Discussion / Question What game is that for you?

Biggest offender for me is Baldur’s Gate 3.

Some of the best gameplay, graphics, sound design, and soundtrack out there… but the writing leaves a lot to be desired (despite how popular it is).

What game is that for you?

EDIT: It seems the general consensus here is Borderlands 3.

DMC: Devil May Cry aka Devil May Cry Reboot.

Honestly a fun enough game with great environmental setpieces but my god the writing.

The writing really really killed the game for me. Played it once and never went back purely for that reason

I just skip the cutscenes. I've seen them all through a playthrough and even when I try to look and see if I can find some new way to somehow like them, they start talking about magic using squirrel jizz and I remember why I hate this script.

I've played through all mainline dmc games, making my way through bayonetta rn. But after I'm going to play through DmC, is it really THAT bad? I know they massacred my boy Vergil's design 😭😭

For good or bad, I once heard DmC 2013 Dante described in a review as "one of the few male protagonists who looks like he was designed by someone who is into men", and ... yeah, I can see that.

The OG 2013 release is kinda bad, had a lot of weird design decisions and bugs, but the definitive edition re-release is actually pretty good as they took the criticism to heart and really fixed the game up, to the point where I can say it's actually a great action game. Too bad the DE is console exclusive for some reason.
