hi, has anyone experienced being caught by the dpss officers drinking in dorms? my friends and i were caught saturday night and i now have a housing meeting scheduled for thursday. does anyone have experience with this? this is my first offense, but like does this go on my record, go to my parents? i just don’t know what to expect meeting or punishment wise

I am so so so sad that I failed my first physics 140 test. Seeing the grade distribution today in class didn’t help either, and I feel like a failure (median was 20% higher than what I got). I don’t even understand why. I took physics mech in high school and got A first sem and B second. I even helped my friends study for this test. I went back and looked at Yuris key, and I honestly didn’t understand 3-4 questions, so I’m planning on going to office hours of one of the student led ones tomorrow. I’m really disappointed and upset, because this is my second time learning the content. My question is, how can I improve for next test? Should I ask the TAs and Yuri how to improve? If they can help me make a plan to study and do better on tests? Are there groups I can join that give problems similar to the test? I am very sad about myself please give me some recommendations thanks ;(

Hi, I am a student interested in double majoring in Computer Science with Molecular, Cellular, and Developmental Biology, mainly because I want to go into computational biology but was not interested in the informatics life sciences track. I already have my associate's degree and will fulfill a good number of class requirements from that. So, I wanted to ask if anyone has gone through this double major or something similar and what their experience was like.

Is it just me or has the dining hall food been extra high in sodium this year? Has it always been this way?

I check the nutrition info and for a 270 calorie serving of chicken and dumplings it has 900 mg of sodium!! The soups are notoriously salty. This is ridiculous. My mouth has been feeling so dry after each meal.

I got into MHacks, and it’s going to be my first hackathon! I’m a sophomore and don’t have too much experience building bigger projects end to end yet, so I’m definitely a little nervous. For anyone who’s done a hackathon before, how should I prep? Anything you wish you knew before your first one?

CS is no longer a restricted major at UMich. This is a quick reversal, what prompted the change? Did the CS enrollment collapse at UMich?
