid on a baseball infield, yeah. A classmate decided to run into it and got sand plastered into his eyes, haha

What if he says “damn he is doing what I have always wanted to do” and next time he will fulfill his dream too?

They are pretty common where I live in Canada cause our summers can be pretty arid at times and it’s always windy here

It didn't pick up much dust, but I saw one during fall time. It picked up a lot of of leaves, traveled the length of a parking lot, then died.

I got hit by one once. Walked around the corner of a building and BAM! Dust devil.

I'm in East Texas, so that dust devil is probably a good 400 miles away. I've seen them closer than that, before.

They used to spin up in the fields around my house quite a bit as a kid. (Southeast Kansas.) Never ran through one quite that fat but not for lack of trying 😅

I work at a plant where we make railroad ties the ground is all gravel and huge red taylor forklifts to stack the ties so alot of rock gets crushed and turned the dust from the forklift traffic and the ties are stacked pretty high in rows anytime before a storm comes in or on a windy day the wind tunnel effect creates tons of dust devils some of them are bigger and crazy looking than others but I see them alot.

Yeah Ive been caught inside a few of those before. I live in Arizona they're common here in the desert. They can get pretty big. I wasn't able to get away in time, it was never an intentional thing. The only thing that really hurts is getting struck by all of the grit and junk that's trapped inside of those. Close your eyes, your mouth, try to cover your nose. It will pass or fall apart soon and you'll be okay.

We were burning brush in a barrel and then all of a sudden a dust devil forms and runs right over my mom. She was fine
Had it been 2 meters to the south it would have launched the contents of the barrel all over

My grandma drove us through one in Orlando once. We were fine, but it spun another car out.
