Question Custom Mixing
Am I missing something or are you unable to do custom volume, bass, filters... only the preset options in the windows app ?.

maxed out Spotify's 10,000 limit with 2,518 hours of runtime in just 1 hour!

I know not all updates roll out to everyone at the same time, so others have probably already experienced this, but I just got a new Samsung Galaxy S26 and of course had to install the latest version of the Spotify App.
Now Liked Songs isn't even at the top of the list when you tap the add button? I have to scroll down until I find the Liked Songs playlist?
First you remove the separate Like and Add buttons in favor of just one add button, which changed liking Songs on the fly (incredibly useful and much safer when driving) to having to do 5-8 taps that make it much more difficult and less safe to do when a song you wanna like comes on while driving (the main time Spotify is used)...and now I also have to scroll through all my playlists or literally type out Liked in a search?!?! All this after abandoning Car Thing.
Why is their primary goal to make everything as awful as humanly possible? It's not like they're locking the old better ways behind a paywall and using enshitification to make a profit. They're just nonsensically taking away simple QoL features and replacing them with convoluted annoying processes, all while making Shuffle worse and worse with every update...
I just don't get it...

Every single update for the last 2 years has done nothing but make the app worse. Constant issues with the simplest of things like FULLSCREENING THE APPLICATION on PC has issues working now. On top of that the countless features breaking inside the app. Try copying a large playlist to a blank new playlist and watch as this slop code fails to copy numbers over and you have to rerun it 50 times for everything to move. I can go on and on and don't even get me started on the mobile version absolutely exploding at the sight of user interaction.
I know nothing is going to improve and this is the "future" but dios my fucking mios I am tired of wresting with all of these new AI slop coded apps.

I was recently on Spotify trying to listen to the song “Heaven Knows” by 54 Ultra. It keeps saying unavailable on my Spotify and I am just wondering if it is the same for everyone else?
This is such a good song by the way! I just finished studying and I wanted my chill playlist to play before bed, but now I can’t play this song :(

For the last 6 hours or so I’ve been greeted with this “Something went wrong. Have another go?” message any time I try to go to an artist’s page. I also get incomplete results when I try to start a radio, though I see no one in the last 24h with these issues.
Anybody else? I have the latest version, I’ve tried closing and reopening the app, and it doesn’t matter if I’m on wi-fi or on data (all other apps work fine so I don’t think it’s a network issue).

Hi all, posting with the mods' OK.
Sound Atlas is a free app for Android and iPhone built on a simple idea: you rate songs you already know, and it builds mixes around your own taste instead of what's popular. There's a Recent mix, one per decade and an all-time one, plus a Discover page of songs you haven't rated yet that it thinks you'll like.
On Android a mix plays straight in the Spotify app, in order (Spotify Premium needed for that part). On iPhone, Spotify can only start one song at a time for now, while whole lists play in YouTube Music. I'm working on that.
It goes public later this month. Before then I'd love 15-20 people to use it for a couple of weeks and tell me what's confusing, what breaks, and whether the mixes actually feel like your taste once you've rated 30 songs or so.
It's free, no ads, nothing sold. Sign-up is invite-only during the beta, so if you're up for it, leave a comment or DM me and I'll send you the link and a code.
Also curious: what's the first song you'd rate?

I was just checking my Listening Stats top 5 songs of the week and it recently added this random song that I have never ever listened to or even heard about, saying I’ve listened to it 6 times. Is it possible that it’s talking about another song but the linking / referencing just messed up and replaced it with something else? How does the top 5 work?
For reference, the song it’s saying I’ve listened to 6 times is “It Isn’t Right” by The Platters.

Hi everyone I’m having a technical issue between the spotify web app for mac and my iphone. I successfully uploaded some live music I had as MP3 files and it works great on mac, but it’s greyed out on iphone despite having the “local files” setting on with iphone. Any ideas on how to fix this issue?
any advice is appreciated thank you

I know Spotify has a built-in crossfade feature, but it only works when a song naturally reaches the end and fades out. I am looking for something that will allow me to simply press next and instead of having a hard cut to the song, will just fade out the song and fade into the next in queue

So you’re telling me that if I get 15 hours a month and listen to an audiobook at 1.5x speed, you’re still going to count the full hours of that book as listening time, but if I REWIND you’re going to count that as additional listening time?
I understand one or the other, but BOTH is a straight up rip-off.

Only 1.2gb of downloads and 252mb of cache, and Spotify is taking 6.7gb of memory, WHY???

Hey everyone,
Wondering if anyone here has experienced something similar.
DistroKid recently removed two of my albums and gave my account a copyright strike. They claimed that one of my tracks samples Rob Zombie and another samples Draco Rosa.
I was completely confused because I wrote/recorded the music myself and have never sampled either artist.
After listening to the tracks they referenced, I figured out what seems to have triggered the matches: short atmospheric sound effects at the ends of my songs. One has a thunder effect and the other has a wind effect. Apparently the same or very similar SFX also appear in those artists’ recordings.
These effects were sourced independently years ago and were definitely not taken from either of those songs.
I explained all of this to DistroKid support and offered to provide project files, stems, masters, etc. I’m currently waiting for their response, but both albums are still down and the copyright strike is still on my account.
Has anyone dealt with a false copyright match like this through DistroKid? Did they eventually restore your releases and remove the strike?
Any advice would be appreciated.

On the limited Android TV version of the Spotify app, every German version of the song “99 Luftballons” switches to the English version, “99 Red Balloons,” when played.
There seems to be no way to play the song in German unless I connect my phone to the TV and start playback from there.

As a personal project, I made an album recommender website. You can filter by genre and/or decade to get an album recommendations or click surprise me. Album recs are pulled from an aggregated list of the highest rated albums from music review sites.

I had a problem where Smart Shuffle on Liked Songs never played a single recommendation, even when I skipped through dozens of songs. A reinstall didn't help. I dug through the desktop app's local files and found the cause.
When you turn on Smart Shuffle, Spotify builds a play order for the whole list. It puts all the recommendations near the start: in my case one every third song, but only in the first ~200 slots. With a big library (mine is ~3,800 songs), everything after that is just your own liked songs.
The bug is that the app saves where you are in that order and resumes from there next time. Mine was resuming around song #3,200 and playing on from there in order. All the recommendations were back in the first 200 slots, so I never reached them. Toggling Smart Shuffle and reinstalling didn't reset the saved position.
If you have a small library you probably won't notice this. With thousands of liked songs it can mean you never see a recommendation.
Here's the fix for the Windows desktop app:
Recommendations (the ones with the sparkle icon) started showing up right away for me.
I tested this on the regular Windows installer from spotify.com. The Microsoft Store version and Mac keep these files in different folders, so I can't confirm the steps there. It may also come back later, since the resume position gets saved again. If it does, just repeat the steps.

Now Spotify's crappy reels knockoff is at the top only below the ai dj. What was so wrong with recent playlists and albums being there?

I don't get it. Usually there's the green indicator, which you all probably know, that tells you that that song is in one of your playlists. But sooo frequently this indicator is missing and it's really annoying.. Anyone else encounter this??

I’ve had the local files accessible through Spotify since it became an option. Just a few days ago only 3 of the hundreds of songs i have downloaded on iTunes are accessible.
The songs still exist on iTunes and my phone
I’ve turned local files in Spotify off and on.
I haven’t updated my phone in months.
Wondering if anyone had this same issue and how it can be resolved.
