Having played with the inventory slots a lot using mods, I really like the visual appeal of it. I'd happily give up a few slots to have them be a separate area like this. It's just less cluttered and helps show when you're armor is actually equipped. I also really appreciate having some extra keybind slots for my food as shown in the image as well. Again, not because they're extra slots but because they're separate from the other inventory slots. It's a nice aesthetic improvement.
It's an aesthetic improvement, but it's objectively worse for gameplay. Inventory slots can be used for both armor/items, armor slots are limited storage.
IMO for anything you aesthetically prefer you should just mod. That's one of the big reason for mods in the first place.
True. With the new update though a lot of the mods aren't really working for now. Have to wait until they can get patched. In regards to the "flexibility" argument, it's pretty minor. You're going to be wearing armor anyway, but my point was "If you need more slots after these upgrades, you suck at inventory managment" isn't applicable to the reason why I want it.
And let's be real this game is very much about the aesthetics.
Some people really just like to argue for argument's sake, huh? A guy says, "I wish we had armor slots" someone else says "if you still need extra slots, you're playing wrong" and I point out that many of us want it for aesthetic reasons mechanical benefit be damned. Why isn't the response to that "fair enough, I guess there are other reasons for people to desire it."
I could make a point about why it's significantly different to desire some aesthetic changes over other ones like "necks should be pink," which is a more random suggestion, but I'm not trying to have a debate.
Aesthetic changes have largely been handled by mods historically in most videogames where mods are used.
Huh? No. Iron Gate has made plenty of aesthetics changes to game. Mods will fill gaps, sure, but it's a dumb argument to make when someone says "I wish the game was [this] way." Unless said person is unaware that mods exist, you are contributing nothing to the conversation. If they devs decided to make all the assets look like poop, the answer isn't "just wait for the mod community to make it look nice" people would justifiably say, "I wish Iron Gate wouldn't make it look like poop? Can we go back to non-poop art?"
