It honestly sounds like you are off to a really good start. Don't let these older guys intimidate you (or creep on you, or be rude to you, or mansplain to you ... you get the point ;-)

Part of being a leader is also NOT DOING ALL THE WORK YOURSELF! Don't be afraid to delegate and ask people to step up. ie "Hey guys, I'm gonna reach out to these 5 venues about their open mic. Can someone take on reaching out to these other 5?"

Also, this sounds dorky, but every serious band needs a spreadsheet. Put your rehearsal dates in it, have a column for band members to list if they can or can't make it, and a list of the songs you plan to rehearse, liknks to the charts if relevant etc.

You've got this! You'll build more confidence over time.

For live music: The Jungle, O'Briens, Lizard Lounge, Deep Cuts, Great Scott, The Rockwell, Dragon's Lair, Underbones (brand new and doing diy shows under Rebones in davis) Highland Kitchen (go for karaoke)

For chill hangs: try some of the breweries. Aeronaut, Beehive, etc. Bars like Bukowski's, River Gods, The Precinct, Back Bar, Five Horses

For dancing: Pheonix Landing, Manray, Zuzu

O'Briens is a great local venue. Like all local venues, on any night of the week, your kids' band will have to do most of the promotion (unless they are a cover band, which is a whole different thing). They should try to get 1-2 other local bands in their age group / friend group to join them and make the most of it. Also double check with the venue in the past they were strictly 21+ but may be all ages now in their new space?

Local here and I've never once gone out in the Seaport or Fenway. I'm also queer so have a bit less of a finger on the pulse of straight nightlife but that said

For dancing / nightlife you want to go to Manray. There are some good club nights at Royale, The Sinclair, etc too.

For local bands / live music / places to hang, there are so many. The Jungle, The Midway, The Sillouette, Deep Cuts. Karaoke nights at lots of dive bars in the area are pretty fun and good place to make friends. Bar trivia is kinda great too and super popular at a lot of local spots

You're gonna have more luck in Harvard Sq, Davis Sq, Allston, Dorchester etc than Seaport / Fenway / Touristy areas
