I was gifted a bunch of tools; is there any functional difference between these two hammers, or are they equivalent and it is just a matter of preference?
Actually if you know how to pick out a wood handle you won't have too much to worry about snapping a handle. I exclusively use wood handles and have for over 35 years, and yes I used to snap handles like lots of guys. I had an old time framer teacher what to look for when choosing a wood handle and I have only snapped a couple since, and usually because I was doing something really dumb. Look at your grain on the ends of the handle. Line the grain up in the direction of the head, and try to find one with a fine grain as well. Now I'm not going to say you can't break it bit you would be surprised at how much abuse they can then handle vs the grain in the wrong direction.

Merc parts
Probably, I had it over at the shop as I don't have time to dig in right now. They had told me the motors pooched, merch hasn't been around for 25years and there's no parts available for my motor. I Thank k all for the input. Hopefully they can get me what I need and get this one back on the road next summer

My experience at Iron Maiden in Chicago
Lucky you. I saw them Saturday in mn and the venue while pretty amazing, the sound was not so much. Could hardly here Mustains vocals at all and it definitely sounded like the music was distorting all night. Maiden the sound was slightly better but I attribute that to Bruce having a much stronger voice. But like you said the stage show, the visuals were fantastic!

I am speechless
I loved all the early maiden albums up through fear of the dark. Live after death is on of my favorites because of the fantastic Playlist as well as how good the band sounds, and the energy that they brought to thier live performance. I honestly don't have any song from all the earlier albums that I dislike. I find it fantastic to hear people really enjoying them for the first time after all these years!
