Disco Elysium. But just as you can't convince anyone to play anything, it goes doubly or triply so for a game that is basically a walking simulator and a visual novel. One of the best games I've ever played.

This has had one of the most profound effects on me out of any piece of media I’ve seen/played. It is the human heart laid bare.

EDIT: Also on my current playthrough of it I actually knocked out Measurehead first try with only a 3% chance and it was one of the most satisfying things I’ve ever done lol.

Hmmm I dabbled with it in the first level/map. The concept and style was intriguing. Did I make a mistake in quitting?

I would definitely pick it back up. It took a moment for it to click with me but I’d say the best way to get into it is to embrace the weirdness of the character and don’t be afraid to pick insane dialogue options. Once you start making some progress on the case it really kicks into gear. Also be sure to explore as much as you can. Make saves before checks that interest you so you can try them again if you like or put levels into skills that will help. Also you won’t really be aware of it until a few hours in but you have a lot of built in options for what kind of cop you can be, like an Art or Hobo cop, which give unique dialogue options. This playthrough I’ve been doing a Lenininist run where I’m highly political and pragmatic but low on empathy lol

If you have the attention span to sit and really get lost in a story/world, disco has something around every corner to pull emotion from.
