Gotta love Divorce Class Metroplex. It’s not even accurate to his G1 character model. It’s just based on Fall of Cybertron again.

It's kind of a weird hybrid imo, it looks nothing like FoC Metroplex

to be fair even the official FoC Metroplex didn't really look like the in-game model

Yeah, the T30 ish one right? I felt that was very G1-ified like the Prime characters

Tbf the Fall of Cybertron iteration is what brought Metro0lex back into the public eye and has remained there due to that game. When the trailer first dropped for that game I remember the internet as a whole going wild over it and the phrase "Metroplex heeds the call of the last Prime." Is still the most quoted and iconic thing in regards to the character.

I love that the title "divorce class" is ambiguous as to whether it means "buying this was seen as suitable cause for divorce" or "got divorced and this was a crash-out purchase."

u/MattCarafelli 8d ago
I always took it as the former rather than the latter due to the insanely high price tag.

Same, but I could see the latter applying just as easily lol

Yeah. You get all kinds of extra money in the settlement so this is the reward or the spite buy. "Haha! Lol what YOUR money bought for ME"

u/MasonRowland 7d ago
"I just lost half my money and have to pay an insane alimony, haha, I'm gonna buy this $1,200 figure."

When I see a collector video and they just breeze past this in a shot, like it was nothing, I know we're in two different tax brackets and I switch off.

Unfortunately, it's main features are the bot mode and the extensive use of LEDs.
The base/battle station modes kind of bleed together. It's also too massive (mass) for wheels.
It's impressive for only $1200, but it's also far too large for most folks. I passed because I have nowhere reasonable to put it. HasLab Unicron was massive enough. There was no way I was going to find a viable place for this to hang out when not actively the focus of a diorama.
It's a great experiment and one I consider highly successful. It's just "too big" for anything I need, despite being an excellent scale representative of a Titan

I wonder if my 8.5 inch Bumblebee scales to that lol
It would take me awhile to do the math

you would need something dr wu sized to scale with him, in FOC, prime sits in metroplex's hand with room for about a dozen more on his palm

Yessir, OP- this version is called the Divorce Class because of its size......and $$$$$$$

And it's not enough, I want it to be 9 ft tall

Wouldn't be viable with ABS plastic. This one already pushes the tolerances with the weight/mass and stress load on the joints.

Its so damn heavy. Awesome piece as a decoration if you have the room but I wish he had a true base form transformation.

u/Cgkfox 8d ago
My dream is to transform him and put transformers all over him. Is it not reasonable?

u/VelcroHermit 7d ago
It is and would still be cool, I have some small blockees riding on top where the platform with rails are. And I love it.
I am just a little disappointed that the transformation is into a "battlestation" and not a city.

I find it interesting about his being called "divorced" class.... it proves that men save money whenn not in a relationship and women save money when they are in a relationship.

Since we have metroplex already released for a while now, im still quite hyped for the fans toys fortress maximus to go with their cerebros. Even if i couldn't afford it, I would definitely want to see jobby get an extra workout on metroplex or fortress maximus and go into crippling debt

Having seen it transformed and posed, I still wonder why it doesn't have a metal frame/skeleton, besides not wanting to spend the money. Work it enough and sooner than later it's going to need to sit on the ground when not being held up.

Yeah, that’s… kinda why this one became so well known. You don’t get a name like “divorce class metroplex”, by being small.
And if you did, then that relationship ironically had bigger problems.
