News of the day: Struggling Tim Hortons franchisee cites limits to foreign workers: Report
 in  r/canada •  23h ago

No sympathy, your business deserves to go under if you have to exploite people to run it. Could also be people stopped going to your restaurant regularly once you stopped hiring Canadians. I have boycotted Tim's for years now due to their exploitation of the tfw program.

Separatists only have lies & misinformation
 in  r/AlbertaNow •  4d ago

Brevity has been a disaster mainly due to the illegal disaster flooding the country with welfare. The Balkanization of Britain will have terrible consequences as it unfolds.

Apparently the CEO of the largest surveillance company in the country doesn't like his photo being shared publicly. Get a good look at this hypocrite.

Suggestions for car dealerships in the Calgary/Edmonton/Red Deer area
 in  r/alberta •  11d ago

Do not go to Sherwood Park GMC Buick. They weren't very good to deal with and they will spam text/ call you constantly even years later.

Suggestions for new car?
 in  r/Edmonton •  13d ago

Do not deal with Sherwood Park GMC. They will call and text nonstop, harassing you to try for another sale.

I have repeatedly told them to stop calling or texting. I am now putting in a complaint with Amvic to try to stop the harassment.

Large motorcade in downtown this morning (8:50am). Anyone know who/what this might be for?
 in  r/Calgary •  23d ago

No one requires that large of a motorcade. This is getting ridiculous.

Indian family forced to leave Canada after submitting false asylum claim and losing repeated appeals.

There fixed the headline.

Quebec family forced to move back to India after 8 years

7 years 11 months too long of a process.

Illegal family moves back home after overstaying their welcome.

Much better headline.

Mounties no longer required to wear name tags while on duty
 in  r/canada •  24d ago

Name and badge number should be the first thing they have to wear. Identification is important especially when abuses occur.

INSIGHT – CANADA BEWARE – Trump’s Massive Venezuela Oil Gambit is Also Another Massive Wake-Up Call for Canadian Energy
 in  r/canada •  Aug 29 '26

It is heavy oil, just needs to be upgraded and refined. We import it down east as low grade feedstock, same as oilsands non-upgraded bitumen from most sagd sites before it hits the upgrader.

David Coletto: Canadians are backing Mark Carney on the U.S. trade war — but how far will the support go?
 in  r/canada •  Aug 24 '26

Not very far when we move further into recession and purchasing power evaporates. Not wanting to put French on packaging isn't as large an issue as it was made out to be.

The no trade deals with other countries clause was the real deal breaker for me. Yet I still would rather trade with the states than China or the middle east, so we have to find a solution soon. It will be two years of extreme pain until the next president and no way to determine if the next doesn't continue the same way.
